'I can't come back now, Anakin. We've only just settled the base!'

'If you want to contact the Council and tell them that, be my guest. But I refuse to speak to Windu anymore than I've already endured.'

Obi-wan let out a groan and put his hand to his forehead. Pushing back his hair that swept into his eyes, he eyed the small hologram of his ex-Padawan. Anakin's blue self stood on the floor of Obi-wan's sleeping quarters, and had been the cause of Obi-wan's deep stress. R4, who connected the transmission between the planets, was in transmission mode and kept still as she projected the Jedi Knight's image. While Anakin stood with his hands in the sleeves of his robe, Obi-wan's sitting figure was seen in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. He was informed about the hanger's explosion, and how a full investigation was currently underway with the Council at its head. This meant that all Jedi Masters were to return to the temple, and Obi-wan was light years away.

'Look, Anakin, you'll need to tell the Council that it will take me at least a few days to get back there. I have to leave Sol in charge of the plans and of the surveillance of Hoth, so there are things that need to be prepped before I can be at the temple,' Obi-wan said as he pulled his hand away from his face.

'I'll say what I can,' Anakin grumbled with a glance to somewhere off the hologram. 'How is Solaris in the snow? I bet she's complaining all the time-'

'I'm not complaining as much as you do when talking about Master Windu.'

Sol entered Obi-wan's sleeping quarters unannounced, making the man and Anakin's hologram turn to the door. She wasn't one to interrupt or barge into personal quarters, but when she heard Anakin's voice, and the way he was about to badmouth her, Sol had to intervene. Because of Obi-wan and Sol's recent heart-to-heart in the temporary hanger, Sol hoped that the Master wouldn't be too offended that she entered his quarters without an invitation.

While Obi-wan's attention was on the woman who entered his room, Anakin took the moment to stare at her new attire. With her large blue coat on, Sol threw herself down on the edge of Obi-wan's bed with some hardship. Her arms barely relaxed as she placed her fully gloved hands on her knees, which was the first time Anakin had seen her wearing gloves that weren't fingerless. Her hair was tied back in a low bun which was wrapped in braids to condense its size and allow her to pull her hood up over her head. When he saw the furry rim around the hood, Anakin wished he could see how Sol looked with it up and see her face amongst the white fluff.

'The temple's hanger has just been bombed,' Obi-wan informed her and her jaw dropped.

'What?!' she exclaimed, looking to Anakin's hologram. 'Today?!'

'This afternoon, yes. Unfortunately, some were in the hanger when it exploded. A few clones and a handful of Jedi, along with the maintenance droids. But luckily, Snips and Shan, who were nearby at the time, were fine.'

'Ahsoka was down there? Why?' Obi-wan questioned.

'She says she was waiting for Revan Shan, who was in the hanger. They made it down the hall before it happened, but they're being questioned by the Council as we speak.'

'Why would Ahsoka be near the hanger with Revan Shan?'

'They seem to have been rather close, lately. When I saw them this morning, they said they were going to the sparring yard. But when I found them, they were heading away from the hanger, which is several floors away. I get the feeling that Snips lied to me. Why? I'm not sure, but I'll be getting it out of her soon.'

While Obi-wan and Anakin talked, Sol sat in a pile of nerves. She knew why Ahsoka and Revan were down near the hanger today. She cursed herself for not trying to stop Ahsoka from following after Revan, but at the same time, she also wouldn't have liked to hear that Revan could have been hurt. But Ahsoka was under the impression that she was doing Sol a favour, and that if she could finally get the information that Sol was looking for, Ahsoka could say that she was the one to finally confirm that Sol was a part of the Shan family.

Ahsoka was now being questioned by the Council, and Sol wasn't there to help plead her case. She couldn't even tell Anakin the truth and hope that as Ahsoka's Master, he would stand by his Padawan's innocence. Sol felt awful and couldn't believe that she was stuck on Hoth with a mission to complete, while the Jedi Temple was metaphorically and somewhat literally on fire.

'Well, sit tight, Anakin. I'll send a transmission through Artoo to the Council when I'm on my way,' Obi-wan's farewell made Sol pull herself back into the room and blink at Anakin's hologram. 'Stay safe, and may the Force be with you.'

'And with you, Master,' Anakin's gaze switched from Obi-wan to Sol, who he wanted to grin at and say more than what he could. 'You, too, Solaris.'

'Thank you, Ani. May the Force be with you.'

Sol watched Anakin's hologram quiver before the transmission was cut. Her heart sunk when R4's front panel lit up from being operational again, and she made some boops to voice her concern for brother's Master. Sol wanted to throw her face into her hands at the thought of Ahsoka and Revan nearly being blown to bits on the lower floors of the temple. She knew that they were there to sneak through the Jedi Order records, and everyone was suspicious at why they were so close to the hanger when their alibi said they were heading for the sparring yard. Sol felt awful, yet she couldn't express it or work towards clearing her conscience.

'Now, would you like to tell me why Ahsoka and Revan were near the hanger when the bomb went off?'

'Have I been wearing a large sign of my forehead since we've been here?' Sol said without missing a beat. Obi-wan looked slightly amused at her reply but clasped his hands in his lap as he waited for a reply from the younger Jedi.

If they were in a more subdued situation, Sol's jaw would have dropped, and her eyes would be as wide as plates. She would try to babble her way out of telling the truth, but Obi-wan's unwavering stare would eventually make her cave. She would spill her secrets and Sol would feel silly when Obi-wan would shake his head with a chuckle, saying that it wasn't that big of a deal. Sol hoped that this was how the next conversation would play out, but her fears were deeply rooted in her bones. She was caught, and the consequences had occupied her mind for weeks.

'I always say this to Anakin, and I'll say this to you; be mindful of your emotions, Sol. I can feel that you're anxious through the Force, and when Anakin mentioned Ahsoka and Revan, your signature immediately flared,' Obi-wan said. 'If there's something you know, it would only be right to tell me now.'

'I can tell you the first half...'

Obi-wan motioned his hand for Sol to continue. After venting to him in the hanger two days before, Sol had seen Obi-wan in a new light. He listened to her explanation of growing up away from the other younglings, as Master Yoda's special training was intensive and needed to be one-on-one. Obi-wan didn't interrupt when Sol talked about the neglect she felt when her Master would go on missions without her, and he listened to how she felt cared for when Obi-wan put her forward for being Padme Amidala's bodyguard.

So, when Obi-wan wanted an explanation of her involvement with Ahsoka and Revan's situation, Sol let the story unfold. She mentioned her encounter in the ancient temple on Ahch-To, and how Satele Shan revealed that Sol was her descendant. After saying she visited the archives and then met Revan Shan, Sol decided to stop. She would leave Revan to explain his side, which she also wanted to hear, and for them both to prove that Ahsoka was just trying to help.

'Well, breaking into the Jedi records wasn't the best method for this...' Obi-wan put his hand to his beard while taking in all the information. 'But I suppose it's sort of like what happened with Kamino.'

'Where you lost a planet?'

'I didn't lose a planet, it wasn't documented.'

Sol let out a small laugh, but restrained herself in hopes to not push her luck with Obi-wan's understanding. She also didn't want to admit that telling Obi-wan everything was a huge relief.

Her shoulders felt lighter, and her mind didn't feel as scrambled. Where meditation didn't work, talking with someone who listened was the best method. When Sol felt troubled with her feelings, she talked to Anakin, and he wouldn't judge her or tell her to 'mind her emotions'. And now that she had told Obi-wan about Satele, he didn't accuse her of something, or rush to contact the Council to discuss her banishment from the Order. She felt understood by Obi-wan, and he understood her desire for a connection to her possible family, even if it was not the Jedi way.

'I'll need to prepare you with the plans here. I have to go back to the temple to investigate this bombing, but don't fret, Sol, I won't tell the Council about this Satele Shan,' Obi-wan reached out and placed a hand on Sol's knee. It was comforting and Sol smiled at the Jedi Master next to her.

'So, you still don't know who Satele is?'

'I'm afraid I've never heard that name. But like you said, that could be for a reason.'

'Should I be wary of the Council knowing?'

'Once Revan's questioning is done, I'm sure you will have your answer.'

---

While standing in the hallway, Anakin waited for his Padawan and Revan Shan to exit the conference room. Once the Council were sure that there weren't any more possible threats in the temple, the first two people present near the scene were called in for questioning. Ahsoka looked uneasy as she was called in by Master Secura, and Anakin tried to give her encouraging nod before the double doors were closed behind her. In the time they were in there, Anakin had informed Obi-wan and Sol about the explosion and had spent the remainder of the time with his eyes closed to meditate.

It had been close to thirty minutes when one of the doors opened. Anakin was pulled from the thoughts of how Sol's hair appeared red in the sunlight, and looked to see Ahsoka slipping into the hall. She was lonesome, making Anakin glance back to the doors with the anticipation of Revan's exit, but he never appeared.

'They're still questioning him,' she said in a small voice.

Ahsoka was more subdued due to the seriousness of the situation and her orange skin had paled at the act of standing in front of the Council. Questions had been thrown from her left and right, so Ahsoka was particularly quiet in the presence of her Master. It was strange for Anakin to see his Padawan quiet and timid, and much to his surprise, he found that he preferred her usual snippy attitude to this current one.

'And? What happened?' Anakin inquired.

'They said it was classified information, Master. I'm sorry, but only the Council are allowed to hear my recollection.'

Anakin's nostrils flared in frustration and Ahsoka looked down to avoid his intense glare. She sympathised for the wooden doors that fell victim to his flaring gaze, and she was sure that Master Kcaj, who was seated with his back to the doors, would feel the heat from inside the conference room. She shrunk to stand beside her Master against the hallway wall, and looked out to the city where the traffic hadn't stopped, and the sun still set like any other day.

Coruscant didn't stop because the Jedi Temple hanger had been bombed, but there had been a fear in its people at the threatening of their security. The Order were the first responders and the front-liners, and without them, the separatists could take over. If this bombing had separatist origin, the Jedi Order would have a big problem on their hands, and Coruscant could be under threat.

Anakin and Ahsoka stood in an uncomfortable silence. They both wished that Sol and Obi-wan were present, as they would lessen the anxiety they felt in the hall. No Jedi or clones wandered past, as everyone had been sent to their quarters from the explosion. It made the Master and Padawan wallow in their worries, and Anakin wanted nothing more than to hold Sol's hand and bury his nose in her light, floral scent.

'Kriff, how much longer are we going to-' Anakin was cut off by the opening of the double doors. He straightened his back and watched as the Jedi Council exited the conference room.

From her place against the wall, Ahsoka waited for each member to pass through the doors.  Each member held a less readable expression than the next, until Revan appeared with a drawn down face from his prominent frown. Ahsoka tried not to jump to attention and sufficed with a quick walk to join her Master in front of Revan.

'Well?' Anakin said when Master Windu was far enough away. Revan glanced at the Council who had made it down the hall, before looking to the two who waited anxiously for his word. Appearing to suppress his smile, Revan gave a light shrug in the presence of Anakin Skywalker. But to Ahsoka, the gesture was enough for her to want to grin.

'My recount didn't point to anything. I'm free to go,' Revan said, and Anakin huffed at the inconclusive nature of the questioning. While the Skywalker looked down the hall to where the Council disappeared, Revan snuck a wink to Ahsoka, telling her that he had found his and Sol's answer.
