ALL WAS WELL FOR ALORA. Everyone was out training and all she did was nap. That was until a stranger decided to make himself comfortable in Hiccups hut.
"Who are you?"
Alora shot up from Hiccup's bed.
I'm one hundred percent sure he never knew I slept in his bed when he was gone. Listen, I didn't mind sleeping on that makeshift thing you call a bed, but every once in a while I needed to get a decent nap.
"Well I could ask you the same thing!" she exclaimed.
They held eye contact.
"Dagur."
"Aly. I'm Hiccups—"
"Girlfriend?"
She snorted.
"He wishes. I'm his friend."
Dagur's attention was attracted elsewhere when he saw the fire sword and started messing with it.
"Uh, Hiccup's not going to like that."
Just then, the door retracted and oh behold, the Prince arrived.
"Brother!"
"I tried to stop him, Hiccup!" she said, scrambling off his bed and running down the stairs.
Okay, so I'm ninety percent sure he didn't know.
Hiccup closed the door and took the sword from him.
"I have two questions. One, Aly what are you doing up there?"
"Stretches!" she lied.
Eighty.
"Two. Dagur, what the Thor are you doing here?"
Alora made her way downstairs and scratched Toothless to calm him down.
"I'll let you boys talk," she said, trying to take the fire sword.
"Drop it," Hiccup told her, not looking her way.
"You're such a royal pain in the ass," she whispered.
"I heard that!"
"Good! You were supposed to!"
So she waited outside and when Dagur mentioned something, she held in a snicker. When he was gone, Alora looked at Hiccup with an amused look.
"Don't you dare."
"'Small and cuddly'," she repeated. "You hear that Toothless, the Prince of Berk is 'small and cuddly'!"
"That's it," he said, walking away.
As they ate dinner, Alora witnessed Hiccup's horrible acting (because apparently he said no one could know Dagur was here). She couldn't bear it and went back to the hut.
∾
There were screams of terror raging all around her. People were running as fires broke out left and right. She could feel their fear. A couple held her in their arms before putting her inside something. Then a woman appeared. She held her tightly as she walked around the area which appeared to be her home. Giggles filled the air and the woman said, "It's okay Aly. You're safe here."
Alora shot up, sweat rolled down her forehead as Astrid dragged her out of bed and towards the training area.
Dagur was in ropes.
'Shit,' she thought.
The group interrogated him and he even pointed out that Alora knew he was here. Then, Hiccup came along and she took it upon herself to hide behind his skinny frame.
"What is happening?!" Astrid asked. "Dagur says that you and Aly are buddies now and now you're teaching how to ride a dragon?!"
Hiccup laughed nervously and Alora held his arms to his side.
"See, it's a funny story actually," he told the blonde.
And so he told the story to them (a story that Alora was not aware of).
I really should've asked questions. But by this point I was completely out of it and just focused on getting my memory back.
"Wait, you tried to kill them?!" Alora yelled.
"That still doesn't explain why you're teaching him how to ride a dragon," Tuffnut said.
"I'm looking for Heather," Dagur told them.
Alora gave Hiccup a glare, and the Chief's son couldn't find himself to look back at her.
"Why?" Alora asked. "Sorry I came into this bunch way too late."
"Because she's my sister."
Alora made an 'O' shape with her mouth and decided it was best to keep quiet.
After everyone parted, Alora was left in her thoughts. She was thinking about that woman. She'd definitely seen her before. Back when she was falling from the sky, she was there. She was there when Alora was falling through the cracks of the earthquake.
Earthquake?
Alora pushed past the twins and started running towards Hiccups hut. She opened the retractable door and started rummaging through her parchment. She saw her writing, talking about thinking she was falling when she wasn't. Hearing loud sounds and feeling the ground shake.
Nightfall occurred and she was still up even when the boys fell asleep. When they woke up, she had passed out on her parchment.
That afternoon, she had woken up again. She went back to her notes and started regrouping them, then a daydream found her.
"Come on Lily!"
Her younger self waved a small stick around and the girl, Lily laughed. They fell on top of each other and Lily hugged her tightly.
"You're the best sister ever!"
"Holy s—"
The door opened. Alora turned and saw Hiccup drenched in rain. Toothless followed suit.
"Hiccup? What's wrong?"
He shook his head.
"I should've listened to him."
Alora didn't ask questions. Instead, she engulfed her friend in a hug and he hugged her back, wanting some sort of comfort.
She knew Dagur was dead. He didn't say it, but she knew.
Full disclosure, he didn't die. But we thought he did.
He looked over and saw a bunch of parchment paper scattered around.
"What happened here?" he asked.
She bit her lip, knowing it wasn't the best time. But that look on his face changed her mind.
"I remembered something," she told him. "I have a sister."
His eyes widened.
"A-A sister?"
She nodded her head.
"Her name is Lily, and that's as far as I got."
"That's-That's wonderful!"
She decided to refrain from telling him about the earthquake. After all, he looked like crap and she was tired.
Don't worry. The story may be slow right now, but trust me, things are going to get interesting from now on.
