THE BRUNETTE GIRL EXAMINED HER NEWLY MADE BRACELET AS SHE WAITED FOR HER BEST FRIEND TO FINISH BEATING UP SNOTLOUT (SINCE HE'D TAKEN HER AX AGAIN).
"What's that?" she heard a voice ask.
Alora was flustered at Heather's appearance.
"N-Nothing."
The raven-haired girl had visited the island a while back. Today, she was heading home to Berserker Island.
Oh right, forgot to tell you about that. So long story short, Heather and Dagur run the island that their father once ruled.
"Hey, how long do you think they'll be? I wanted to say goodbye to Astrid before I head home."
Just as Alora was about to respond, she heard her best friend's battlecry. She winced as the double doors opened and a very angry Astrid appeared. Heather went to go say goodbye.
Heather didn't leave at all. She stayed the entire time afterwards to make sure Astrid was okay.
Alora watched as Astrid started making her way to. . .
The girl immediately ran to Snotlout and asked, "What did you say to her?!
Now for the sake of my best friend. . . And me as well, I shall not repeat what Stark said to her. But just know that it was bad enough to make Astrid go into the armory to find something to hit Snotlout with.
Snotlout took off on his dragon and left the riders to try and calm the blonde girl down.
five hours later
"So are we going to just pretend like nothing is wrong?" Hiccup asked.
No one said a word. Alora didn't even make a snappy comeback (which scared Hiccup, because that was very out of charactr for her).
"Nothing is wrong," Astrid said, calmly.
"He should've been back by now, okay? He never leaves for long," Hiccup said, worried.
"You know, there is a chance he got caught in that storm," Fishlegs said, looking outside.
Seeing the lighting made Astrid's hand shake, but it was nothing compared to Alora's frozen body.
I'm a thirty two-year-old woman, and to this day I find myself hiding underneth my blanket and covering my ears whenever there's a storm.
"It's Snotlout. Of course he got caught in the storm," Ruffnut said. "The question is, do we—?"
Hiccup lightly slammed his hands on the table and said, "You know the answer to that question, and it's yes. Let's go. Aly, you can stay here if you want to."
Alora bit her lip and shook her head.
"It's okay! Toothless will protect me from the storm!" she joked
∾
The storm was brutal. It was the most brutal, horrific thing she'd gone through.
Compared to today's standards, it was the least.
Toothless used his echolocation to try and find Hookfang.
It had been hours and the whole team was soaked. Alora would be lying if she didn't think that seeing Hiccup drenched in the rain was the hottest sight she'd ever seen.
Wait, seriously? Me being drenched in the rain? That's what—
*clears throat*
O-Oh, right. Sorry, my bad.
"Hiccup maybe we should go back to the Edge and wait out the Storm," Fishlegs said. "We'll come back and—"
"Wait! Do you guys see that?!" Hiccup yelled.
It was Hookfang! His firey body lit the way for the riders as the dragon guided them out of the storm and into the unknown.
The Monstrous Nightmare didn't give them a chance to relax, and by then Alora felt like she was stuck to Toothless's saddle.
Just as they reached high enough into the clouds the group watched as Hookfang retreated back. Then, they saw three women hovering below them.
"Holy—" Alora started.
"—shit," Hiccup finished.
They retreated back to scope out the area. The entire village was filled with flying women.
"It's like Themyscira, but add a pair of wings to their backs," Alora said.
"Look, it's full of women down there and Hiccup, if you want to save Snotlout you're going to have to let me, Aly, Heather, and Ruffnut take the lead. They're more likely to confine in us than you guys."
"Can I take Toothless?!" Alora asked.
Hiccup gave her a look.
"Actually I think it'd be best for us to ride on Windshear," Heather said, looking through Hiccup's portable telescope. "There's something familiar about those wings."
Alora pouted and scratched Toothless on the side of his head.
"Another time bud, another day."
She took off a bag from Toothless's side, and looked at everyone's confused looks.
"You seriously think I'm not going to prepare for a situation like this? I will not be wearing wet clothes the entire time!"
The four girls rode on the back of Windshear and that was when one of the winged women approached them.
"What a beautiful Razorwhip," she said. "And well behaved too."
"I've had her since she was a hatchling," Heather said. "She must've gotten separated from her mother."
"I am Atali," the woman said.
Alora noticed the other two women pop up.
"We are not here to harm you, but to ask how is it you found yourselves on our island's borders."
"There was a terrible storm," Astrid told her. "We were on our way back to our own island and we must've gotten blown off course."
"I'm afraid we don't allow men on our island, so your friend—"
"Hey!" Ruffnut said. "I'm more woman than you'll ever be, sister!"
"My apologies. Follow us. We'll provide you with shelter and a hot meal this evening."
"What's on the menu?" Alora asked.
"Stew. Sacred stew."
'They're gonna eat Snotlout?! Damn, that's intense!' Alora thought.
As they arrived on the island, Alora asked if she could change. They quickly provided her a room and she stuffed her old clothes into the bag before putting on the tunic dress. She walked out and ran after her group.
The woman, Altai, was giving them a tour of the island. As soon as she left, Astrid devised a plan to find Snotlout and told the other two girls to distract the Chief.
Alora complained about having to help her find the egotistical boy. But Astrid said, "He's our muttonhead. We have to."
I won't bore you with the details.
Afterward, two girls retreated back to find Heather and Ruffnut completely drenched in mud. Alora figured it must've been from the boar pits they saw from above.
The brunette was hoping they could leave early, but she was glad they didn't once the 'Wingmaidens' (as they called themselves) showed them a large area filled with Razorwhip babies. It was then that Atali told them the story of how the tribe dedicated their lives to saving the young Razorwhips.
And that was when they learned that the area Astrid sent Snotlout in was the nesting area. Apparently a male presence makes female Razorwhips who are nesting very violent.
In shorter terms, Astrid killed Snotlout.
I'm right here!
*whispers* Sadly.
The girls retreated back to the boys with three of the Wingmaidens as they relayed the new information to them. So Hiccup devised a plan. The males would distract the other Razorwhips while the females saved Snotlout.
It's no surprise that it worked. At the end of the day they were welcomed in, and all was well until. . .
"Is that my old tunic?" Hiccup asked.
Alora looked down and shook her head.
"No, it's a dress."
"That's Hiccup's old tunic," Astrid laughed. "And the fact that it fits you like a dress—!"
"Be quiet!!!"
Everyone laughed and Hiccup was left unamused, wondering how she got it in the first place.
I saw it in the drawer he never used and figured it'd be okay if I wore it. Surprisingly it still fits me.
'Surprisingly'?
Alora pouted and drank the contents in her cup till her heart was content.
