Chapter 3 - Triplet's day

(Twister's spinning arrow that gives directions above)

"So what do you guys want to do?" Levi asks us as we plop on the brown sofas of our living room. Me and Luc in one and Levi sitting in front of us.

After Xander took off running behind River, they ended up wrestling in the living room and breaking grandma's vase... I think they actually did us a favor 'cause that was one ugly piece of ceramics. As punishment for both the prank and the 'unfortunate' incident, River will have to do everyone's laundry for a week. I am starting to feel sorry for him. Laundry duty in the Hart household is no joke. What would you expect when you live with a bunch of smelly boys?

Xander on the other hand got off lightly, only having to do the washing up for the rest of the week. I have my suspicions that Ezekiel wasn't very fond of that vase either and was glad that he finally had an excuse to get rid of it. Maybe he just kept it around as a sign of respect for our grandparents. Who knows?

We are now trying to decide what we are going to do on our triplet's day. Since it's raining outside we are staying home. There needn't be an argument about it either. Even though they were excited to spend the day out, they know I get antsy when it rains and, being the best brothers in the world, are willing to stay in as long as I am comfortable.

I guess somewhere inside, my brain connects rain and cloudy skies to the accident and therefore a potential repeat of what happened. I can't say I am surprised. All big storms were small once.

"What if each one of us chooses an activity and we do it together?" I suggested looking at them.

"Sounds good to me. I choose a movie marathon. We can do it last because it isn't a tiring activity and we will be exhausted by the end of the day" Luc suggests from beside me with a boyish grin. I swear this boy loves movies more than me.

He is one of those people whose bedroom walls have no free space due to film posters. He isn't picky either. He likes all genres as long as the movies are well-produced but his favorite is horror, just like the rest of our brothers. Me however...

"Yeah, I second that" my other brother agrees.

"I don't mind watching a movie but please don't choose horror..." I plead in a small voice with puppy dog eyes twinkling up at him.

"Worry not my lady, I shall protect you!" He says dramatically while getting up off the sofa and doing a deep bow.

I giggle at his playfulness and turn to look to Levi who is watching the scene unfold with amused eyes. I ask him what activity he had in mind and his response had me doing a happy dance in my mind.

"If you guys are good with it I would like to play Monopoly" he said, looking at us evilly. Monopoly is easily my second favorite game of all time, following Twister closely behind. Nothing can beat its awesomeness.

There is just something so refreshing about seeing all my brothers getting along while playing this game... who am I kidding I just like to have a good laugh by seeing their giant limbs tangled with each other and the uncomfortable positions they are in, while I sit on the couch with a smug look on my face and spin the arrow to give them directions.

"Yes! We haven't played that in ages! Are you ready for me to beat your asses?" I ask smirking at them.

"You wish" Levi scoffed.

"I don't wish, I know. Or have forgotten the last time we played?" I asked with a raised eyebrow, remembering the funny memory of his furious and sulking face.

"Oh yeah, I remember! You were so mad that Luna won that you flipped the board. I have never seen a sore loser as bad as you and we live with a lot of competitive people. Even Xander takes it better than you and that's saying something, I mean-" Luc rambled with a smirk of his own, happily riling up our brother.

"Yeah, yeah we know..." Levi grumbled under his breath with a scowl still on his face. "By the way, what activity were you thinking about Lu?" he asks, successfully changing the subject.

"I thought we could bake a chocolate cake for Evan and Ezekiel! They have been working extra hard lately and barely have any time for themselves" I suggest eagerly, proud of my idea.

"I agree. It would be a nice surprise for them" Luca pipes in nodding his head, while Levi looks at us as if we had gone nuts.

"You guys are just forgetting something... none of us know how to cook..." he explains, saying each word slowly as if he were talking to children.

I shoot him a look and narrow my eyes before answering "It can't be that hard. We just have to follow a recipe" I deadpan. He quickly raises his hands in surrender

"Ok then. So first we play monopoly, then bake the cake, and lastly the movie marathon" Luc sums up, counting off his fingers.

We all nod, knowing that this was the plan for the day. The momentary silence between us is soon disrupted by a loud growl coming from my stomach. I look down embarrassed, hiding my face from view with my hair.

From the corner of my eye, I see Levi smirking "I think the Baby is hungry".

"I am not a baby! I am literally the same age as you two! And in my defense, I haven't eaten anything today yet" I quickly say, a slight blush forming on my cheeks.

"Whatever you say, baby... " Levi teases barely holding back a smile.

"Lev..." I warn him with a scowl.

"Your scowl is the cutest thing!" Luca gushes while pinching my cheeks, a beaming smile on his face.

"Seriously Luc? You are supposed to be on my side! I'm the minority here! " I say in disbelief. He just chuckles at me while Levi gets up from the couch.

"Ok, I'll get us all some cereal for breakfast while you guys get the game and set it up. And don't even think about sneaking in money again Luna..." Levi says with a knowing look. I smile sheepishly at him, knowing that I had been caught.

Luc gets up to retrieve the game and I clear the small coffee table by the sofas. When he comes back, he makes sure our triplet is out of earshot before looking at me with a mischievous smile " I won't tell if you won't..." he winks at me and I giggle slightly, giving us more money to make sure we have a slight advantage, but not too much so it isn't noticeable.

As we have just finished setting everything up, Lev rounds the corner with cereal bowls for all of us on a wooden tray.

"Is everything ready?" he asks, to which Luc and I simultaneously nod.

Let the games begin...

Author note:

Hi everyone! How are you liking the book so far? This is a slightly smaller chapter and I know it is a bit boring but I promise the story will get better. Right now I am just trying to build up our characters' personalities so that later on we can see how much they have developed and grown throughout our story.

I will post another chapter either today or tomorrow to compensate for this smaller one. With this said, thank you so much for giving this book a chance, and it would make my day if you could vote and/or comment.

Until next time!
