The Festival

Today was the Leaf Village Festival. I didn't know what I was gonna wear. I guess I could wear a plain kimono dress. Well, first I had a lot to do. I was behind on my training, so I asked Sasuke to be my training partner.

"Ready?" Sasuke asked. "Ready." I confirmed. Sasuke came at me with taijutsu. I was able to keep up with him. I didn't read his mind to anticipate his movements because I didn't think that was fair.

Next, we moved onto ninjutsu. Sasuke used his Chidori and ran at me. I didn't know how I was going to dodge this. Instead, I paused time and went behind him. When I was behind him, I unfroze time.

"You cheater. You froze time, didn't you?" Sasuke said, smirking. "Yeah, I did." I confessed. No point in lying to him.

After our training session, we went back inside and took a shower. No, we didn't take it together. We took our showers separately. Sasuke let me go first. I washed my hair and body as I thought about tonight.

Will it be okay for me? Will tonight be great or a total disaster? I was so nervous, I just knew something bad was going to happen. I sighed and stopped the water before getting out of the shower with a towel wrapped around my me.

Once I dried myself off, I got dressed and exited the bathroom. "Your turn." I said to Sasuke. He walked past me and went into the bathroom. I sighed again and used the towel I had to dry my hair. "I sense a bit of fear in you, Princess." Isuke said.

"Am I that obvious?" I asked in an emotionless tone. "Kind of. Princess, what's bothering you?" He asked. "Nothing. It's just that I don't think I should go to the festival tonight." I said to him.

"Why not?"

"Because I'm scared I might get teased, beaten, or-"

"Killed?"

"Dying would be better."

"Don't say that, Princess! Tonight, you're going to have the best time of your life!"

I looked at Isuke and petted his head. "Thanks, Isuke." I said, smiling. I looked towards the bathroom when Sasuke stepped out with a towel around his waist. Another towel was draped over his head as he was drying his hair.

"You like what you see?" Sasuke asked with a smirk. I blushed when I realized I was staring at his chest and turned my head so I was looking out the window. "No need to be shy, Miu." Sasuke said as he took my chin and made me look at him.

"Shyness has always been my personality." I stated, my face still red. "You know what tonight is, don't you?" Sasuke asked as he walked over to me. "It's the Leaf Village Festival." I answered. "Princess is having doubts about going to the festival tonight." Isuke informed.

"How come?" Sasuke asked. "Because I'm scared." I confessed. "You have nothing to be scared of, Miu. As long as you have me, you're safe." Sasuke said, hugging me. I hugged him back, closing my eyes. I hope what he's saying is true.

(Time skip)

I was over at Hinata's house, getting ready for the festival. Hinata wanted me to come over so she could do something with my hair. I found Hinata to be one of my closest, female friends since she doesn't bully me.

"I'm really happy for you, Miu." Hinata said as she straightened my hair. I didn't say anything as I looked down at my lap. "Miu?" Hinata asked. "Huh? Yes?" I answered. "You look upset. Aren't you happy about going to the festival?" She asked.

"I'm supposed to be happy, but I'm not." I said. "Why not? Is it Sakura you're worried about?" She asked.

"Yes, and just about everyone who likes to bully me."

"I'm sure you'll be fine."

Hinata put the finishing touches on my hair and placed ribbons in them. I stood in front of a mirror as I looked at myself. "Thank you, Hinata." I thanked. Neji came in and I noticed he was dressed for the festival, too.

"I should be heading back to Sasuke's house. Thank you for all you've done for me, Hinata." I said, bowing my head. I left their house and walked to Sasuke's house. "You look beautiful, Princess." Isuke said, hopping onto my shoulder.

"Thanks, Isuke." I said, smiling. "Are you excited?" He asked. "More nervous than excited." I admitted. "Don't worry, Princess. You have nothing to worry about. Tonight will be the best time of your life." Isuke assured me.

I smiled again and petted his head. "Thanks, Isuke." I said. "Sasuke?" I asked, once I was at his house. I went to knock on his door, but the door opened before I had a chance. Standing on the other side, was none other than Sasuke himself.

He was dressed in a traditional male kimono.

"You look nice." I commented. "Same to you." Sasuke said, smiling. "I've seen better." Isuke teased.

"Isuke." I frowned.

"I was only kidding."

I sighed and noticed Sasuke was holding out his hand. "Shall we get going?" He asked, still smiling. "Yes." I smiled softly as I gently took his hand. We walked to the festival and there was a lot of people there.

"I'm surprised there's a lot of people here." I said. "Were you expecting a smaller crowd?" Sasuke asked. "Kind of." I admitted. He chuckled. "When it comes to a festival, nobody would miss it for the world." He said.

Sasuke and I walked over a bridge, then looked towards the sky when we saw fireworks. It's so pretty. "Well, well. Look who decided to show up." My eyes widened, recognizing the voice. "Oh no." I whispered.

Sasuke and I looked to our left, spotting one of the classmates who beat me up. His name is Douji. Douji was like a gang leader. He thinks he's all high and mighty because he always used to flatter the girls.

I hated him in the academy. He always found a reason to pick on me. What I hated the most about him was that he never stopped bullied me. Everyday, I would make an excuse why I didn't come to school.

I'd tell the Hokage that I was sick. I'd sit in my room, waiting for the school day to end. I didn't go to school for a whole two months because of him.

I was so worried and convinced that Douji and his friends were gonna beat me, I isolated myself in my house, never stepping outside until I was sure they got bored and decided to not hurt me anymore. Well, that plan backfired.

"Hey, there, Miu. Long time, no see." He said, smirking as he made his way over to us. Sasuke pulled me behind him as he frowned at Douji. "What do you want, Douji?" Sasuke demanded. "Come on, it's a festival. Anyone's allowed to be here." He stated.

"So, Miu. I'm surprised to see you here. What finally made you come out of that house of yours? Oh, wait. That's right. You don't have a house anymore, considering how it burned to the ground." Douji teased.

"Leave her alone. She's done nothing to you, Douji." Sasuke said, frowning. "Stay out of this, Uchiha. This is between me and her." Douji said, taking a few steps forward. He went to grab me until Sasuke grabbed his wrist.

"I think you should leave before I kick your ass in front of these people around us." Sasuke warned, squeezing Douji's wrist tighter. Douji yelped and yanked his hand out of Sasuke's grasp. He frowned at him, then at me.

"This isn't over, Shimizu." Douji said before stomping away. "You okay, Miu?" Sasuke asked. I nodded my head. Now, I'm worried Douji will beat me tomorrow. "Hey, you have nothing to worry about. As long as I'm here, I won't let anything happen to you. Sasuke said, as if reading my mind.

"Are you reading my mind?" I asked him. He chuckled. "No, but I had a feeling you were thinking that." Sasuke said, making both of us laugh.

Later that night, Sasuke and I continued to walk around, enjoying the scenery. We played games that were held, and ate festival food. What surprised me was that they had a lot of sweets.

The fireworks went off for a little while longer and Sasuke and I were just walking around.

"Sasuke,"

"Yeah?"

"Thank you for this. Thank you for giving me a good time tonight. This is the best time I've ever had."

Sasuke smiled. "You're welcome, Miu."

He wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed me. I kissed back while placing my hands on his chest. This really is the best night ever.
