Chapter Seventeen
At first, I thought about running to say goodbye to Ryder. Then, I decided that I'd run back to stay, forever. I couldn't leave Ryder.
When he opened the door, I throw myself through the door and into Ryder's arms. I wasn't leaving, not ever.
It's almost a year later now and I'm happier then ever. I love Ryder; he loves me. In fact, I couldn't be better. I've got a job at the post office. I deliver the post on a dog sled. I'm getting good at driving the sled. Maybe, I'll be apart of the Iditarod dog race next time. We still have Ace and he's as good as ever. I live with him and Ryder. Without me, Lily's got nobody living in the house with her. So, she bought a dog to keep her company; a little collie called Honey. I think Ace and Honey are in love. Just like White-Fang and Collie.
Honey had four puppies a couple months ago. There were five but only four made it. The other one is buried in the garden with a wooden gravestone above her.
The other four puppies are all healthy. Little paw is the runt of the litter. He has grey and white fur with one floppy ear and one pointy ear. Rosie takes after her mother. She has reddish-brown fur and floppy collie-dog ears. Howler has grey and ginger fur and he loves to howl.
Jack is like his father. He's loyal and brave but loving and kind. He had silvery grey fur and golden eyes. I bought him a black collar, similar to Ace's brown one. He looks just like Ace except for the black tips on his ears. He shares his father's love for card games too. That's why I called him Jack. Ryder says that Ace is the Ace, he's the King and I'm the Queen, which makes Jack the Jack of Hearts.
When, the other puppies are grown up, I'm selling them to the post office so that they can have jobs as sled dogs there. That means I can still see them when I work. But, I'm keeping Jack.
Everything is perfect up here in Grayling, Alaska.
The End~
