After winding up two important meetings, he was sipping his black coffee in his cabin standing by the window that was closed. He could see the stunning view of the city which looked like it was made out of gold because of the lights that sparkled in dark.

Just then he remembered that he had to pick up Radhika. He had the address because her driver had informed him every minor detail. He walked out to the elevator. But it was under construction while the other elevator would have taken a lot of time to come up so he took the staircase. He ran down the stairs. By the time he reached the ground floor, his lungs burned with the loss of air and his heart hammered in his chest. He saw Jenny getting ready to leave. He casually walked to her and spoke,"Hey Jenny."

She stared at him with sheer disbelief. This was the first time he had talked to her other than work. She had a crush on him since her first day in office. He wouldn't be surprised if he knew because his charm never failed to make women go weak in their knees. She smiled nervously rather shyly, "Hello Sir."

"Jenny relax I am not going to eat you up. I wanted to know that did my dad give any specific instructions to the security team in the morning?! He asked beholding his intimidating stare on her.

She shook her head vigorously," No No Sir. He didn't. "

Arjun smirked,"Gotcha you!! Jenny people like you shouldn't try to lie especially in front of people like me. Now tell me the truth."

A electric current flowed down her spine. Fear coursed in her blood finding him looking at her as if he was going to eat her alive. She pleaded,"Sir please don't tell him that I breathed the word to you."

Arjun spoke in a assuring tone," Don't worry. My father won't know."

She confessed, "Sir has forbidden Aisha mam from entering any of the three buildings of Mehra Enterprises."

Arjun shook his head amusingly," The old man has lost it. He thinks he can keep me away from her with his old traditional methods."

He turned to leave just then she called out,"Sir wait Avantika mam called about half an hour back."

"I'll call her personally but if she calls you to know my whereabouts then tell her I am with my wife." Arjun stated as he pushed open the main door and rushed outside to the parking area.

He took the wheel and drove off.

Radhika walked out of the huge infrastructure of publishing house followed by Veer. He pulled out a chocolate from his pocket and gave her. Her joy knew no bounds and she started jumping like a kid. He knew her obsession for chocolates. She would gulp down at least five in half an hour.

But then she remembered Arjun's words that she'll become fat if she eats so many sweets at a time. She slipped the chocolate in her hand bag surprising Veer.

He pulled his brows together in confusion, "Hey why didn't you eat it?! Don't tell me you have fallen out of love with chocolates."

She shook her head,"No not in million years. It's just that I don't want to gain weight."

He pulled her cheeks and assured, "Radhika the word beautiful itself is not enough to describe how much beautiful you are.'' He completed his sentence in his mind,

Arjun pulled his car next to the building. He unlocked the door and stepped out. His eyes scanned the road to find Radhika and he found her leaning on the hood of a car and talking to a guy who had his back to Arjun.

His jaw clenched hard, muscles tensed and suppressed anger hiked up. He furiously paced towards them and covered his rage with a straight face,"Hey sorry I am late."

Radhika blinked in surprise seeing Arjun. She thought he wouldn't come. She couldn't understand why she was seeing a lot of him now when they had nothing to do with each other.

She still replied looking at him confusingly,"Oh no it's OK."

She turned to Veer and spoke,"Veer, this is Arjun." She gestured to Veer and introduced,"And Arjun this is my boss, Veer Malhotra."

Arjun forwarded his hand and grinned evil never taking his eyes off Veer. What irked him the most was the challenge in Veer's eyes. He wanted Radhika and that want was clearly evident in his eyes.

He stated in a hard tone,"I am the Husband."

Veer accepted his handshake and replied,"I am the best friend. "

Arjun squeezed his hand tighter than it was needed and smirked,"Suits you."

Arjun pulled Radhika to his side and spoke in a monotonous tone, "We are getting late. So I think we should leave now."

He dragged Radhika away who was finding it hard to catch up with his long fast strides.

When they got inside the car, Radhika spoke in a annoyed tone,"I just can't believe you talked to him like that."

Arjun buckled his seatbelt and turned to her,"Put your seatbelt on, Radhika. "
She crossed her arms to her chest and scowled," Why did you talk to him like that?! I didn't like it."

Arjuh snarled in controlled tone,"I didn't like him. You got your answer now put on your seatbelt.''

Radhika gaped at him, horrified," Arjun, I really don't know on what basis you judged him. but he is a nice guy and...."

Arjun cuts her off,"And he likes you or may be its more than that. "

Radhika looked at him with clear pure shock,"What!!! No he does not likes me. What makes you think so?!"

Arjun stated,"We are men and we can read each other well. He has feelings for you and I can bet on that."

Radhika scoffed,"You are impossible. I don't want to talk about this because its all rubbish and its only in your mind not in real."

Arjun spoke defiantly, "You'll believe me one day. Radhika, don't forget I have seen the world more than you can ever imagine."

Radhika spoke confidently, "I may not know the world like you but I know my friend."

Arjun spoke amusingly,"Radhika honey, you know nothing. But don't worry I'll take care of you."

Radhika quizzed,"Why?!"

Arjun stared deep into her eyes,"What why?!

She spoke in one breath,"Why you will take care of me?!"

Arjun answered,"I gave you the answer of this question in the morning itself still I'll repeat. Its only my right to take care of you."

A heart skipped a bear hearing his words. Her mouth opened wide in 'o' shape while her eyes broadened in shock. She felt undefined happiness hearing his words.

He chuckled, "Close your mouth before flies contaminate it.''

She pressed her lips together in hard line and peeped out of the window feeling irritating by his bossy, officious and conceited attitude.

He husked in a raspy tone, "Radhika tie your seat belt or do you want me to do it for you."

She stared at him with a horrifying expression and shook her head vigorously, "No No No I'll do it on my own."

He exclaimed, "Good!!"

She tried to tie it up but she couldn't fasten the buckle as it was beyond her reach. She was struggling to make the ends of the belt meet but one of them will always slip out of her grip.

He smiled a rare one and loomed on her making her lean against the window. Her heart was doing Summersaults in her chest. She feared he might hear the rapid beating of her heart. She shut her eyes tight and turned her face away.

He lips curved into a unintended smile seeing her nervousness and beads of sweat crowing on her forehead. He pulled the belt from behind her back without touching her and buckled it around her.

He pressed the ignition button and started the car. When the she heard the roaring sound of engine, she looked in his direction from the corner of her eyes. She heaved a sign of relief and mentally scolded herself for thinking all sort of nonsense.

After about fifteen minutes of complete silence, He asked,"Radhika, are you scared of me?!"

She said in a mocked tone," what are you?! Some evil witch who will turn me into a rabbit and lock me up in some cage that I should be scared of you."

He chuckled," Firstly I would have been a wicked wizard instead of some evil witch and secondly you are right I would have caged you for only me to see you but turning you into a lame, timid, mute creature like rabbit.'' He paused and grinned evil," I would never do that when I love your smart mouth very much.''

She stared at him with sheer disbelief."You love my mouth?!'' she asked innocently.''

He answered without tearing his gaze away from the packed up road," I am not used to people defying me. The only one who I can't boss around is dad which certainly I don't like but that won't last long.'' He completed his sentence in his mind," Because once he grows old enough to take backseat I'll make my own rules which everyone will have to follow even Abhimaan mehra.''

Radhika sensed the coldness in his tone when he talked about dad. It looked like something was holding him back from unleashing his wrath but one thing was sure He had surfaced all his anger and fury with calmness for a specific reason known only to him.

She cautiously asked," Will you answer if I ask you something personal?!"

He peered at her suspiciously," Depends on what you ask and how much little I would like to tell you about myself.''

She didn't like the way he put forth his thoughts in riddles. He had a certain, unique way of playing with a person's mind. He could drive anyone crazy to the extent that the person would lose his sleep and peace. She huffed and tried her best to keep a check on her temper.

  "I would like to know what is bugging your pretty head." He permitted.

She asked in a low tone,"you are so close to your mom but why are you so cold to your dad?!''

At the very mention of his dad, he stiffened. His long, rough fingers curled around the steering wheel in a rigid grip. His nostrils flared in seething rage as he curtly replied," Some questions are better left unanswered.''

Radhika spoke exasperatedly, "I know the way he has forbidden you from meeting Aisha, that might have created a rift between you both but he is your dad."

He barked in a earsplitting tone,"Shut the fuck up. You don't  know anything  about me so don't  make opinions about me. We have known each other just for two weeks and you are preaching me  on how to be a good son to my parents when you ran away from  your own wedding breaking your parent's  hearts. Stay out of my business and get this straight. I won't  remind again."

Her eyes welled up.  Hot pain filled tears peaked from the corner of her beautiful moist brown eyes. She wanted to  say something  but her voice seemed to  be lost in her throat.  She was scared and hurt. No one in her life of 22 years had ever raised their voice at her. She was too pretty to  hurt and no one could bring their heart to narrow their eyes at the innocent  soul.

He applied the brakes and turned to her. He cursed himself mentally for making her cry.  But he had to  admit that even with a tear stained face,  she looked bewitchingly beautiful. Her lips softer than the previous  moment tempting him to  bit and suck them till eternity. Her doe like baby brown eyes  lowered not willing to  meet his gaze. He wondered, how could she manage to  look attractive  every second of the day. He brushed aside all those impure thoughts and decided to  pacify her.

He lifted her chin up with his finger and husked, "Radhika, look at me."

She shook her head.

"Look at me."He softly said.

Her lips trembled and a lone tear trailed down her cheek to find its destination  on his finger.

"You shouldn't cry on small things. As far as I know you being a cry  baby is the last  thing you will wish to be.  Don't  cry for a man like me.  I am not worth it."He spoke in a sincere tone.

She lifted her eyelashes  and looked at him with her ethereal brown orbs,"What  do you mean by man like you?! You are good and I will say this innumerable times if you want."

He shook his head, " No Radhika. You say this because  you don't know me. Nobody  does not even my own family. You'll  hate me if I show you the real me But I don't  want you to  hate me so  you'll never know."

He wiped her tears and spoke,"Radhika don't try to get close to  me even if you want to prove yourself  a good friend. A man like me is not good for a innocent,  pure soul like you."

She stared deep into his eyes,"But I have seen the good in you. We all have good and bad side but that doesn't  make a person a sinner."

"I am."He spoke regretfully.

"Does Aisha know everything about you?!" She asked.

"No but somethings she knows." He answered.

"I don't know but still your name comes to my mind first when I think about the person I can trust without a shadow of doubt in my head." She whispered.

"Thank you for trusting me so much. But I have a question. You have known veer before me so why it's me who you the trust the most?!"He asked suspiciously.

"I just do. I can't  give you answer for this question."She replied.

He smiled and pats her cheek lovingly, "Such a innocent you are."
