"so, what do we do now?" i asked changkyun, with great distress in my voice. my thoughts have been occupied by joonwoo. from the beginning, i have always been worried about him.

on top of that, his parents abandoned him and announced him as deceased.

changkyun realized my expression and released a heavy sigh. "i don't know, ms. jiyeon. i just can't believe his parents would just leave him on the streets like that."

"should we... reach out to them? you and i both have copies of their whereabouts." i held up the folder. the smile on my face turned to melancholy and sadness. taking a deep breath, i wrapped my arms around changkyun. "and we can talk to them about joonwoo."

"we could... or we can just leave it. if they don't want him, we'll just take care of him together." he rests his chin on my head. "ms. jiyeon?"

"yes?"

"your hair smells like vanilla. is that the new popular scent these days?"

a slight smile came from my frown. he never fails to make me smile. "stop, you flirt. you're lucky you even get any of my hugs."

"i was gonna say that i like it."

"well, to respond to what you said about taking care of joonwoo, i'll do it. even though i said it before, i'm willing to do it now. joonwoo doesn't deserve to be hurt again, especially like that."
