fourteen - part two

IT WOULD BE AN UNDERSTATEMENT TO SAY THAT EVERYONE WAS MAD TO SEE A LIVING AND BREATHING VIGGO OUTSIDE OF THE CLUBHOUSE, WITH TOOTHLESS AS THEIR GUARD. Astrid was still thinking about her talk with Alora, but the girls knew that conversation would have to wait for a later time. After all, they had bigger things to worry about.

Eventually, they ended up locking Viggo up in the stables and Hiccup lined everyone up as they prepared for battle. If they didn't stop them now, then they'd be heading straight to Berk. Hiccup barked orders (once again), and as soon as he was done, Alora looked at Astrid. She nodded her head and got everyone out of their way.

"Hiccup we need to talk," she said.
"Okay."

"L-Look. I know this is poor timing but. . ." Alora contemplated on how she was going to tell him. "Instead of telling you, I'll-I'll show you."

"Aly, what are you. . .?"

She kneeled down and punched the ground, causing the floor to shake. Hiccup kneeled down in front of her and examined the punch.

"This. . .changes everything."

With Alora's newfound skill, Hiccup was determined to keep her strength a secret from Viggo and the Hunters. So when the morning came and they were suddenly attacked, Hiccup didn't hesitate to yell out for everyone to go back to their huts. It was obvious to Alora that he wanted to wait out the initial attack.

As he pulled her and Toothless inside, Alora couldn't help but feel nervous since she knew he hadn't had the time to comprehend that she'd kept her 'powers' a secret.

Well, that and another reason.

But when the ground shook, she saw that he was still waiting for her to spill everything. So she did. From the moment when she found out the Defenders of the Wings darts didn't work on her up until now.

"Did anyone else know about this?"

Alora bit her lip.

"Who else?" she replied.

"Astrid," he whispered. "She told me she saw something and that you had it in you."

"W-What did she see?"

"She saw you levitating in your sleep. She thought you were possessed. But then she started noticing little dents in your 'anger management corner' and realized that it was something else," Hiccup said in realization. "Why didn't I listen to her?!"

"W-Wait, did you just say I was 'levitating' in my sleep?!"

Another blow. Toothless groaned.

"I know bud," Hiccup said. "I'm not enjoying this either. Look Aly, whatever's going on we're going to get through it, but for right now we're going to leave it on the table until we can free that dragon."

The first wave ended and everything was a mess. Hiccup and Alora regrouped with everyone else in the clubhouse. And of course, Viggo was out (since Snotlout let him out) and practically begged to help Hiccup. Alora wasn't buying it and neither were the rest of the Riders. But at some point, Hiccup made the final call and listened to him.

"Aly, Snotlout, do not let him out of your sight," Hiccup said, pointing at Viggo.

The girl nodded her head and Snotlout groaned. Viggo turned back around to look at her.

"'Aly'?"

She scrunched her eyebrows and said, "What, did you seriously think my name was Leia?"

"It should be, it's much prettier," Snotlout told her. "Alright let's get you back to the stables."

"The stables? Are you sure?" Alora asked.

"Aly, honey, let me handle this, okay?"

Snotlout walked out with Viggo and headed towards the stables where he was going to lock him up again. A few moments later, she watched as he and Hookfang went out with the rest of the group.

"Are you kidding me?!"

Then moments later, the stables were shot at. The same stables that held Viggo.

"Ugh! Dammit!"

She ran down towards the building and into the fire.

She approached the gate very slowly and opened her mouth with the intention of speaking slowly and lacing every word with venom.

"Do not. . .make me. . .regret this, Viggo," she told him.

"Aly?" Viggo said, coughing on the floor.

She opened the lock and tossed the chain before placing his arm over her shoulders. Then, she saw Hiccup and Toothless in front of her.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

"I'm fine," Viggo replied, coughing.

"I wasn't asking you."

"Relax your highness," she said. "I'll be okay. But right now, we need to get the team assembled."

"You said to keep him in his cell!" Snotlout yelled. "You can't toy with my emotions like this Hiccup! I'm too fragile right now."

"Are we really trusting Viggo to be on the loose, especially now?" Astrid asked.

"If he can help figure out how to stop this attack—" Hiccup was cut off by the blonde.

"What if he can't? What if he won't. What if this was all part of his plan and we just walked right into it?"

"Then, we walked into it," Hiccup told her. "But I'm making the call, Viggo and I are gonna take this thing down."

"I'm coming with you," Alora said.

"No, you're not," Hiccup told her. "You need to stay here and hold down the fort."

Alora glanced back at Astrid who shrugged her shoulders, but looked just as confused as her.

"That's Astrid's job."

"Well now it's both of your jobs," he said. "Both of you are holding down the fort."

With that he walked away with Viggo and flew off towards the ships.

"You're not thinking about staying here are you?" Astird asked.

"Nope," Alora said.

"Good. Just making sure we're on the same page."

"Get Stormfly," Alora told her. "We're gonna chase after them. Everyone else, go after the ships and meet us there!"

The two girls flew after Hiccup and saw Viggo holding a dagger above him.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you," Astrid yelled.

"Astrid. Aly," Viggo said.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! What the Thor?!" Hiccup yelled, looking at the dagger.

"That's a dainty dagger Viggo, guess what?" she pulled hers out of her shirt. "I got one of my own."

"I'm afraid you may have misinterpreted the situation," he told them.

"No, I think we've interpreted it pretty well," Astrid said.

"Now drop it," Alora said, pointing her dagger at him.

"Exactly what I planned all along!"

"Uh, huh. Sure you did," both girls said.

"A moment ladies, and all will be revealed."

As he did, the girls noticed bubbles erupting from the surface of the water.

They were hovering right over another dragon. One that she couldn't make out, but apparently the other three did.

"Shit!" Hiccup exclaimed.

Astrid turned around and glared at Alora.

Okay so maybe, I'm a bit of a bad influence.

Maybe?!

Alora enjoyed riding on Stormfly and being able to take out all the ships. Since the two dragons were fighting, she felt that everything was going smoothly.

"Astrid! I'm slowing you guys down! Drop me off!"

"Are you sure?!"

"One hundred percent," she said, seeing that Hiccup and Viggo weren't anywhere around.

So the blonde listened to her best friend and dropped her off, which soon became a mistake as soon as she was held back by a force.

She tossed and turned as she was being dragged up the mountain. Suddenly, she heard a voice. His voice.

"Looks like this nightmare is finally over."

"Are you sure about that, Hiccup?"

Viggo took the dagger from her hand and placed it underneath her chin. She saw Hiccup's fists tighten but his facial expression had changed when she lightly shook her head. She knew that the dagger wasn't going to do anything to her.

But Hiccup didn't.

"Let me guess, you want the Dragon Eye in exchange for Aly."

"Oh, it sounds so much colder when you say it like that, but yes. And while I do appreciate your assistance in putting my brother in his rightful place, I must insist that you return it to where it belongs. With me."

She watched as Hiccup took the Dragon Eye out.

"Don't you dare!" she yelled. "I can take him."

"Are you really going to sacrifice your future, all the wonderful years you have ahead of you, for that?"

'What the fuck is he talking about?!' Alora thought.

He said that?!

FISHLEGS!

Sorry!

He glanced at the Dragon Eye and then back at her. That's when Hiccup formed a plan in his head.

"Well, I guess when you put it that way, no I'm NOT!" he yelled, chucking the Dragon Eye into the volcano.

Viggo released his grip and ran after the eye with her dagger in his hand. Then, as he chased after it the ground beneath him shook and he fell into the volcano. Hiccup and Alora ran to see if he was still there, but he was gone.

"It didn't have to end this way," Hiccup said.

Alora hesitated on talking. Instead she placed a hand on his upper back and patted the spot.

"Are you okay?" she asked in a small voice, obviously a bit taken aback from the previous events.

"Are you?"

When either didn't respond. They knew the answer to their questions.

"S-So when he said 'all the wonderful years you have ahead of you'. . .you don't think that he was referring to."

"U-Uh. Yeah he probably was."

The two looked at each other and laughed.

"Yeah."

"In your dreams, Dragon Dork."

"Hey!"
