Chapter 3 Fight
A/N: Sorry this one is a little short.
Kassidy POV
I sat in the booth at Granny's with Dylan and his friends eating my grilled cheese sandwich.
"So you two have been a thing since June, have you hooked up yet?" Neal asked. I almost choked on my sandwich. Dylan put his arm around my shoulders and pulled me close.
"Not yet." He smiled.
"The hell you waiting for? Christmas?" Gaston asked.
"We are just waiting for the right time." Dylan suggested. "Right baby?" He asked.
"Yeah.. the right time." I smiled awkwardly.
"You a virgin or something?" Neal asked. I felt my face heat up and I glared at him.
"I don't think that is any of your business Neal." I spat.
"Well, thats a yes." Gaston chuckled.
"Fuck you." I muttered.
"I think Dyl here, would have a problem with that." Gaston said and smirked at me from across the booth. I could have easily climbed over the booth and broke his nose but I pushed my temper back.
"Relax baby they are kidding." Dylan said and gave my shoulder a squeeze.
"It's not funny." I said.
"It's just a joke. Get over it." Dylan grumbled. Emma walked over and slid into the booth and onto Neals lap. Emma and I were the farthest thing from friends that we could possibly be to say we loathed each other would be an understatement. She was Killian's girlfriend during our freshman year and she broke his heart. It took a while before he was back to normal.
"Look who has graced us with her presence." I muttered. Emma rolled her eyes at me and took a french fry from my plate.
"Hows Killian?" She asked. I growled.
Neal chuckled. "Really babe? Just play nice. She's gonna be hanging out with us now that she's with Dylan. I'd like to be able to go to the movies without worrying if you two are going to pull each others hair out. Who cares about Jones anyways?" He asked.
I care about Jones.
I shook my head and shoved my plate to the middle of the table.
"I'm going home. You guys..have fun." I sighed and climbed over Dylan. He stood up and followed me as I stormed outside.
"What is your problem?" He asked as I walked to his car and opened the door and pulled my backpack out throwing it over my shoulder. He slammed the car door shut and turned me to face him backing me into the side of the car.
"Are you really that pissed off over Jones?"
"He is my best friend Dylan and I'm not going to just sit there while your friends drag his name through the mud."
Dylan rolled his eyes.
"If you really have that much of a problem with me being friends with Killian, maybe we should split up." I shrugged.
"You want to break up with me?" He asked.
"I don't know." I said and looked away from him.
"Please don't.. I know, I need to work on my anger problems Kassi but I'll figure it out. Don't break up with me. I..I love you."
I felt like I was hit in the chest with a sack of bricks at his words.
"Y..you what?" I stammered. He smiled and pushed a curl out of my eyes.
"I love you."
"I...I..I need..to go home." I said and wiggled away from him.
"I tell you I love you and you say you need to go home?" Dylan asked.
"I..no one has said that to me before okay? I need to think Dylan."
"What the hell is there to think about Kass?" He demanded.
"Just.. call me later?" I asked. He scoffed.
"Fine. Whatever." He said and started walking back into the diner.
Killian POV
I sat on the couch playing a video game.
"I Hope you did your homework first." Liam said as he came into the living room and sat down with me.
"I did." I sighed.
"Whats up? You've been in a mood all day." Liam pried.
"I don't want to talk about it Liam." I grumbled. There was a sudden pounding on the door.
"What have you done now?" Liam asked.
"Why do you automatically assume I've done something??" I demanded. Liam stood up and walked to the door and barely opened it before Kassidy barreled through the door.
"Kassidy, come in." Liam sighed. Kassidy paced in the living room in front of the TV. I moved back and forth trying to see the game between her pacing.
"I thought you went to Granny's with Dylan and his crew." I muttered.
"I did." Kassidy mumbled and kept pacing.
"Look, love can you have a mental breakdown in a different spot of the house?" I asked. She rolled her eyes and plucked the controller out of my hands and tossed it on the couch before grabbing my hand and pulling me up dragging me to my room.
"Kass what the hell is up with you?" I asked and shut my door behind us. Kassidy paced and chipped at the black polish on her fingernails.
"He said it." She said.
"Said what? What did that dick say? I'll kill him."
Kassidy shook her head.
"He said the L word." She said looking at me with sheer panic in her eyes.
"Lasagna?" I asked and smirked. She pushed my shoulder.
"No! Love, idiot! He said he loved me!" She spat and ran her hands through her hair. My heart sank and I sat on the bed trying to breath hoping she wouldn't notice how it affected me to hear that. She sat down next to me.
"What did you say?" I asked.
"..I told him I had to go and then I came here." She sighed. "What do I do?"
"Do you love him?"
"I don't know Killian. I like him. A lot and I want to see where it goes. I know you don't like him and he can be kind of a jerk but there is a softer side one you don't see."
"Probably because he hides it under the many layers of controlling assholery." I sighed.
"Killian come on.." Kassidy sighed.
"What do you want me to say Kass? I don't like the guy, I think hes a dick and I think he only said he loved you because he wants to string you along long enough to get into your pants." I said. she stood up and scoffed.
"Because it's so fucking hard to believe that somebody would love me.." She said and crossed her arms looking away from me. I sighed and stood up and put my hand on her shoulder. She shrugged away from me.
"Kass, come on I didn't mean it that way."
"You know just because thats what Emma did to you, that doesn't mean everyone is like that Killian!" I felt my blood boil at Emma's name.
"Why did you come here?" I asked glaring at her. Kassidy threw her hands up.
"Because you are my best friend and I thought maybe you could help me. But obviously that was a fucking mistake." She spat. "Maybe Dylan was right."
"About what?!" I demanded.
"About me hanging out with you. He wanted me to stop hanging out with you."
"Don't you fucking see Kass? Hes a manipulative bag of dicks! He's trying to control you."
Kassidy rolled her eyes.
"We need a break Killian. I can't do this right now." She said and shoved her way past me.
"Kass.. wait!" I said and followed her.
"Kassi, whats wrong?" Liam asked.
"Ask your dickhead of a brother." she grumbled and walked out of the house slamming the door.
"Fuck!" I sighed and ran my hand through my hair. I had never seen her so pissed. In all the years we've been friends We'd never fought like that. Ever.
"What the hell was that??" Liam demanded.
"Nothing.." I sighed and walked back into my room and slammed the door and punched it.
