Chapter 2: The First Joy
I kept running until I saw a wall in front of me. Then I screeched to a stop. I fell, hurting my left wrist as I tried to stop myself. An older woman walked over to me quickly. She was tall and slender, with faded pink hair and few wrinkles. She helped me up and started walking towards a gigantic mountain. I wanted to stop at the sign that said,
but I didn't. I didn't even try. If no one wants me here then I'll keep going.
I trekked up the tall, broad mountain, not stopping at all. I'm surprised the woman isn't cold, she's wearing such short sleeves. I removed my arm from her shoulders and took off my sweatshirt, even if it didn't have sleeves, she'll be warmer due to the layers, putting it on her. Then I resumed my climb with her. I started to feel dizzy and I was about to lie down and sleep, when I saw a trail of smoke up ahead. With new found energy, I looked at her, a question written clearly on my face. She nodded and I picked her up, sprinting, at the best of my expansions, and made it to the warm, wooden cabin/ building. At least before I collapsed at the door step.
I awoke to hear water running. The woman came in and stepped back when she saw me.
"Ah. You're awake!" she smiled.
"Am I in the Pokémon Center?" I asked sitting up.
"Yes." I sighed in relief. "And no."
"Huh?"
She sighed, a glaze present on her eyes as if she was reliving a memory. "This was the first Pokémon center, which was called the herbal center." I looked at her in awe.
She turned to me, a wistful look in her eyes. "And I am the first Joy."
"Seriously?!"
She winced. " Yes. You see, Silver Mountain was a key place for trainers and Pokémon to train for something some consider impossible."
"Oh."
"Ever since-" She shakes her head fiercely. "Could you release your Pokémon so I can take a look at them?"
"Sure..." I fumbled around with my watch. I released all my Pokémon. I looked at each one with pride until I realized that I recognized every single one. The flaming Pokeball's contents wasn't in the watch. The realization hit me and I excused myself as Joy fussed with Oshawatt. I stepped out into the freezing snow, the cold biting my ears and nipping my fingers. I held up the Pokeball attentively. It warmed my hands with it's bright plume of fire.
(The Pokeball, for those who forgot:)
"Go Pokeball!" Instead of the familiar blue flash, a burst of red, hot flame emerged from the unusual Pokeball. A cry rang through the air and Joy appeared with the rest of my Pokémon from the door to see what the commotion was about.
The Pokémon had yellow plumage and white stomach. He was red and had green talons, green feathers along the edge of his wings, green band around his neck, a yellow beak, and crimson spots around his blood red eyes.
(The Pokémon:)
The Pokémon of Happiness spread his wings and cried out before flying around each of Ash Pokémon before landing before Ash.
Hello Chosen One.
Ash looked around him frantically.
A chuckled vibrated through the softly falling snow. I, Ho-oh, am talking to you telepathically.
We all froze.
After an explanation from Ho-oh...
"Okay. So I'm supposed to save the world?"
Basically.
"Alright. Let's do this!" I shout, jumping into the air and pumping my fist.
