Ace yaps. A lot.
OK FOLKS. Buckle up because today is a fun one!
First I'm gonna start with some DnD art and a MASSIVE lore drop about that.

NS!derrick is my favorite Derrick. He's so fucking done.
Tbf Derrick is just suicidal in general (ish, it's complicated)

I love his eight eyes hehe

Cult brothers in a nutshell

Also fun fact, as a kid Derrick played the fiddle. The cult told him that he was the best there's ever been. /ref
Ok so about our Halloween session. Our party finally went into the temple/dungeon thingy we'd been asked to clear out and ultimately met basically an evil god who roasted us, forced us to kneel, and let our paladin try to get one hit on him.
He then fucking blasts the paladin to death.
Our paladin is dead.
He then thanos snaps our wizard.
Our wizard is dead.
He keeps going.
He kills Derrick's adopted son. In front of Derrick. (Note here that I apparently broke people's hearts with the guttural scream I let out at that)
I'm like ok, it's my turn to die soon.
After more brutal murders including making our rogue into a PUDDLE, it's down to me and the ranger.
He kills the ranger.
It is JUST ME.
He offers me a deal. Join him and I can live. Because Derrick is a demigod and this dude kinda fucks with that.
Derrick hesitates too long bc the Alan on his shoulder is like "hell no" and gets killed.
Then we all get revived because OUR FAVORITE NPC HAS COME TO SAVE THE DAY. HE STARTS FIGHTING THE BIG BAD. THE BIG BAD IS SCARED OF HIM AND PREPARES A BIG LAST.
FAVORITE NPC TURNS TO US. LIKE THAT FUCKING ANIME TURN.
AND SACRIFICES HIMSELF.
THEN RIGHT AFTER THAT THE BIG BAD KILLS EVERYONE BUT ME AGAIN.
Derrick then goes super saiyan (necrotic shroud) and fucking MAGICS A SECOND GUN INTO EXISTENCE.
I get to roll to attack literally god. I MISS BY ONE POINT. the dc was 16 and I rolled 15.
I fucking die and we're all in our paladin's god's heaven. Good god gives us all a second chance and levels us up twice.
We are all now traumatized.
Anyways.
I have a oneshot in a week and a half that I'm running. It's Danganronpa. I'm working through cases and making it into a dnd session. I'm adding combat. It's great. So now I'm making it all of your problems. You will sit here and listen to me yap about it. And you will give me your honest reactions to the stuff I say so I can use it as feedback (please).
Ok starting off, we're playing with 18 total students, 11 NPCs (I upped the number because if no players die, then I would run out of NPCs to kill if I didn't add more).
Here's the NPC roster. All of the default killers and victims are NPCs. And by default, only one of them lives. Have fun guessing who.
Kai (Ultimate Astronomer) (hmm this guy sounds familiar)
Arachne (Ultimate Archer)
Cammy (Ultimate Knife Thrower)
Nicki (Ultimate Birdwatcher)
Flauros (Ultimate Medium)
Will (Ultimate Videographer)
Zeben (Ultimate Medium)
Iris (Ultimate Flautist)
Penelope (Ultimate Forensic Analyst)
Derrick (Ultimate Gunslinger)
Aster (Ultimate ???)
Also each of them has a different dnd class, yall don't need to know abt that besides the fact that sometimes those classes are important to the cases (ex. Chapter one, the culprit uses a spell only their class and two other classes can use to break into the incinerator). Spells are never used to directly murder though because that gets too hectic and whatnot.
Anyways I'm gonna summarize the plot. If we manage to get to every case it will look like the following:
(Warning, my ass may get jumped for some of the images so if you don't see something, it probably got taken down)
Chapter One.
Motive: loved ones are held hostage.
(A body has been discovered...)

"The victim was Flauros Thraw. The cause of death was blood loss. Additional injuries were found on the body..."
Essentially Flauros offered to do a seance with someone, that person hit him in the back of the head with something that left long, thin indents. They then used a meat saw from the kitchen to saw him in half, and two jump ropes to hang the two halves (they used the pulley system because their weak ass can't lift half a dead body). They also used a stack of chairs to reach the ceiling beam to secure the knot. After that, they used a spell to get into the incinerator and burn Flauros's seance materials because they were unholy.
Two things in particular tell us who committed the murder. Can you guess what those are?
Here's the answer:
1. Using a spell to get into the incinerator. Will had the keys because he was on trash duty that night, and he had an alibi (zeben). Meaning whoever got into the incinerator needed to get in by other means. The rogues (dnd class) in the class all had their lock picking tools discarded with their phones, meaning there is one option left- a spell was cast. There is only one spell that unlocks doors and that's Knock, which is used by bards, sorcerers, and wizards.
2. The wounds on the back of Flauros's head. They were caused by something long and thin.
With these two things in mind, it points towards one culprit...
Last chance to guess!
"...the killer is you, Iris Pineborough, the Ultimate Flautist!"
(Iris is a bard btw)
Anyways I don't have Iris art so onto chapter two!
Chapter Two
Motive: a single wish of the killer's choice, within reason.
The party is going about their day when there is someone discovered in the girls' locker room...
Cammy, the ultimate Knife Thrower, is dead.
Ok so I don't have the full case lined up, but it was set up as an overdose but in reality she was drowned.
And all of this was a joint effort between the killer... and Cammy herself.
"You killed her, didn't you..."

"... Nicki Forrester, the Ultimate Birdwatcher?"
For backstory, Nicki went to Cammy because Nicki was planning to sacrifice herself to use her wish to end the killing game, but Cammy argued it wouldn't work if it was a suicide and offered herself up. She wanted to have Nicki drown her and make it look like a suicide. Then, they could hopefully gain the wish and use it to put the game to an end.

Cammy sprite sketch because I'm making a flashback video with voice acting for the party. (Also all body discoveries and executions for the default versions will be animated too)
So it's punishment time for Nicki, and no, the game doesn't end. Monokuma overrules it.

A glimpse at something odd about Nicki's execution.
Now... onto chapter three.
Motive: Two truths and a lie
The party is given crazy secrets about each other/the NPCs (whether the names of whose secrets are on it is TBD, I assume it's yes bc how else would the killer know that their victim had their secrets?)
Anyways during free time AFTER this motive is dropped, the party walks in on Arachne and Derrick making out. Sorry yall Derrick is kissing a woman. Though he seems pretty uncomfortable about it.
After that a few days go by and Derrick slowly looks more and more sickly until one day, he starts coughing blood and Kai catches him before realizing that the gunslinger has just died in his arms (possible Kairrick/monkslinger).

(Also yes he looks a lil younger than in dnd bc he's 18 here and 28 in the campaign)

So the class finds out that Derrick was obviously poisoned, but where did the poison come from?
There are two options:
1. The pharmacy in the Science wing, which only science ultimates can access.
2. The poison coated darts that Derrick also had in the Ultimate Gunslinger's focus room, which could be accessed by any Athletic ultimate.
Penelope confirms that none of the poisons in the pharmacy had been touched, as she had set up a trap and also they were all still sealed shut/not missing any liquid.
Meaning the only way someone could have gotten poison was from Derrick's poison darts, which only an athletic ultimate could access. If there aren't any players who are ultimates, that leaves only Arachne, as Cammy is dead.
Arachne argues that she had no way to poison him, as if she'd shot him with his poison darts, then he would have told someone by now that he had been shot.
As crazy as it is, she poisoned him by putting the poison in her own mouth and making out with him.

Arachne did get some antidote afterwards, but since Derrick had previously spilled the majority, there is not enough to fully heal her. And so during her execution, she dies to the poison.
Yeah Arachne had some BIG secrets yall and as soon as she learned Derrick had her slip of paper she was BOOKING IT.
Chapter four... probably the craziest motive.
Whoever successfully gets away with a kill gets to escape the killing game with one person of their choice.
So uh. This happens.

Kind of. Anyways no more Kyoko Kirigiri helping the party.
It's a reverse Sayaka kind of situation. Penelope is stabbed and there's a blood message on the wall behind her. BUT there are two stab wounds, in different sizes, and the blood message was faked because there's no blood on her hands, therefore Penelope didn't write it.
The numbers in blood spell out Will's name, and he confesses to the murder, claiming after the message that yes, they caught him and he must've missed Penelope writing the blood message. And that he stabbed her twice.
1. The blood message was faked.
2. The stab wounds are two different sizes.
3. There was not enough blood to write the blood message, so the blood had to have come from somewhere else (blood samples and transfusions and whatnot are stored in the science wing, which only science ultimates can access).
Therefore Will is lying, and even if he was the killer, he had some help from a science ultimate. It's also implied he and the other person BOTH stabbed Penelope.
Why would Will lie though?
Unless...
"The real culprit was never Will. It was you, Zeben Goldberg, the Ultimate Hydroponics Specialist!"
Backstory is that Will tried to kill Penelope by luring her into the kitchen, but he missed the first stab, sending it into her arm. Since he was sleeping with Zeben, Zeben heard when Will left and had followed him. Zeben grabbed a second knife from the rack and delivered the killing blow because he didn't want Will to get executed if he was caught. They decided that they'd pin it on Will, and everyone would be led to believe that Will did it, so Zeben would win and take Will with him. It's also noted that Will may have been unable to kill Penelope because he just couldn't- he's not that kind of person.
So Zeben is executed. Whoops!
Chapter five, there isn't a motive. But a certain someone is found dead.
A certain will jones, beaten to death and slightly singed at the edges but with a smile on his face.
It's mostly through picking apart arguments and talking that the party will realize it was Kai, as the guy slips up a few times, mentioning "the camera" when there was no camera found at the scene.
Essentially, Will had spiraled so far into depression that he was going to kill himself, and was filming his suicide note when Kai walked in. Will decided to switch gears and fake being the mastermind to rile up Kai into killing him because if the mastermind dies, the killing game ends. Afterwards, Kai watched the video and realized what he'd actually done, and was ashamed of himself.

Damn it will you crazy good actor

Kai's execution sketch.
Description:
Kai sits in an observatory kind of room with a glass dome ceiling hundreds of feet up, the stars above him casting dots of light on the floor. Around him, the hundred-foot tall walls are covered in rocks in clusters like constellations. The floor beneath him slides open to reveal a layer of spikes pushing through slowly. Kai scales the rock wall as the spikes slowly rise below him. He pushes through exhaustion, pushes through when some of the rocks tase him or are blistering hot. Finally, he makes it to the top, where he sees an EXIT sign. As soon as he uses the last of his strength and pulls himself up over the edge of the rock wall, the ground shakes violently, throwing him back into the pit and impaling him on the spikes.
The last thing he tells the class though is that the burn marks on Will's body did NOT come from his Blazar attack (a series of punch attacks from a monk that deal fire damage, only done by a way of the stars monk), meaning it had to have been someone else who sabotaged the scene.
So onto chapter six/mastermind trial.
Here's what's known:
1. The mastermind messed with the crime scene to make it look like Kai dealt a Blazar attack to Will, as if to further incriminate Kai.
2. The mastermind is either still in the class or faked their death.
3. The mastermind had a hand in the creation of monokuma and the other monobots the party fights.
Sorry guys, but the mastermind isn't one you want to be the one behind the killing game...
It's our artificer (artificers are the inventor class plus have access to fire spells).
But more than that...

After Junko enoshima drove the world into despair, Zeben decided that if this was how life was now, he wanted to give Will something to make things better- a real life horror scenario for his horror loving boyfriend.
And no, Will didn't know Zeben was the mastermind. He believed Zeben died in his execution.

Zeben, having been caught, is executed via Will's unused execution.

Extra Penelope sketch because aroace lesbians are cool
Ok that's it Jesus 2400 words my bad chat anyways bye
