Chapter 13: Tormented Souls
He turned his body feeling a sore pain. His body ached as he got up and opened his eyes. It took a few seconds for his vision to clear. He rubbed his eyes to see better as he saw someone standing in front of him, facing their back at him, mumbling something. He slowly gathered up the strength to get up. There were tiny leaves and dirt over him, that he dusted off as he got up to fetch his curiosity. The figure stopped mumbling and turned towards him feeling the movement of his presence. He freaked out looking at the figure standing in front of him.
"No- NO! You died??? What?? How? You killed yourself didn't you???" he unbelievably looked into the eyes of the angelic figure in front of him. His face contracted in disbelief and his eyes blinked faster in confusion as he gasped for air even though he physically couldn't breathe anymore.
"Why! Why would you do that? This is not what I wanted! No! No! This is bad! No! This is terrible! I didn't want you to die! I told you- you, you shouldn't be guilty! I don't hate you. I didn't want any proof, especially not to prove me like this!" he extended his arm as they made their way back to his throbbing head. He couldn't believe the only wish he had asked for, his brother's happiness, had not been fulfilled either. This shattered him.
He felt a hand touch his shoulder. "Look around you and tell me, what do you see?" the figure in front of him said. His head shot up as he took a look around him. He looked around himself and saw he was in the middle of a breathtaking forest. There was a natural fountain of spring water. The stream of water hit the stones and pebbles, making a melodious burble, as it made its way into a channel of water flowing away from the spring, the running water sketched a beautiful picture of the night sky, a beautiful bright moon, and twinkling stars in it. As his sight turned in the other direction he saw captivating tiny lights in the forest, a sight he had never seen when he was alive, his eyes softened. His blink interrupted the enchanted scene, he was lost looking at. He looked up and saw the moon, magnificent as he ever remembered it to be, its silver outline seemed to be carved too perfectly for human vision, and the stars sparkled and twinkled above him, as he saw a shooting star speeding across the mix of a dark-spectrum sky, for the first time ever. His innocent face couldn't hide the amazement and confusion all at once.
"What is this place? Afterlife? Spiritual Realm?" he asked unable to take his eyes off the alluring sight in front of him.
"Well, I promised you all the love I could ever give you, and I realized it is not in the afterlife!" Jungkook whispered with a smile.
"Then? What is this place? Where are we hyung?" Jeongukk looked around confused.
"We are in the Realm of Reflexio." Jungkook answered.
"How? I am sure I died! This is impossible." Jeongukk said now looking into Jungkook's dark orbs, facing him.
"Before the grim reapers could guide your soul out of our realm, and enter you to the afterlife, I killed myself to hide us both in the realm of reflections, I knew you didn't have time, so I had to be quick. Since we are dead in our realm we don't have another set of our reflections in this realm so we are safe for now. I know this is against the laws of nature. I am sorry, I want to make things right and I will start from here. I was terrible to you, I know I don't deserve to be forgiven and you don't have to but from now on, I will always be the older brother you deserved, and I know it is overwhelming..." Before Jungkook could complete his accelerated explanation, that he was practicing since Jeongukk was as dazed, Jeongukk hugged him tight. Jungkook who was just blabbering everything, trying hard to make sure Jeongukk at the least wouldn't hate him for all that he did to him, froze.
"You killed yourself to save me?" Jeongukk questioned sobbing in his arms. He buried his head in Jungkook's chest as he always craved his older brother's hug, he always craved a family, he craved happiness. His wishes were tiny, not the jewels, not the power, not the world's treasures, it was a simple act of true love which would fill his empty heart.
(Jungkook: AUTHOR DID YOU STEAL THAT? WHAT DO YOU THINK I AM ELSA, WHAT DO YOU THINK THIS IS FROZEN?
Author: Bro this is literally a fantasy book, everything that happens here is of, for, and by love; typical, what can I do?
Jungkook: Ble Ble Ble-
Author: You were better off with no screen time.
Jungkook: STFU Author and guess what B*****S, JEON IS BACK
Jin: CUSS ONE MORE TIME AND YOU WILL REGRET COMING TO ARMY WHERE I CAN SMACK YOU
Jungkook: 😳🤐🤐)
"I would tear the world apart for my baby brother." Jungkook said and tightened his hug around him, bursting out in tears. "I am so sorry" Jungkook cried hysterically. "I wouldn't lose you for anything." his tears flowed as he sought solace on Jeongukk's shoulder. Jungkook finally felt at home, a place he hadn't experienced for the last 16 years of his life. His home was Jeongukk; his brother wasn't just his twin, but a part of him.
"And I promise we will safely get out of here, together." Jungkook broke the hug and cupped Jeongukk's cheeks. Jeongukk's eyes glistened with tears, and his wet cheeks were shining under the moonlight; he sniffed his red nose before flashing his signature bunny smile, looking like the cutest creature alive. Jungkook mirrored his adorable bunny smile, and the twins exchanged looks of happiness, feeling more content than they had in a long while.
"But you are so cool. I don't even know how you got us both into the Realm of Reflexio" Jeongukk said, tiny hopping in excitement as he walked away.
Jungkook laughed and asked, "Where are we going?", following Jeongukk who was leading him.
"This looks like the human world so the plan now is... we gotta first look for things to survive... We need some form of glucose." he said.
"Ahh, someone wants to go to a store to get some banana milk" Jungkook asked containing his laughter as Jeongukk turned to him with a shook face.
"Maybe?" he flashed his signature bunny smile.

"Who are you?" she asked the young guard.
"A guard in this palace" he responded softly, his eyes locked to the ground.
"You are much more than that, and we both know it. What's your name?" she asked growing impatient by the minute.
"I have no name here." The young guard kept looking down.
"Lock him up but, not with the rest of the prisoners; I don't want him speaking to anyone else but me." she commanded.
Two of her guards grabbed him and took him away to the dungeon, locking him away. The young guard didn't expect this but he wasn't too worried about being imprisoned.
Hours passed as he sat in silence facing away from the bars, unsure what awaited him, he played with two large gold coins in his hands. The sound of the metallic coins crashing against each other stopped as the young guard diverted his attention to the inaudible whispers. He quietly moved closer to the bars to understand the situation better. When his eyes suddenly met Jhope's.
There was a sense of confusion as the escaping group Infront of him paused for a moment looking at him in the opposite side of the cell, figuring their way out.
"Why are you imprisoned here?" Jino asked the young guard. He shrugged indicating he wasn't sure himself.
"How do I set you free?" Jhope asked coming closer to the bars when the guard furiously shaking his head and moving his hands indicating, to not come any closer. Jino grabbed Jhope's arm to stop his action.
"This is the highest secured prison, coming even little closer to it will alarm the queen directly of a foreign presence" he informed.
"Alright, but how do I get you out?" Jhope asked again.
"No, don't. I'll be fine. You all get out of here safely and directly go to the dark kingdom. That's the safest place to be at right now." the guard whispered.
"Where is Lily?" Jino asked him.
"She's with the queen. Don't try to save her, she'll be fine. Please listen to my instructions clearly. Go to the Dark Castle and unite everyone. Trade both the princes bodies from the Queen." before Jhope could ask him the question he wanted to, the young guard interrupted his own sentence and said,"she will. She will trade them. Trust me. Give her whatever she asks for in return. Carefully freeze them through cryonics. You will have to revive the princes." Taehyun looked at him with hope. "Miracles are possible" the guard said and gave him a faint assuring smile; continuing to whisper, "The queen will be killing recent born infants, so keep your guards everywhere and please protect them; I have managed to misguide her to make sure she trades the bodies. The dark green key is the way to open the hidden door through which Robert and Jisoo escaped." he said pointing at Jhope's hand that had the tiny pouch he had found in the rice.
"Careful who you trust. One last thing", he cautiously rolled the coin out of his cell. "Take that along please." Jino leaned to get the coin to stop rolling in his direction, still maintaining his eye contact with the prisoned guard. "That includes you?" he questioned, putting the coin in his pocket. They heard some guards coming this way so the young guard actioned them to leave. Jhope swiftly dragged everyone away from there leaving no time for Jino to clear his suspicions.

"Shh. This is the book that we are looking for" Namjoon whispered as he pulled out a book in the restricted room of the library.
