|3rd Person POV|

You would think that she resented him for what he had done to her, to her family, but she didn't. Quite the opposite, actually.

After her mother had left them, leaving her Father to carry the weight on his shoulders, the bills for her hearing aids and special classes--the injuries she gained over the years for her disability. Her father simply couldn't take it anymore, so, she took up the jobs for him while he stayed silent like she had been. Depressed and overworked, alcohol became an issue. No, he didn't hurt or insult her, rather, he mourned for his wife.

Apologizing to his daughter that couldn't hear him without the need of her hearing aids.

Then there was the thought of moving back, moving back to Japan where the boy who started all of this pain--where her mother was, buried in the ground, like the last of their beloved family rested in piece.

The boy who was in pain, the anger of his past clinging to him like lost spirits attached to their unforgiving deaths. He wanted to curse his powers, the powers that deprived him of his one true happiness--the girl that resented herself because of him.

But there they were, standing in front of each other eyes wide in amazement as shock overwhelmed their senses.

This is where their story begins.

-------------------

Katsuki stood still as the pain in his hands lingered like the sweet sting of wasabi in your nose, his fingers twitched and his arms ached from the sudden appearance of the sore tissue.

"This is amazing Katsuki! You have a very powerful Quirk," Katsuki barely processed his kindergarten teacher's words as a bright smile took over his shocked expression. His pride shot through the roof as did his admiration for being a hero grew along with it. With this power, he could do anything he wanted!

When school was let out, he and Izuku rushed to the playground where a very pretty girl around his age(precisely a year older) played under a large tree. Playing with small toy soldiers and princesses acting as if they were saving the wounded toys. Katsuki tripped over his own feet in front of the girl saving himself with his aching hands.

Izuku gaped and went to help him but the long haired girl beat him to it.

"I'm here to save you!" she cried out happily, skipping over to him as her hands wrapped around the taller boy's arms. Katsuki pulled himself up and bashfully looked off to the side, kicking a small patch of bundled up dirt. Ants pooling out of the hill, he grimaced, about to stomp on the small insects before the girl in front of him intervened. A small tree root wrapped around the hill protectively.

"Kat~su~ki! Those are living creatures like us--don't kill them!" she scolded. She did this every time the boy threatened to stomp on spiders and other bugs--you'd think that she didn't like the bugs but she said that she related to them. Saying, 'I'm small just like them! They're smart and have their own families just like us, these bugs are trying to protect their own!' it was a logical explanation but none of the other kids understood her.

But Izuku understood her, Katsuki hated him for that too, not only was he quirk-less but he was weird too. (Y/n) protected the green-haired boy just like she had done for those insects after she found out he was quirk-less.

"(N/n)! Kacchan got his quirk!" Izuku smiled widely with a proud glaze over his expression, the (h/c)-haired girl copied the boy's smile--turning it into a beautiful and cutesy grin that made the two boys blush.

"Really?! What's it called? Come on! Show me, show me!!" the girl bounced up and down not caring if her skirt followed with it. Katsuki and Izuku looked away faces burning, "F-Fine! I'm doing because I want to, not because you told me to!" Katsuki scoffed and brought out his hands, bringing them close to the girl.

None of them knew. They weren't aware of the consequences that this would bring to them.

But with a bright flash and a loud pop with an echoing crackle, the girl blinked as ringing filled her ears. The boys voices of praise were muffled, as if she were underwater in a bath as she had done many times. She ignored the ringing in her ears and gave out her own set of praises not knowing that she was practically shouting at them.

The two boys ignored her sudden loudness as they were small and couldn't control their own volumes as they went on to play with the girl's toys and catch some dodge balls on the jungle gym.

The sun was setting and it was time to go home, everything sounded muffled but the girl continued to ignore it as she sang loudly on her way back home. She knew that the area she lived in was slightly bad but she didn't care. Her apartment was small and both of her parents and herself, slept in the same room which happened to be the living room, dining room, and kitchen all in one, providing one shower and bath that her mother kept spotless along with the rest of the apartment.

She was blissfully unaware of the pain in her ears.

Once she got inside with a spare key, she ran into her mother's arms laughing with joy as the tall woman spun her around without a care in the world. She was bright and happy like her daughter, eyes a beautiful shade of green and blue, her hair the same color as her adorable baby girl.

"How was your day my little flower?" she cooed softly, the girl only continued to laugh loudly as she hugged her mother tightly in her small arms. Her mother, Tanako, pushed her daughter gently as her giggles died down. "You won't believe it mama!! Kat~Su~Ki got his Quirk!!" her loud exclaim made the woman flinch in surprise.

"Honey!" (Y/n)'s second parent, her father, came into the room from the kitchen was divided with a paper thin wall that they bought from the store in the craft section(which was on sale). The soft looking man smiled at his dear daughter and kissed his wife on the forehead as he leaned down by the two.

"How was your day, sweat pea?" he asked with a humble smile, he wasn't as energetic as his wife and daughter but he did his best to keep up as a retired police Officer and Chief. (Y/n) tilted her head in confusion, "What did you say?!" she asked him quite loudly too. The two adults turned to each other, suddenly the sound of water hitting the ground alerted them, the shorter man looked at the ceiling for any leaks while the woman turned to the bathroom to see if she had left the sink running.

But her eyes turned to the matted floor where a red droplet stained the the tile.

She tracked up to her daughter who was looking at the ceiling with her father, dried blood in her ears and fresh tracks dripping from her ear lope which stained her soft yellow dress that stopped right below her scrapped knees. She gasped and tied the girl's hair up, grabbing her handkerchief from her pocket before applying pressure to her baby girl's ears.

"Makoto! We need to go to the hospital. Now!" she called to her husband, the man gaped at the blood but quickly scooped the little girl up in his arms and ran out to his car in which his wife followed close behind whispering assuring words to her baby.

"Mama! I don't understand what you're saying! Speak louder!!" the (e/c)-eyed girl yelled, her eyes were filled with worry mixed with confusion and fear. She didn't understand. What was wrong?!

---

"I'm sorry, but your Daughter is not able to hear properly. But with surgery, I'm sure you can fix her hearing in no time, for now, she'll have to get proper learning to be able to use sign language. We don't have any classes here for special cases like this one." the doctor spoke softly, his eyes held sympathy and pity, Tanako and Makoto were devastated. They didn't have the money for the surgery, nor can they buy hearing aids or lessons for Sign Language.

Tanako turned to her poor daughter who sat clueless to what her parents were talking about. It sounded like muffled muttering, as if only her ears were under the water, or if she had a lot of ear wax blocking her ear-drums.

"Mama, Papa!" the two turned fully to their little ray of sunshine. "I don't know what you're saying, but I'm sorry if I did something wrong!!" she smiled at two adults with a hopeful glint in her wide watering (e/c) eyes. Tanako broke down in tears, sobbing as she clutched onto her daughter. Crying out with muffled apologies. The doctor excused himself and left the small broken family to themselves.

Makoto sniffled before he hugged the two tightly crying softly into (Y/n)'s hair.

The little girl was still completely clueless, but her tears spoke for her, her body knew in a way that this wasn't normal, and reacted for her. Big uneven tears rolled down her cheeks, snot dripping from her button nose, eyes glossy with mixed emotions.

"Don't...Don't cry Mama!! I'm Sorry! I'm Sorry, Papa!!! I don't--I don't understand..d--" she sobbed into her parents warm arms, choking on her words as she blabbered on and on, not even knowing what she was saying as the ringing in her ears continued.
