Chapter 31: Join Me
We woke up...silent, and with a strong desire to return back to sleep. But we had to press on.
With the silence and focus, our movement was methodic. But my mind was undisciplined -- it roamed carelessly through the events of the previous night.
I couldn't help but occasionally steal glances at her. A part of me too hoped she turned and just make a word to me.
No!
She would spare me no word...not even a gaze.
Unlike myself, I found Rina to be disciplined...nearly too disciplined. It was was almost as if nothing had happened the last night. Her eyes were bright. Her countenance sound. Did she even remember any of it? Of course she did.
Aye, this was tormenting as well. This would be a long day.
Signs of inhabitation drew back my wandering mind. We had been at the roads -- we were growing weary.
"Delverwich. Two miles"
The post declared.
"Tired already," she hissed with razor edge sarcasm.
She wouldn't give me chance foe a retort even. She charged on hardly.
The village was decent. We had gone for a small inn, and hoped the rooms could just serve.
But I couldn't end such burdensome day without a mug of rum or two. So while I moved to the bar, which was enveloped of course with the enormous cheer of drunkards, locals and village folks, jamming their steel cups, in the rhythm of several smart duets...Rina had coldly made her way to the room we had requested.
I had made for an up-hoistered stool, and rested my hands on the buffet, when the service lady walked by with a seducing smile. Without any word, she filled my mug with the hard drink, which in no time, I selfishly gulp away.
She smiled, rather impressed, and then refreshed my mug with the drink. Her lips were filled, and the seductress had her way with them.
"I would be back for you stranger," She whispered, whilst taking the ceramic jug and moving away to fill cups and pack dishes.
Apparently the seductress charm had several captives as myself. I couldn't help but gaze at her way ward hips.
This girl was no good to my restless soul.
Her grace was tempting grace. Every of it. At last she was through, and then returned to me...this time even more violent than the other.
She placed herself on my knee, so she made a seat out of my laps, and without a word, she began teasing me, with her soft voice and tender hands.
Hard drinks and wild women, were indeed the source for a strong mans fall. And I just knew where exactly the provoked passion would end.
She touched my lips slow and rhythmically. Her tender lips came in time, melting on mine. I felt the rushing of desires pour the more as she softly caressed my face.
"Rina!" I managed to say from the lock of her lips. But instantly, she broke out and stared at me.
"Its Mala...not Rina." She corrected with a confused smile.
I sat frozen once she had spoken now. And it was at that sheer moment the consciousness had hit me sternly.
This was not Rina. Why then would I wish she be Rina?
I push away the mindless woman from upon me. She took my actions with confusion. But I spared her no words...she wasn't worth it.
Our lodge was at the upper flow. Rina would be waiting. This was more of hope than verity.
I moved into the room. Rina was laying when I walked in through the door, and it seemed much like she was fast at sleep.
Slowly, I took off my boots, and then slipped myself unto the bed...only thanking in my mind that I was back to her side. But it all still meant nothing...her end remained silent.
The night was quiet. All of nature affirmed the beauty of the moment. But not me. My torments grew. Apparently, even a jug of ale couldn't clear my troubled head.
My mind was taunting me, and my heart lashing.
How could I lay on the same bed, and be that close with her, and yet not realise I how much I missed her. I was so near to her...her I felt so distant.
"Rina!" I whispered calmly, but their was no response. I took a deep exhale amidst my cold feet, knowing fully that I was about to do one of the most remarkably stupid things ever.
"Rina!" I called again, barely above a whisper, but their was still no response.
"Rina!" I called the third time. This time, even louder than the previous times. Still, their was no response. No motion to tell that she was listening.
I had become too attached to this woman. I knew...as I had for a while. I just feared to admit the truth. But my heedless mind craved her, and their was no way to melt its yearnings.
There she was, wrapped in the blanket. Her delicate body was warm and serene. She let out so much heat that could turn my body to flames.
My guts clenched. I had never felt like this in a long time. Aye, I needed a clear my mind. I needed be free of this torture.
With a sigh I inclined to her. My hands stroke her body gently. Swallowing my pride, I let the words out.
"I am sorry." Barely above a whisper.
She responded positively this time...as I had hoped. Her hands held mine desirous. Cladding herself with them, she turned to me with a fire that matched my passion. And then her word swam out low.
"Join me."
