Goodbye... Error

Hibana was trying to sleep, but they couldn't sleep... Something was stopping them... They kept on seeing horrible things...

Monsters... Humans... All of them were dying... Souls were being shattered, or tied up with blue strings... What was going on?

The young child curled up underneath their blankets as they tied to figure what was going on? What were they seeing? What were they feeling? What was wrong with them?!

They closed their uncovered eye, but it only made things worse... They started to hear things... Screams... Cries for help... Cries for mercy...

And someone's cries, as they begged and pleaded for it to stop... Hibana wanted it to stop!

They whimpered, and they started to cry, and when they did, one of the nice soft feelings in their Soul reacted to it, and this time, it was different...

"Oh Hibana... I'm so sorry... Those are my memories..."

"Who... Who are you?"

"In another Multiverse... I was forced to be Error... But I was born as Goth... I am known as Searcher... And everything is going to be okay..."

Hibana felt a pair of ghostly arms hug them, and slowly, their tears stopped.

"You are seeing my memories Hibana.."

"Why? Why am I seeing them, and why am I seeing them now?"

"I... I was brought here against my free will... I was kidnapped, just when I was about to get my happy ending... The villain of my tale didn't like the fact that he had lost, and this was his revenge... I was taken to his castle and tortured... My Magic was drained, and I was subjected to the same horror that this Error is going through, only that the crystal is located in the eyesocket that is covered.."

"But if you were taken to his castle, then how I am here, in this place, and why can I feel you? And is the crystal hurting you?"

"My Multiverse was once one with other, but due to his actions, the villain tore it into two different Multiverses. What happens in one, affects the other... As for the Crystal... Well... It doesn't hurt anymore, but like Error's, it is draining my Magic, but since we're so far away from the castle, he can't increase the speed of how fast the crystal drains my Magic, so that has gone down, and thanks to my Counterpart sharing his Magic with me, I am starting to recover faster than I can be drained."

"What does that have to do with me?"

"It's not you, it's me... Everyone in my Multiverse has a counterpart in the other Multiverse... To make a long story short, my counterpart is pregnant.. However, I am not.. For the balance to be kept between the two Multiverses, I need to conceive a child of my own, but since that is impossible, both of us are trapped in the bodies of our other selves."

"Other selves?"

"Yes, due to a Fate's plan, a shard of my own Soul was taken to create what could be called a 'clone' of myself, and it was taken back in time, where it became it's own being. Solas, the other nice soft feeling that you can feel. He is technically my child, we have separate bodies, but after the shard that was taken from me found it's way back to me, we share a Soul... Basically, we are two different beings, but due to our Codes, and our Soul, only one of us can have a physical body at a time."

"But where do I come into this? If you and Solas are supposed to be here, how did I end up here?"

"As I said before, it's the balance between mine, and my Counterpart's Multiverse, since he is pregnant, and I'm not, to keep the balance, we can not use our original bodies... To make another long story short, Solas can control and take over my body, and I can take over and control his body... The villain wanted to use Solas as part of his plan of revenge on my Counterpart, and our Multiverses, when his plan for them failed... So, I locked him as deep within our Soul, as I could, to keep him safe, but when my Counterpart was forced into the body of his other self to stop the balance between us from being corrupted, and causing the destruction of our Multiverses, I was forced into Solas's body."

"Oh, that makes some sense... But it doesn't explain me..."

"You were 'born' after I took a tumble down a vent shaft, during my escape, when I realised that Solas's body was small enough to crawl through a vent that I was too big to fit in. I cracked the skull during the tumble, and I developed a form of amnesia. You were a blank state, and over time, you grew strong enough to actually become an aspect of me, instead of being me in Solas's body with amnesia. You have your own Magic now, and your own identify... Just think of you, me, and Solas as someone with a form of Dissociative Identity Disorder, but each personality has their own body, but only one body can be active at a time."

"Does that mean that you're technically my parent since you're the original personality?"

"Yes... You know... You already know this stuff..."

"I do, but actually talking about it, and getting more information about it... I'm starting to understand it now... I'm starting to understand what's going on, and why Yami is here... They're my Counterpart, aren't they?"

"Yeah... They were sent to keep an eye on you, in a form that the others knew that I couldn't resist..."

"What do you mean by that?"

"I'm the reason why you love cats so much."

Hibana started to laugh.

"Get some sleep Kid, I'll keep my memories away now that I know that they're bothering you."

"Okay..." Hibana yawned. "G'Night Mama..."

"Goodnight Hibana... Sweet dreams..."

Hibana yawned again, and then, slowly, they went to sleep as someone started to sing a part of a song...

"Inside I've been shaken, my sanity taken. Our broken halves, they intertwine, from once was yours and once was mine...

I'm breakable... Unbreakable...

I'm shakeable... Unshakeable...

I'm breakable... Unbreakable...

Unbreakable...

Glassy sky above...

As long as I'm alive, you will be part of me.

Glassy sky - the cold, the broken pieces of me...

Sometimes I wonder what's beyond I tried many times to make it up to you... Can somebody tell me what to do..."

------

Yami sighed, Hibana was deep asleep.

Unlike what many thought, the darker sides of the guardians didn't have the power over dream walking. Their lights, their other selves did. It wasn't a very easy power to control, as the mind was a twisty, turney, thing and it was easy to get lost there.

The feline could not follow his light into those dreams and memories, and he was worried that his light would become lost in the conflicting thoughts of their elder selves.

The shadows were of the void, the dark, but they were not evil. They were protectors while the lights were the healers, their abilities were more suited to protect their other.

Oh.. their lights were insanely powerful, they were just as powerful as the shadows were, but their lights were happy being looked after in the long run.

Mind you, he was pretty sure that Umbra took his overprotectiveness to a new level with his bro-con thing.

"Hiba..." He mewed, ears flickering as he watched Hibana's face twitch in their sleep, he was in his more human form, and he was practically draped across them.

The corners of Hibana's mouth twitched, as if they were snarling in their sleep as their face changed... As tear markings, like Error's, appeared on their face, before the markings changed into Solas's swirls... The facial markings continued to shift, and to change, before they settled down, in the form of multiple spots that were scattered across their cheeks...

"Hiba... must wake." Yami whispered, sniffling, as tears slipped down his face. He could feel the confliction of selves from their other self. He did not understand why the main other self did not return the Error to themselves, as the spilt between him and Error made their mind more fragile.

Gently, he reached up and he pushed a tear onto his hand and he stared at it, and a few moments later, it transmuted into golden energy that showed he was still the Shadow Guardian, even if he was Yami. He stretched his hand out, and the energy thickened into string, almost like the Errors, which he quickly knit into a choker and he placed around Hibana's throat. The golden glow faded, leaving a nice looking 'gold cloth' with white markings etched into it, showing that his others powers were leaking into it.

"Don't leave Yami alone." The feline shadow guardian whispered, the choker, if it worked, would keep the lights selves separate unless they wished to become one again...

----

Error sighed in relief as the final condition for his return to who he used to be fell into place... He had originally planned to let Goth reabsorb him in the months following the final battle with Fear, but when he took Goth to this Multiverse, and he started to touture, and drain, the young Death... Error had to stay awake...

He had to increase the speed of how fast Goth was reabsorbing, and reclaiming, the Mana that he had as Error, even if Fear took most of it away, the connection that was created during that process was needed...

Error had slowly been snitching together what he could of the shattered mess that had been created when Fate took him, and now, thanks to the Shadow Guardian's 'gift', the threads that were Solas and Hibana were different from his own thread, so he wouldn't accidentally reabsorb them now... Goth... No... He wanted to give them a chance to live... To love...

And now, he could finally sleep as he slowly merged the threads that were the two, original, halves of Goth together...

You Are very Tired.

I know... It's time for me to sleep... The Kid just cares too much.. The lights are the healers, but their weakness, or perhaps, their greatest strength, is that they care too much...

Which is why they are in pairs, my dear Destroyer.

Yes.. this is why they are in pairs...

I thought that you'd be asking who I am by now.

Why do I need to ask... I knew that this was going to happen.

Then Sleep Error, sleep and rejoin yourself.

I will... Good luck..

Goodbye Error.

Goodbye Fate.

A song without words filled the air, a sweet lullaby for one that would never wake up again.

Error yawned, and he went to sleep, never to awake again, as he listened to the song of the Fate that had created him as she sang him to sleep.

Miles away, in the real world, Umbra looked up from the campfire that he was tending to, Seeker and Sketch were deep asleep, they had wanted to rest before they arrived at the hideout, in the morning.

Their other self was so close.. yet so far.

"Goodbye Error." He whispered to the wind, the only thing that heard his words.

In their sleep, Hibana smiled, they could feel it... Someone who had been hurt for so long had finally found their peace..

Yami sighed in relief, resting his head over Hibana's chest where their Soul was, and he went to sleep.

Hibana started to snuggle Yami.
