ZIGGY AND NICK CONTINUE TO ask each other about the blood coating their clothes as the couple try to get their breathing back to normal. The tension was incredibly high and they could all hear the blood rushing through them and their heartbeats sounded louder than anything else in the room.
Kim looks down at her clothes, examining every spot of blood on her body but let out a rather loud gasp as she moved her hip to get comfortable.
"What's wrong?" Mike asked her, concern spiking as he watched her face contort.
"I don't know." She winced slightly when he accidentally knocked his leg into her side.
Kimberly slowly took her hands to the waistband of her shorts and pulled it down slightly to reveal a large gash in her waist. "Oh shit."
"How the hell have you gotten that?!" Ziggy whisper-yelled, looking at her injury with wide eyes.
The blonde thought over every possible action that had happened within the last hour, trying to find reason for her injury and then realised, "The nails. In the outhouse. There were rusty nails in the wall."
All three of them watched her side bleed until Nick decided to take action, getting up, looking around the room for any sort of first aid. "Come on, there has to be something. It's a fucking nature centre."
"Why are you stressing so much, Nick" The injured girl questioned. "You don't even know me."
"Because, I promised Kurt I'd keep you safe, even if it's the last thing I do." Nick answered, not even looking at the girl he was speeding to, too focused on looking for bandages.
"Why in God's name would you do that?" Kim scoffed, wincing when she did as her side moved.
"Because he loves you, Kim. Like, a lot." Nick rolled his eyes at the girls obliviousness.
She sat there in silence and thought over what Nick just said as he came back to her with bandages.
Kurt loves Kimberly.
"They only have bandages so that'll have to do but you'll definitely need stitches after." The Goode boy informed, dropping to his knees before her.
"Yeah, sure, whatever." She nodded, not really listening to his advice.
Ziggy made her way over to them and held Kim's shirt up while her friend pulled her shorts down just far enough for the wound to be seen. She winced as the cloth tightened around her skin. It was then that Kim realised Mike hadn't spoken for a while, "Mike, you okay?"
He let out a 'mhm' and Kim tilted her head upwards to find him glaring into Nick's skull.
"Jesus Christ are you jealous because Nick is helping me?" She exclaimed, astonished at his emotions in times like these.
"What?! W— What n— No! It's just— It doesn't matter." He stuttered out, flushing red as Nick raised his eyebrows at his friend.
"Michael, why would I go for Kim when I have Ziggy right here?" Nick pulled the bandage hard on her skin so it was tight enough for it to not fall off. The blonde girl let out a cry of pain when he did that and he muttered out a small sorry.
The couple returned to their side of the room and Ziggy sends Kimberly a quick nod and smile telling her it's alright.
"All those kids you named..." All attention goes towards Kim again as she speaks. "Sean, Jesse, Rod, Stacey and not to mention Jess and Jeremy. They're all Shadysiders. It's the curse."
"No, it's, uh, it's just some psycho." Nick shook his head in denial.
"No, no, it's not some psycho. It's Tommy." Ziggy sides with her best friend. "My sisters perfect, virgin, boring boyfriend Tommy."
"She did this." The blonde said, realisation dawning upon her face.
"Cindy?" Mike asked, furrowing his brows at her vagueness.
"The witch!" The duo spoke in sync, sending each other a confident look as they both knew and thought she same thing.
"That's not real, Kim." Michael added, rolling his eyes at her immature answer.
"That's exactly what a Sunnyvaler would say. I thought you were different." Kim spat out, moving away from the boy. Although he shot a sorrowful look at his friend, Nick couldn't help but hear the bell ringing.
"They're getting on the bus. We have to go!"
"I cant! My sister is still out there!" Ziggy reminded the boys, looking at them as if she had just said the most obvious thing.
"Please, Ziggy! I've let a lot of people die—"
"—Nick this isn't your fault—"
"—Not you! I'm not letting you die. Because... uh— Yeah! I do like the weirdo from Shadyside and Mike loves the bitch from Shadyside too." Kim rolls her eyes but reaches her hand over to Mike's and holds it.
"You see, we were both thinking, maybe once we get out of this, we could, uh... we could start a book club or something." The darker haired boy said.
"Maybe... I dunno, Stephen King's new one is supposed to be good, I hear." Michael shrugged, not entirely interested in the sound of the novel-writers new piece, but willing to read it for the blonde.
"They always are." Kimberly informed her lover.
"I'm done with King. Judy Blume for me from now on, but K probably wants to stick with him."
"Yeah, Judy Blume sounds, uh... sounds perfect and Mike and Kim can continue with their Stephen obsession." Nick agrees, looking at the couple on the other side of the room, them sharing a simple smile.
"You believe us right? About the curse?" The archer asked, looking from Mike to Nick.
Mike nodded fast "Yeah, of course." While Nick nodded along.
"Now come on, we gotta get out of here." Nick grabbed Ziggy's hand whilst Mike copied the action with Kim. "As soon as we do, we'll call the cops. You're sisters going to be alright."
"Yeah, but first we gotta get on that bus." The Tepper boy said.
Then a frantic knocking came from the outside, all four of them peered over the top of the counters as a hand smashed through the glass. Kim was about to let out a scream but Michael's hand was quick to react, placing it over her mouth as it came out in a muffle. They watched as he rattled the door handle and opened it, all dropping back to the floor, scrambling to get as pressed up to the counter as possible.
There, Tommy stood, drenched from head to toe in blood, his eyes frantically looking over the nature room. His breathing was heavy and it scared the shit out of all four of them. His feet stomped on the floor aggressively as he wandered around the room, looking for his next victim to violently murder.
Tepper and Wallis held onto each other, tighter than ever before as they heard the stomping get closer and closer, eventually too close for their liking. The four looked at each other, all thinking the same thing and they used the sides to get further and further to the back of the room, being as quiet as possible.
The snakes started hissing defensively at the murderer and the spiders scuttled around their cage fearfully. The spiders rustling must've distracted and annoyed Tommy as he slashed the glass which allowed the spiders to crawl away. The revolting insects decided that the best place to seek shelter was behind the girl with a phobia of them. She whimpered slightly in fear as they crawled in her leg and up her left short leg. The boy next to her sensed the fear and lifted the edge of it, placing his hand on her thigh, palm upwards, allowing the creature to crawl onto his hand and be directed elsewhere. She sent him a grateful look and he returned it by squeezing her hand. They heard the axe murderers footsteps still get closer and closer until all was silent.
Unfortunately for them, Tommy saw the top of Kimberly's blonde head and grabbed it pulling her over the counter and towards him. She let out a blood curdling scream and smacked his hands trying to pry them away from her skull.
"Kimberly!"
"K!"
They ran towards the commotion and saw the poor girl being thrown and dragged around, taking cages and leaflets with her. Broken glass scraped along her back, cutting it open as she screamed.
Tommy made the mistake of letting go of her hair for a quick second, allowing her to crawl away but he raised his axe too fast and caught her leg. She let out another deadly screech as Tommy dragged her back.
Ziggy! Help!" She screamed, her fingers dragging along the floor in a desperate attempt to escape.
The ginger looked around for anything that could be used and noticed a wooden chair. Thinking fast, she picked it up and smashed it against his back. "Go to hell you piece of shit!"
Tommy fell to his knees and Mike picked up a broken piece of chair leg that had spiked at the end and stabbed it through his back, impaling his stomach. "That's my girlfriend, motherfucker!"
All four of them watched as Tommy's breathing grew heavier, Kim thought it would be safe to move so she tried crawling towards Michael but yelled out as her leg ached like hell. She looked back to see the murder axe stuck in her calf, blood spewing out of it. Her pain must've awakened the slater boy again as his head lifted up rapidly and stared at the blonde girl.
"Oh shit, no— Not again." Kim stuttered, waching briefly over her shoulder before returning to her evasive plan.
She tried standing up and grabbing onto Mike as he pulled her up frantically but Tommy was faster as he grabbed the axe handle and used it to drag her down to the floor. Mike hadn't let go of the girls hand, desperately trying to pull her back. The Shadyside killer yanked the axe from Kim's leg, allowing Mike to pull her up properly, it was only then that they realised, they were backed into the wall.
"Hey guys! Get out of here! We've got it, okay!" Mike yelled out to them, dangerously trying to get them away from the murderer.
"No way! Kim's my sister! I'm not leaving her! And Nick promised Kurt he'd keep her safe!" Ziggy yelled back.
Tommy was getting sick of their useless teenage bickering and struck right where Kim's head was but she ducked just in time.
"I can keep myself safe zig! and please, get Cindy, Alice, Kurt and yourself out of here please! I promise I'll meet you at your house tomorrow morning! I swear on my goddamn life, Z!"
Tears were forming in the two's eyes as Nick pulled Ziggy out of the room, sending the girl an uncertain nod, to which she responded with a confident nod, and with that, they left, leaving Mike and Kim to fight the murderer themselves.
THE CAMP BUS WAS ON it's departure away from the murder scene, Will Goode was driving while Kurt paced the isle, running a headcount. The children were panicked and fear-stricken, some of them decorated with tears and muddy, static hair.
Kurt mumbled to himself as he walked back towards the front of the bus, "Hold on! Stop the bus!" He suddenly shouted, making Will slam on the breaks.
Everyone jolted forwards and some let out yells of shock.
"Where's Kimberly?" Kurt asked, looking around at the campers as they all glanced at each other with confused looks, "Has anyone seen Kimberly?"
"Dude, she ran out of the Mess Hall ages ago. She left with Ziggy to find Sheila." One of the boys spoke up, alerting her absence.
"Okay, turn this shit around." Kurt ordered to Will, who gave him a stupendous look.
"No! No way am I turning the bus around for your bitchy, Shadysider girlfriend!" Will shouted back, stepping on the gas pedal, accelerating the bus.
"William Goode, turn this bus around right fucking now!" Kurt raised his voice louder, making all of the campers behind them silence their conversations.
"No." Will was still hell bent on keeping the bus moving away from camp, ignoring orders from the counsellor.
"Then let me off." Kurt shrugged, reaching forwards and pressing a button on the dashboard and the doors collapsed inwards, letting a cold breeze drift through the vehicle.
Will gave the boy a shocked look as he watched him climb down the stairs and exit the bus, leaving no one in control and the children whispered to each other, baffled on what had just happened.
