twenty six - part two

HICCUP KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH ALORA. Her shoulders were slumped and she had her arms crossed.

"Aly? What's wrong?"

Silence.

"Aly, please say something."

"Oh, now you want to talk?!"

"Oh boy," Fishlegs whispered.

"I don't get it," the poor Berkian said.

Alora held out the bracelet and put hers against it.

"They're matching bracelets Hiccup. Couples bracelets."

"O-Oh, well it looks nice."

She scoffed and tossed it to him.

"I get it. I'm the strong Kryptonian girl who calls everyone by nicknames and has this temperament issue and can't find her way home. But I'm also a lady Hiccup. Your girlfriend."

Hiccup saw that the bracelet had her family symbol on it.

"But I understand! We've only been dating for four months, but every once in a while I want to be lovey-dovey and call each other loving nicknames. I want to cuddle and yeah, it'd be nice to be peppered with kisses in the morning or even a simple gesture to show some sort of affection! Because sometimes I feel like I'm the only one trying in this relationship!"

"A-Aly, I'm sorry I had no idea you felt that way. And I guess, I'm not really someone who notices accessories."

"Oh really? Well you had no problem noticing the lens on the Armorwing. Oh right, wait a minute, because it's a dragon!" she sarcastically laughed. "And since I'm not a dragon, you won't notice."

"Aly—"

"Dagur and Mala have known each other for a few days and they can't stand to be apart. And for me, it hurts when you're out and about on missions. Because I don't know whether. . ."

She paused and tossed her bracelet at him. Then, she heard the Armorwing land beside them. So she went after it, wanting for this whole thing to end.

It would be an understatement to say that Hiccup was feeling guilty after the talk he just had with Alora. But he knew that if Viggo, Johann, or Krogan got a hold of the Dragon Eye lens, they would be screwed. They tried cornering the dragon and Hiccup followed it upwards. But that was his mistake. Above he saw Krogan eyeing the lens on the Armorwing.

Alora hovered beside Hiccup and glared at Krogan. In the middle of it all was the Armorwing.

"Oh!" Dagur said, excitedly, "Who doesn't love a good face-off?!"

"Protect the Armorwing!"

Alora pushed all feelings aside and didn't falter as she protected the dragon. Fire was being shot everywhere all at once, but she continued her duty. Then, she stood face to face with Krogan.

His dragon shot at the Armorwing, but Alora flew towards it and used her freezebreath to stop it. Then, he shot at her, but she stood still and let it explode on her. Of course, her clothing had caught fire but she just patted it until it went out.

Then, she guided the Armorwing towards a cave and held it down until her teammates caught up with her.

Uh, I'd just like to pause really quickly and say, Alora, I love you.

It happened so many years ago, yet I'm feeling really guilty right now.

You just said it Love, 'many years ago'. I literally do not care about it now. You're not the same person anymore. You're great the way you are now.

*sighs* Thank you.

Now can I finish my story?

Yes.

"We're sitting ducks right now!" Snotlout yelled.

What was once daylight had changed to nighttime. Alora saw that the two males were wondering what Hiccup was going to do next. But the poor boy looked confused and hopeless. That was when Alora went up towards him and placed his hand in hers.

"I have your back." she said, echoing his words from the past.

"And I have yours," he said. "Okay! Here's what we're going to do."

And that is how Alora ended up punching fiery cannon balls while her friends carried a beaten up Armorwing.

"Hiccup!" she yelled, looking behind him.

"I know!"

The couple went back and decided it'd be best to finish what they started. Together.

Alora used all of her remaining strength to knock out the rest of the Flyers. She saw Dagur was about to get beaten, but watched as the other half of the dragon was falling. So she flew and carried it on her back. She watched Hiccup throw the lens into the sea.

"Go!" Hiccup yelled.

And that was how they lost the lens. But to Hiccup, saving the dragon was worth it all.

Of course, we didn't know that it would later come back to bite us in the butt.

As the group reunited back in the clubhouse, Alora felt someone pull her aside.

Hiccup.

"I'm so sorry," she said.

"No, no it's okay," he told her. "You were right to say all those things. I've realized that I've been taking you for granted. I couldn't have done this without you Aly. The moment you entered my life it changed, but for the better. And since then, you've always been there for me. And I want to be there for you."

He placed her bracelet back on her wrist and gave her the one she made for him. He extended his wrist out to her.

"I love you Alora Danvers, with everything I have."

She slipped the bracelet onto his wrist.

"And I always will."

"I love you too, Hiccup Haddock," she said. "And you know what, you don't have to do all those things. I—"

Hiccup pulled her by the waist and gave her a deep kiss. Her knees felt weak and she placed her hands on his chest. When they pulled away, a voice startled them.

"Oh my," Mala said.

Alora felt her face redden and she looked at Astrid. She gave her a thumbs up.

". . . Meatlug and I are going to make some Gronckle Iron for the Armorwing, anyone want to join?"

Everyone raised their hands and walked out.

Alora blushed as Hiccup hugged her, placing his head on top of hers.
