Anyone else thinks his voice is now getting screechy and annoying?

"I don't understand what people are saying." It's iconic, but when you hear the rest of the song, the way he's singing just annoys me.

I've noticed that he started singing differently, pitching his voice to the point that it's almost feminine (I don't know how else to describe it).

I believe he started this in Promise (it was a bop, though), but Idol was when it really took a hit. Like why, son? Compare his voice in Am I Wrong and then listen to Home. It's just... a no no. His voice is deteriorating and he needs to bring back his old technique because he's an amazing singer and this new thing is dampening that.
