31 - Dress Shopping

<Y/n POV>

Today is finally Friday, the day before my birthday. The guys and I had made plans to go shopping for clothes and stuff after school. Taehyung's mom is back as well so she was driving us all there. In the backseat is Hobi, Jungkook and I, and in the passenger seat is Namjoon. Jungkook said that Jimin couldn't make it. As for Taehyung, he told me that he was going to help Irene with her interview again.

This week, I had felt so distant to him. Even though we were together for some time, he spends his time with her. I miss him, but it's times like this when I'm thankful for having this group of people with me. They all make me feel like family.

"Mrs Kim, thank you for driving us to the mall," Namjoon spoke whilst Taehyung's mother was driving.

"Oh, it's really no problem dear, I needed to get a gift for my daughter-in-law anyway." She chimed which made me blush by her reference to me.

"That really isn't necessary, you've already done so much for me," I added but she just chuckled.

"Sweetheart, you're my daughter now, and as your mom, I would feel guilty if I didn't."

Her words, once again, made me blush. I just stayed quiet since I knew that nothing I said would change her mind. She's persistent, just like her son.

We were finally at the mall and had decided to split up, I went with Jungkook and Hobi to find a dress while Namjoon went with 'Mom' to do some miscellaneous shopping.

"So, where do you want to start, Y/n?" Hobi asked me.

Before I could even begin to think about it, Jungkook grabbed both of our hands and dragged us into a store.

"Here! They sell beautiful dresses!" He crooned while Hobi and I just laughed at his enthusiasm.

"Ok, let's search." I chimed in happily and started to browse through the dresses.

They were beautiful, it makes me wonder how Jungkook knew about this place when he's socially awkward around girls. There were party dresses, cocktail dresses, formal dresses. It was an emporium for dresses.

We had been browsing for a few minutes and I found some really pretty ones, but they just weren't my style. The boys were looking as well.

"Noona! Look at this one!" Jungkook called out as he ran up to me with a purple dress in his hand.

It was a purple flare dress with thin bands holding up the bust. It was pretty, but I would have to wear a shawl with it if u wanted to cover up my marks.

"Ah, how's about something a bit more... long-sleeved?" I said. Jungkook scanned the dress and nodded while Hobi ran up to me holding another garment in his hand.

"Y/n, what about this?" He chimed.

It was a colourful dress. There was an ombré of different shades of each colour of the rainbow and at the back was a lace that was a thread from the waist up to the neck.

"Ah, maybe something a little less... luminous?" I added again. Both boys just sighed at me and put the dresses back on the railing.

Another few minutes had passed and Namjoon and Taehyung's mom had walked in.

"How is it that we finished faster than you guys?" She chuckled as we all stood there embarrassed, "come on Namjoonie, let's help them."

With that, she put her bags down and began browsing through the dresses with us. Namjoon just looked lost, he picked up one of the intricately laced dressed and held it up in the air.

"How do you even put this on...?" He asked ostentatiously to which we all laughed at his confusion.

All that could be heard in the room at this given point in time was the sound of hangers scraping across the rail. That was until Taehyung's mother had gasped and picked one out.

"Y/n! What about this?" She crooned excitedly.

The dress was beautiful. It was an off-shoulder dress with long sleeves that were light and fluffy in material. She waist was covered with a draping of sorts and it was the colour of snow.

"Yes! I love it!" I exclaimed, resulting in a look of shock from all of the boys since they were helping for so long.

Sadly, they didn't have one in my size at the store, but they promised that they would order it from another branch for pick up tomorrow.

Taehyung's mother had just smiled at me and walked up to the counter to pay for the dress. I knew that she wouldn't allow me to pay for it so I just thanked her and gave her a tight hug.

Later that day, we had gotten home to an empty house. This house feels colder these days. Being alone with Yeontan just doesn't feel the same. It's depressing. I know that Taehyung's mom is here as well, but it isn't the same.

I just want to be in his arms again. I want to talk to him and express my feelings. Slowly but surely, liquid began to accumulate in my eyes and brim on my eyelids. I feel like I'm losing my sanity.

Before I knew it, I was already in tears. Icy cold pendants fell from my orbs from just thinking about how much of a terrible girlfriend I must be. My tears aren't enough to express the hurt that I felt.

I miss you Taehyung. I miss having another breath in the room.

<Taehyung POV>

"Thank you for your help today!" Irene chimed while flinging her arms around me and pulling me closer.

Just as Irene broke the hug, she looked at me and smiled. Honestly, it sometimes makes me uncomfortable. To be polite, I gave her a courtesy smile but I just really want to help her with this interview. Anything that's important to a friend is important to me.

Her hugs are always so abrupt. Every time I try to shake it off, she makes her grip tighter. The only way to satisfy her is to hug back. It worries me when she does it in front of Y/n though, I don't want her to get the wrong idea.

I do, however, believe that she trusts me as much as I trust her. She went to the mall with Jungkook and my Hyungs to do some shopping. My mom is back in town as well so she offered to take them.

Irene has always been the persistent type. She first asked me out because she believed that I would be good for her image. My visuals were perfect for her modelling career and that's the only reason that I agreed. She would post photo's of us like no man's business. I wanted to help out a friend.

After she had gotten the gig that she was aiming for, she made me promise to keep helping her. We did, however, break up when she left but none of the guys know the truth behind why we even started dating in the first place.

Just as I walked out of her house, my phone vibrated.

✨JiminiePabo✨

<Dude, you busy?]

[Nah>
[What's up?>

<Just wanna ask you something, meet me at the bridge?]

[Sure, See you there.>

With that, I left to meet Jimin. He could have just asked me by text, so I guess it must be important.
As I approached the bridge, I saw Jimin standing with his elbows leaning against the railing.

"Like what you see?" I asked to catch his attention. He looked at me and chuckled at my question.

"You know, Taehyung, we pass this bridge almost every day," He retorted, "yet, we never seem to appreciate the view."

Taking note of his words, I stepped forward and matched his position, leaning against the railing and looking at the view.

"Is that why you called me here?" I asked, earning a light chortle from Jimin.

"Irene's interview, when is it?" He asked without even glancing at me.

"Tomorrow, I'm gonna meet her at the studio in the morning," I replied.

"What about Y/n?" He asked, which was weird since he usually never asks about her.

"I don't think she'd want to come," I chimed in.

"No, I meant because tomorrow is..." he started but instead, changed his question, "anyway, I wanted to ask about something."

"You can't have her, don't even ask" I spoke mercilessly, thinking that he liked Y/n or something, but instead, he grinned at me.

"I wasn't planning on it," he chimed in, "what do you see in her?"

"In Y/n? Well..." I paused to think about my words, "I don't think it's about 'seeing' anything in her but more about how she makes me feel."

"I don't get it," Jimin spoke out confusedly.

"When I'm with her, I feel like nothing can go wrong. I feel safe when she's with me," I spoke out but took a breath to further explain, "Y/n has changed me by showing me the flaws in the world. She's taught me how to value what I have."

"Of course you valued what you had," Jimin trailed on, "you always have." In response, I smiled and shook my head to deny his statement.

"I accepted it, not value," I cooed, "by Y/n showing me the flawed part of the world, I was able to understand the worth of what I do have."

After I finished my sentence, I got the feeling that what I said had hit home for Jimin. He seemed to be thinking hard since there was silence between us with tension so thick that it could be cut with a knife.

"I see..."
