AU Report

¤Dr. Roberts¤

"They are getting more unpredictable, Phil," Joseph says from the head of the table. "What is your sector going to do about it? We allowed you to go on your little expedition so that we could have a fighting chance against those creatures."

"And we will, Sir," I respond. "I'm in the process of putting together a new team, much larger than usual, and with a variety of powers."

After the Chimera attack last night in North Charleston, the Academy council is more determined than ever to either have the members of the underworld join our cause or have us eradicate them all. Now, I understood the need for secrecy and discretion better than anyone else in this office, but genocide was not the answer. Just look at what happened to the fae. Of course you can never really expect a human to understand that the members of the underworld are people too. To those who know of us we're treated as second class citizens, which is only slightly better than being considered the enemy.

The Council called me into this meeting to discuss what my sector of the Academy, Academy Underground, would be doing about the more recent and violent attacks from the supernatural world. Humans were not equipped to battle the members of the underworld, so what did they do? They allowed me to form my own specialized sector that would give the monsters a run for their money. Only they didn't know that unit would be filled with these so called monsters. Misunderstood supernaturals who went against the grain and didn't use their powers for evil and destruction, only self preservation.

Over the last few years, I've travelled the world. My "little expedition" as Joseph had just called it. I used my connections, skills, and expertise to find the best of the best of the most dominant supernatural species. Now all I need to do is get them to work together.

"Well when are we going to see this 'special team' Phil!?" Joseph asks. "The monsters are getting more powerful and more bold by the day. When am I going to see results!?"

Joseph Buble is the current head of the Academy Council, and a bigger pain in my ass than the last one. If I weren't working so hard on bringing peace between the humans and the supernaturals, I would've ripped a hole in his chest a long time ago.

"If you'd kindly turn around, you should see a nice result in three, two, one."

And right on time, my star pupil walks through the door, a lizard tail thrown over her shoulder and a bright gleam in her green eyes. A young man strolls in behind her, his brown eyes twinkling with mischief as a smirk plays on his lips.

"Wha- what is the meaning of this!?" Joseph spurts.

"This," the girl replies, throwing the tail down on the table in front of Joseph. "Solves your Chimera problem. You're welcome." She gives them a mock bow before straightening and taking a few steps back.

Once she's back near the male, she straightens out her black tank top before crossing her arms and giving the members of the council a bored look.

"Ladies and gentlemen of the council, I'd like to introduce to you the new lead of my 'specialized team'," I start. "This is Sang Sorenson and her friend James."

"She's your go to monster hunter?" Joseph mocks. "She's just a little girl! What could she possibly hunt?"

"You if you keep talking," James responds with a smile.

"Thi- this is outrageous! Is she even like them!?"

"She's better," I tell him with a small smile. "Sang, sweetheart. Would you mind showing Joseph and his friends just how special you are?"

"Like they deserve it," James chuckles, causing Sang to give him a side eye.

She smirks before giving me a slight nod and closing her eyes, taking deep breaths. It's all for show. Sang's skill level and focus is much higher now than it was decades ago when I first found her. She doesn't even need to concentrate to change her appearance anymore, she just wills it. But the council doesn't need to know that, and with each breath Sang takes, her skin begins to glow. Lightly at first, before brightening and turning into the beautiful turqoise she was when I first saw her.

Once the transformation is complete, she opens her eyes, astounding the council members more. Her once grass green eyes, and now a bright emerald that sparkles, round and glassy like marbles. Her ears have lengthened slightly and now have a pointed tip, and if she were to smile, you'd see that her canines have elongated into a deadly point. This is the face of a true fae. The last fae. My special little girl. Her and the team I've put together are the best this organization has to offer. And if those boys can learn to work together despite their differences, they'll be unstoppable.
