So without further ado, we introduce to you 

1. Congratulations on winning this contest! How do you feel about this?
Answer: Excited! Writing is something we (writers) put so much of ourselves into, and to have somebody else say "Hey, yeah, that's good. We like that." It means the world.

2. Where were you when you heard that you won?
Answer: At home, on my couch. (Probably between Heartstone games).

3. What does it mean to you to win?
Answer: It means I'm doing something right!

4. How long did it take you to write and Did you find the contest interesting?
Answer: The contest was super interesting! There were so many genres I've never really experimented with before, so it was really neat to get that opportunity. As for how long it takes me to write...a first draft usually takes me about 8-12 hours (for 2k - 3k words).

Editing takes me a few more hours (depending on how rough the rough draft was), but probably between 2 and 4 hours. After that, it's off to my beta reader, then back to me for final touches. So...really...on average...14 or so hours.

5. How were you feeling when you entered the contest? Like we're you feeling confident? Or we're you just trying your luck?
Answer: I was definitely just trying my luck. Prior to this contest, I was averaging 1400 words every 2 - 3 weeks and the idea of large word counts was very intimidating.

Honestly, I just entered the first round thinking that was the only round I would complete. ...and then the group was just so lovely I couldn't leave.

6. How would you describe yourself to other writers?
Answer: I...don't think I've ever had to describe myself to other writers, not sure how I would if I had to. I guess I'd say I'm a writer who likes to have fun with her characters. I try not to take myself too seriously and I like to make people laugh.

7. What is your favourite genre?
Answer: Fantasy and SciFi for sure, although I'm kind of intrigued by action now...

8. Who or what inspires your writing?
Answer: Oh, so many people. There are so many great authors that have helped shape my style. Robert Jordan, David Eddings, Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, L.M Montgomery. I'm also a huge fan of humorist writing and Erma Bombeck was a huge inspiration in that regard. My earliest influences were probably Christopher Pike and Bruce Coville though. Both had a way of creating characters and stories that on the surface seemed horrific and terrifying, but were always layered with such beauty and humanity. They saw the world differently and it made me want to be a writer. To be able to give to others what they had given to me.

9. How long have you been writing? Like, did you start after joining wattpad or you used to write before?

Answer: I've been writing since I was about 12, so quite a while now. I've kind of gone in and out with it. I wrote a lot as a teeneager, but after High School, I kind of set it aside (as much as any writer can set it aside anyways...the stories were always there in my head, I just stopped putting them on paper.)

Then, a few years ago I wrote a story for my parents (about my parents)....and the writing bug came back and bit me. I started dabbling with another story and looking for a community to work with and get some feedback. That's how I found Wattpad.

I didn't get very involved with Wattpad until late last year though, and now here I am!

10. If you could pass on a single piece of advice to anyone who just started writing, what would it be?

Answer: The most impactful advice anyone ever gave me was "Be a sponge." Watch, listen and absorb the world around you. People are great source material. Also, learn to edit, or get a good editor. It really does matter.
