So without further ado, we introduce to you KlaraSofe

1. Congratulations on winning this contest! How do you feel about this?

To be honest; I thought that round should've gone better. It was still one of my favorite entries, but I felt bleh after entering it. It was a pleasant surprise :D

2. Where were you when you heard that you won?

I first checked the grandmaster and congratulated the deserving winner & runner-ups. And then I noticed my name hidden amongst the others. I was honestly just very surprised.

3. What does it mean to you to win?

I was glad to know others enjoyed my writing & characters as much as I did writing about them.

4. How long did it take you to write and Did you find the contest interesting?

Not that long. If I found the time (i was studying for exams, hence the unedited entries), I typically finish 1000 words in 30 minutes, tops. But that's with clear inspiration and so on. I don't even know if that's good or not *shrugs*

I loved this contest so much. The people I met, the entries I wrote, the deadlines... it was amazing. I hope you do something like this again-- sci-fi, adventure, something like that would be awesome *wink wink*

5. How were you feeling when you entered the contest? Like we're you feeling confident? Or were you just trying your luck?

It was a mix. I'm confident in my writing, but I knew I didn't have time to think & edit as I wrote. I just did the first thing that popped into my mind-- I had extended family & gr 11/12 exams during this contest, so it was a busy time in my life. I was doing this as a breather; something just for me, that I loved. :D

6. How would you describe yourself to other writers?

I'm, uh, talkative?

No? Okay... I like dark chocolate.

...still not good enough? Darn. Okay.

I enjoy connecting with people, reading books of almost any genre, coffee & dark chocolate, writing because I love it, going for long walks & canoeing, bla bla. I'm not super talkative IRL, but I am online... when I can tear myself away from my family & school long enough, lol.

7. What is your favorite genre?

Is this... what is this question?

Fine.

I enjoy fantasy, science fiction, historical fiction, dystopian, paranormal, teen fic, inspirational, Christian, theological, history, biographies, clean romance & humor, action, adventure... I feel like I'm missing some. Huh.

Anyway- as long as there's no sex & minor swearing. Pg-13ish, yeah?

8. Who or what inspires your writing?

So... this is a long answer, but to keep it short, I have three words:

Hope. God. Escape.

If you're interested in me explaining, my PM is always open, lol.

Also; my characters are more than just that. They are my friends, my confidantes, my eyes. I can see their worlds, and feel their stories, and remember their lives... it's more than writing, for me.

9. How long have you been writing? Like, did you start after joining Wattpad or you used to write before?

I've been making up stories & characters since I was a baby, I swear. Writing them down? After I read Eragon by Christopher Paolini. I decided I was going to write my own book and it will for sure have a better ending than that. [I still like the series, but honestly. Ugh. There's a reason my dad chucked his copy of the fourth book.]

(Wattpad was a reading thing for me at first. Now it's a place where I share and support, so...)

10. If you could pass on a single piece of advice to anyone who just started writing, what would it be?

Read. Write. Don't give up.

Support & love others. Learn from those who know more. Seek out critique-- the best thing for a writer is to know where they can improve.

But ultimately: do it for the right reasons.

Don't do it for fame. Don't do it for fortune.

Do it because you love it.

I can't live without writing-- I would do it even if no one ever saw it.

Thanks for checking in, until next time!

Stay awesome!
