As the boys walked down the path, Virgil started to recognize a few areas around him. The mall, the theater, a few restaurants, the school, and a few shops. Finally, after a 20 minute walk, Roman led him into a small corner coffee shop.
"All that for a coffee shop, there's a Starbucks across the street from my hou-"
"Virgil, hush. This is my families shop, I promise you that anything you've ever had at Starbucks it ten times better here ," he graciously opens the door for Virgil and they step inside.
When they entered the coffee shop, Virgil noted that it had all the warm, cozy, feel as a family restaurant, but the aesthetic of a normal locally or business owned coffee shop.
"Hey ma! I'm here with Virgil!" Roman shouted to his mom in the back of the store. When she looked up, Virgil spotted a middle aged woman with long curling brown hair, chocolate eyes, and smiling lines. She seemed very kind.
"Aww, hello! You must be Virgil. Roman has told me so much about you." She gushed, hugging Virgil. He turned to give Roman a look, he was too busy blushing to notice.
"Ma..." Roman protested.
"Oh Roman hush now, you've brought me a handsome young man. And he seems like he has some decency! Let me gush, dear,"
"Ma! We just want some coffees or a sweet treat," Roman commented
"Oh, well. Yes of course that's fine. If you make it yourself it'll be on the house," Roman's mom said and Roman dragged him back into the kitchen.
"Here, grab an apron. You don't have to do anything but I don't want you to get dirty." Roman smirked and began to make some fancy looking coffee. Even the simplest things, Roman makes look like an intricate work of art. While he put the coffees to blend, he took out some dough and began to knead it.
"I'm gonna make some banana bread, it's my Pa's recipe. He makes it all the--" Roman's face went sullen,"Well... Used to make it all the time, I guess. But he.... Nevermind," Roman turned back to the dough. When he finished make the bread, he stuck it in a pan and into the oven.
In order to lift spirits from the previous statement, Virgil grabbed a handful of flour. He approached Roman and tapped his shoulder. He turned around and Virgil placed a hand on his chestz pretending to lean in for a kiss. Just when Roman closed his eyes...
SMACK
Roman had been fashioned with a quite stylish cloud of flour across his neck, face, and chest
"Oh you are so asking for it," Roman reached behind him and grabbed flour, smearing it across Virgil's neck and chest. The two were in an all out flour frenzy. As Roman wipes a hefty amount in Virgil's leg, both boys stop. Looking into each other's eyes, neither of the boys had ever felt so happy, so fufilled,

In that moment the whole world freezed. Their eyes fluttered shut as they neared each other. Closer and closer they were to locking lips when suddenly,
"Boys!" Roman's mother had walked into the kitchen and the boys ripped apart,"I send you in here for a coffee and snack and it's a pig pen! Clean up, now!" She turned around muttering something about the wasted flour and how expensive it'd be to replace it. The boys looked at each other, they were so close but they both understood that the moment was over. There would be other opportunities and a whole night was still ahead of them.
