|3rd Person POV|

Nothing exciting was happening, the midterms were uneventful and the sports festival was coming up right about now. Katsuki sighed to himself, ever since the incident in his childhood he's been guarding his emotions from others. Katsuki turned walk down the hallway break was longer than expected since Aizawa fell asleep behind his desk. His footsteps were usually loud and would attract too much attention on him, but today--they were unusually quiet and small.

He had a lot going on in his head.

Quieter and calmer.

Suddenly, something tapped against his back, it felt small but hard enough to alarm him. Turning around, glaring at whoever touched him--he felt his eyes go wide. Her long silky (h/c)-colored hair that gathered together in wavy strands, the wide (e/c) gems that shined in the sunlight were all too familiar to him.

Their eyes met, the small girl didn't seem to recognize him right away as she bowed in apology fumbling around with her belongings that were scattered on the floor.

"(Y/n)...?" his voice was almost broken, whispering from the pure shock as his throat burned and his eyes watered out of reflex.

"Sorr...ghy!" Her voice was different from what he remembered. The girl was grown-up, but her voice was broken like his in a different way, in her own way. And he found it cute...surprisingly.

Her Japanese was messy and uncoordinated. Katsuki leaned down and grabbed a notebook that had neat handwriting with her name in small letters in the corner of the cover. It was a pink Campos book, wrinkled from what seemed to be old water stains. (Y/n) (L/n)...Katsuki handed the book to her just as their eyes met. His world seemed just a little bit brighter.

Then he noticed it, the nude colored hearing aids in her ears.

"You're..." the girl stood up quickly, forgetting about her pencil case that had a small tear on the zipper patched with painters tape, the bright blue material made the boy smile. He grabbed ahold of it and her arm at the same time, speaking slower as to help her understand.

"You're forgetting something--" He was interrupted by the girl ripping her arm from his grasp, her eyes glossy with tears, she looked as if she wanted to say something but refrained to--struggling to speak her mind.

"I'm sorry." Katsuki covered his mouth in shock, had he really apologized? To a girl that he hurt?

To think that after ten years, she was in front of him again, still as small as ever but she was different. Not as vocal as she was when she was younger.

She looked at in shock, reading his lips, she covered her mouth.

"Ka..Kasugki?" she voiced, her broken Japanese made Katsuki smile. He nodded as his smile grew and he handed the pencil bag to the shorter of the two. The girl quickly grabbed it back and stumbled a bit as she walked toward the ash blond. Katsuki's eyes shifted the the two hearing aids then to her alluring eyes that were conflicted--eyes that he's never seen before.

She was always so, so happy. He had caused her pain, stole something from her that she could never get back.

He had gotten word from his mother that the girl moved away to get 'treatment' saying that it would be okay. But that was after her mother died, after her father had already left with the girl he held so closely to his heart.

"(Y/n)--(L/n), I gotta go back to class--but I'll catch up with you later!" Katsuki explained as he walked past her turning so she could read his lips. At first she seemed reluctant but nodded anyways before walking the opposite direction. Katsuki frowned once he got out of sight, disappearing into a dark hallway.

===========

(Y/n) looked down at her belongings, her old notebooks and pencils were out of shape but did the job nonetheless. She felt happy--no, she felt like a burden. She knew that Katsuki would be there, yet, went there to make her father proud not to look like an idiot. She was in General Studies, the teacher gave her notes after classes just in case she didn't catch anything during the lesson and she was grateful but...

A tap on her shoulder made her yelp and turn around quickly, her stupid ears! She had turned her hearing aids down to avoid a migraine from all the overwhelming vibrations of the people around her movements, but of course, she did it at the wrong time. She always does. Startled (e/c) gems met passionate ruby as she stood up from the curb.

School had ended and just as promised, Katsuki said that he would catch up to her. Whenever he promised something to her--he always kept it true to his heart. It gave her hope that she could do something in return for him in the end.

The short girl bowed apologetically but was stopped by Katsuki's hand grabbing her shoulder with a shake of his head.

"Come on, I'll walk you home..." he mumbled. The girl only stared at him, he cursed and turned back to the girl---hoping that he was doing it right, he began to sign.

"Come on, I'll walt you house." the girl covered her mouth and snorted. Grabbing ahold of his hands as she corrected his misspelling.

Once the laughing had come to an end, they made their way down the sidewalk to the boy's house. She had told him(mostly giving him something to write on to communicate because she doesn't have a phone) that she wanted to visit his mother.

It really has been forever...ten years since I've talked to this girl.

Katsuki glanced over to the girl beside him, she looked at ease, happier than when he first saw her which was good--great. Suddenly, his nose felt wet, looking up into the sky dark clouds fell overhead (Y/n) noticed the boy's actions and looked up as well. Katsuki clicked his tongue.

"It's going to rain..." he grumbled incoherently, not that it mattered. The (h/c)-haired teen smiled joyously as she took out her hearing aids and packed them away securely into her school bag before she ran ahead of the boy twirling as the rain began to pour down on the streets. Soaking her completely, Katsuki failed to use his blazer as a cover watching the girl who he cared for dance in the rain.

Her angelic giggles were like music to him.

And for once--he was at peace, the raging anger inside him subsided and he found himself laughing with her as a hot blush traveled up his neck and settled onto his cheeks and ears.

Maybe...just maybe he could be something more than a disappointment to this girl.
