twenty five - part one

IT HAD BEEN A FEW MONTHS SINCE ALORA AND HICCUP DECIDED TO TRY OUT THEIR NEW RELATIONSHIP. And after two months, the group was starting to become aware that something was going on between the two. Alora had told Hiccup what she remembered, in fact, she basically told him her whole life story and the boy was grateful. She felt as though everything was going perfectly until. . .

"So why aren't we telling everyone again?" Hiccup whispered.

"Because, we're still figuring it out," Alora told him. "Plus once we told them they'll be all over our asses."

"That's true."

"So are you gonna tell me?"

"Tell you what?"

"When you first got the butterflies?"

Hiccup rolled his eyes.

"The storm."

"When I was blind?" she laughed.

"I know! I know, it's weird. What about you?"

"The night after Fishlegs hypnotized me."

The two paused. Hiccup started laughing.

"What?"

"The fact that we both fell for each other under the weirdest circumstances."

Alora shook her head and as she looked up, she saw Hiccup staring at her.

"W-What?"

She could feel her cheeks heat up.

"Nothing."

As he leaned in, she did the same only she made him miss and whispered, "You need to stop procrastinating and sort out the extra metal."

"Ah!" He rubbed his ear with his shoulder. "Don't do that! You know I don't like it."

"That's exactly why I do it."

He scoffed and went out towards the training arena where the group was sorting.

"Where were you two?!" Snotlout said.

Just before he could reply Dagur landed with Mala.

"Hiccup!"

"Oh boy."

Alora saw that an arrow was sticking out of Dagur's back.

"Uh, what's going on?"

"We have a very important announcement to make," Mala said.

"I just finished the Defenders of the Wing King Trials!"

"We are getting married."

Alora's jaw dropped and Astrid walked up to her and closed it with her hand.

Fishlegs was so happy seeing the couple, but Alora couldn't help but feel intimidated due to her new relationship. Hiccup also felt tense but neither said a word. After hearing the nicknames and 'love at first sight' deal, Alora bit her lip. Were she and Hiccup going to be like that?

Nope.

They kept throwing around the word 'true love' and Alora was starting to tense up even more. Before she said anything, Hiccup pulled her aside.

"Okay spill it."

"We should tell them."

"W-What?!" he whispered. "N-Now?"

"I don't know," she said, unsure.

"Aly, are you nervous because of Dagur and. . ."

"N-No," she said.

Hiccup watched as her entire face went completely red out of embarrassment. He had never seen this side of her.

"What the Thor?"

The couple turned and saw the twins staring at their clasped hands.

"You too?!"

"Double wedding!" Dagur yelled.

Astrid saw the two flustered teens and looked at Alora. She was mad. Not because they were together, but because she didn't tell her first.

Alora saw this and started speaking fast.

"I swear I was going to tell you, but then I got really nervous because it's the first relationship I've ever been in and I just got so anxious and I know that you're his best friend so I was going to tell you first, and I'm so sorry that I didn't it's just—"

"Slow down Aly," Hiccup said.

"We've been dating for four months!"

"OKAY!" Snotlout yelled, interrupting her confession. "Let's just all take a deep breath and focus on one couple at a time."

I'd been on the island for about a year. A year worth of gaining their trust and a year worth of being Hiccup's friend. This new year though had changed everything. I honestly thought he was going to go with Astrid since they'd been friends for years. So did it surprise me when he tried to kiss me a few nights before? Yes. Yes it did.

The couple had only kissed once and it was two nights after they'd gotten back from the Wingmaiden's Island. She hovered them above his hut and they kissed under the moonlit sky.

The girl contemplated and she couldn't help but feel a tad bit jealous that all it took was a few days for Mala and Dagur to fall in love.

It was then that she decided to make Hiccup his own bracelet.

With the help of Fishlegs, she made him a braided bracelet and in the middle was her family's symbol made out of Gronckle iron. She hid the bracelet and waited for him. When she heard the door open, she ran towards it. . . Only to find the twins outside.

"Fish or yak?" Tuffnut asked.

"Is this for the wedding?" she asked.

When she got no response she said, "Yak."

Then, she heard Toothless and looked up at her boyfriend happily.

"Hey Aly."

"Hiccup!"

"Wanna help me deliver scrap metal?"

She pursed her lips and nodded her head. Toothless eyed the bracelet she hid behind her back and smiled.

She went with Hiccup, Dagur, and Fishlegs to deliver the metal. Alora tried to approach him, but Dagur interrupted her.

"Why Hiccup?! Why?!"

"W-Well, we're giving it the metal because the Armowing uses it to protect itself so—"

"No! Why must I be away from my beloved?! My heart bleeds without her, like it's been ripped from my heaving chest and left to die on a lonely, distant rock."

Fishlegs was soaking in the romance and Alora pushed past them.

"Aly, are you okay?"

Before she could answer, Dagur got down on one knee in front of Hiccup and asked him to be his best man.

Alora glared at them and heard the dragon.

"Armorwing is approaching, everyone take your positions," Alora grumbled.

They hid behind the bushes and watched it take the metal. It was at that moment that Alora decided to speak to him.

"Hiccup?"

"Yes?"

"I have something to give you."

"O-Okay."

Alora held out the bracelet. Hiccup stared at it and glanced at her.

"What's that?"

"It's for you."

"Okay," he said, unsure what was happening.

Alora leaned the wrist with her bracelet hoping he would get the message.

"Do you notice it?" she asked.

"Yes. YES!" Hiccup yelled. "Of course!"

She sighed in relief.

"You're trying to tell me that the Armorwing has a Dragon Eye lens!"

She scrunched up her face and turned around to see an actual Dragon Eye lens on the dragon. She huffed and stuffed the bracelet in her pocket as he tried to approach the Nightmare. Fishlegs gave her a sympathetic smile.

Just as Hiccup approached it, Flyers came by and started shooting at them. The Armorwing ran away and Alora flew up into the sky to take care of the men. They left and Alora knew that they were only scouting the island.

"Dammit!" she gritted through her teeth.

"As soon as Krogan finds out we're here, he'll be coming to find out why we're here. We have to find the Armorwing and get the lens off him before they get here!" Hiccup yelled.
