Chapter 6: An Old-ER Friend

(Please re-read chapter 5 because I edited some stuff only if you read chapter 5 before March 18th.)

Bonnie

I smirked as I walked back to Clemont and Max. Ash's friends were still tense but the moment I released him they shifted, as if they wanted to check on him. I recognized Jimmy, who wouldn't if they've met him, but the brunette beside him was a stranger. I supposed they all knew each other well enough, that they would make a gang together.

Tyrantrum nuzzles me gently, a happy gesture that make me feel special. I smile at him and he noses his Pokeball, returning himself.

"FINALLY, FOR OUR FINAL MATCH..." The announcer sounded like they couldn't contain their excitement, "GARY VERSES THE LEADER!!!" The crowd roared, eager for a intense battle.

"Get ready to lose Leader-person!" Gary grinned, "The Great Gary Oak is going to crush you like a Caterpie!" Several people rolled their eyes. Gary puled a Pokeball off his belt, but before he could release the creature inside, a voice made him halt.

"Wait you dolt, let the referee finish." Ash. It was Ash... His voice had a coldness to it, unlike the warmth and energy it once had. Ash gave the referee a nod, allowing him to continue.

The referee cleared his throat. "Thank you." He raised his arm. "This is the final battle and it is required to dedicate this battle to someone close to you. This is also a 6-on-6 battle! The Leader, are you granting him the choice?" Ash stroked his chin, looking Gary over.

"I think he'll stand a chance." Ash finally concluded, his hand ending it's pattern across his jaw. "Alright, Gary was it? Do you want to battle my beginner team, classic team, or veteran team?"

"You can't be that strong, so I'll choose your veteran team!" Gary sneered. Ash rolled his eyes.

"Okay, now who do you dedicate this battle to?" The referee asked.

"Ash Ketchum!" Ash and Gary cried out simultaneously. The group looked at Ash wide eyed, while the inn gave Gary and our group an odd look. The referee shrugged and motioned for everyone to follow him outside.

Outside a classic field was chalked out on the dirt. Ash and Gary took their places as the crowd gathered around the battlefield.

"Face the Aura! Lucario! Let the Aura in you glow!" Ash cried out. My eyes widened a bit, that line was different from the one he used to use when he travelled with us. I wonder what happened to him...

"A Lucario huh? Well then, go Pidgeot!" Gary cried, throwing his Pokeball.

Ash nodded at Lucario and Lucario took off, faster than a flying Ninjask. Ash nodded again and then suddenly multiple Lucarios took the field. Lucario had used a extraordinary double team, which had only a faint outline. It was almost like there was more than one Lucario!

"Pidgeot! Take to the skies!" Pidgeot flapped his wings frantically, trying to avoid an easy attack. Ash nodded once more and every Lucario created a bone of green aura. They all then vaulted off of it, launching them into the air. Ash then cried out for the first time that battle. "Use clash!" Lucario unleased  Metal sound. Then dashed forwards a Bone rush at the ready. Lucario smacked Pidgeot into the air, jumped after him and slammed him down with a shining, white fist that was surrounded in a multi-colored aura. Pidgeot's feathers fluttered as he fell, fainted, to the ground.

"Pidgeot's is unable to battle! Lucario is the winner! Trainers, please choose your next Pokémon!"

"Lucario, the aura rewards you." Ash says, as Lucario nods. A beam of red light hits and engulfs Lucario, returning him to something on Ash's wrist.

"Face the Aura! It's your turn old friend! Let your blessings show!"

Before Ash's Pokemon could emerge from the burning Pokeball, Gary cried out, "Go Blastiose!" The referee brought down his hand, continuing the battle.

Gary's grin disappeared the moment he saw the flash of fire and the Pokemon the it had concealed.

"Ho-oh..." Clemont breathed.
