nineteen - part one

ALORA SHOOK HICCUP AWAKE AS SHE SAW HIM TOSSING AND TURNING IN HIS SLEEP. She knew that he was having PTSD about the night they lost the Edge. She'd been told by Astrid that he'd blown up his hut that night. It got her thinking, just how much does she know about the boy? She's been so preoccupied with her own thing that she never stopped to ask about their stories. Their traumas.

Hiccup jolted awake and Alora handed him a cup of water.

"Easy Prince, easy," she told him. "You're all right. It was just a nightmare."

Hiccup took slow and steady breaths.

"I'll be outside training."

Alora left him and flew up towards the sky. She took a deep breath herself and then, she fell back and allowed herself to fall. Just as she was about to hit the ground, she heard Hiccup scream which caused her to stop just right before she broke into a building.

"Having fun up there?" Mala asked.

"Uh, still getting used to it."

"Well, judging by your fallen 'S' symbol," Mala said, pointing towards the ground. "I'd say you're in need of a suit."

"Wait really?!"

She flew towards one of the huts and saw her new suit. She was quick to put it on. She had a wrap around her hands and the blue long sleeved had a golden 'S' in the middle of it, with a triangle. She knew the Defenders must've taken a look at her bracelet. The dark brown belt was wrapped three times around her waist to hold up the light brown skirt. She had blue pants to match the shirt. As thankful as she was for the golden boots, she'd kept on her boots since she didn't want to stand out too much.

Suddenly she heard a roar outside. She used her new super speed to tie her hair into a braid and burst out of the hut. She extended her arms and clapped, causing a gust of wind to knock back the Singetails.

"GUYS!"

Hiccup got on Toothless and the rest mounted their dragons to take flight.

"Nice suit A!" Tuffnut said. "Really brings the blue out of your eyes!"

"Not now Tuff!"

She went below and used her breath to try and take out the fire. Mala placed a hand on her.

"Your team needs you, go!"

Alora placed her hand on hers.

"Thank you. For everything."

Mala nodded her head and Alora went up into the air, following her friends. She knocked out the two Singetail riders before following behind Toothless.

It wasn't long before other riders found them. Alora made sure the group pushed ahead as she went back to fight.

"DON'T HURT THE SINGETAILS!" she heard Hiccup yell.

"I'M TRYING MY BEST!"

She flew through its fire and knocked out both of the riders before heading back towards the group, leaving one behind.

"Have I ever told you how much I love that you can do that?" Snotlout told her.

"I just got these powers Stark," she said, now sitting behind Hiccup. "I get drained."

"You've done enough," Hiccup told her. "Now it's time we go back home."

"Home?"

"Berk."

Alora would be lying if she said she wasn't happy to be back in Berk. But of course it wasn't under good conditions that they were there.

"Now you look like a true Viking warrior."

She turned and saw Astrid admiring her suit.

"Tell Hiccup I'll be on the lookout and use my super hearing to search for them."

"If I find him I will, but right now I have to train the others."

Alora nodded her head.

She looked out and heard a familiar growl. Alora set out towards the sea stacks and saw Hiccup sitting down. Thinking.

"Prince of Berk?"

He turned around.

"Princess? Wha– How'd you find me?"

"Super hearing, remember?" she said. "So, you wanna talk about it?"

He felt her sit down beside him.

"Not really."

She raised an eyebrow.

"Aly it's not the Singetails' faults. T-They're being—"

"Forced to do it, I know Hiccup. We all do," she told him. "But a war is coming. . ."

He shook his head.

"Aly, I can't hurt the dragons."

"I know," she told him. "I know it's not easy, but I'm not seeing any other way."

He scoffed.

"What?"

"Well that's easy for you to say, you're a warrior, princess," he said. "I'm not. I-I don't have the stomach for it. And I can't lead something knowing I don't believe in it."

"Hiccup. Hiccup!"

Alora watched as he flew away towards the sunset. She groaned and kicked the boulder off of the stack before making her way back towards Berk.

She went into the forest and started using her own methods of training herself. She imagined being back on the Edge, training. But as she did, she knocked into a tree.

"Do you ever think about Aly taking the mantle?" Alex asked.

"Uh, I've thought about it," Kara said. "But I'd want it to be her choice. Not forced."

"Kara Danvers retiring the Supergirl mantle," a man said. "That'll be a sight to see."

"Little Aly Danvers taking over the Supergirl mantle," another woman said. "I can't wait to see that sight."

"In the meantime, Supergirl, I think you need to take a look at this," another man said.

"What is it?"

"It's Lex Luther."

"Oh, what has my brother done now?!"

She saw that the woman was angry.

Alora woke up in a sweat. She saw that the sky had darkened and when she went back to the training arena, everyone was gone.

"Aly?"

Alora turned around.

"Where is everyone?"

Before she could reply, a voice beat her to it.

"Chief flew everyone out towards the Edge. Wanted to set out to do a pre-emptive strike."

She turned and saw a younger raven-haired boy on a Monstrous Nightmare.

"Uh, who's he?"

"Gustav," he winked. "Gustav Larson. And you, M'lady?"

Alora scrunched up her nose.

"Aly Danvers."

"D-Danvers?" Hiccup repeated.

"It's my last name, apparently," she told him.

"Anyways, we need to set out."

Hiccup nodded his head.

"Gustav, come with us. We may need you."
