Akshara: Abhi . Who have we come to meet?

Abhimanyu :nobody he said

Before Akshara could turn to Abhimanyu  to ask more questions he put a blindfold around Akshara eyes

Akshara: Abhimanyu  what are you doing she said able to feel him tie the fold

Akshara took a deep breath when she felt Abhimanyu  whisper in her ears

Abhimanyu : get ready for the surprise Akshu...mainly planned by me only he said

His one hand went around her shoulder while he held her other hand with their fingers intertwined

As they reached outside the condo door Akshara felt  Abhimanyu  move away from her

Expecting him to speak he didnt say anything and as she coudlnt take the silence anymore she removed the blindfold and closed her eyes as she tried to adjust to the light...when she was able to see clearly she turned around to see if Abhimanyu  was behind her but he was nowhere

Akshara: where did Abhimanyu  go she said facing the same direction she was standing earlier when her lips parted seeing what was on the door

There was a big banner with HAPPY BIRTHDAY AKSHARA on the door and the best thing about the banner was that it had small images of hers on the letters from when she was child to now, as she moved her hand to caress it she noticed a small piece of paper which was folded and attached to her name.

Akshara  took the paper out and unfolded it to see  what was written inside

"open the door with  that crazy  smile 🤪" Akshara  giggled a little by seen the note.

Akshara: You're mad Abhi she said quietly.

She pushed the door open to see it was dark but as she took few steps inside, the lights turned on.  She was awestruck with the way the condo was decorated

On the wall there was another banner with happy birthday my chatterbox written and her pictures stuck around the banner with silver and black balloons on the floor and some on the couches with few red heart shaped balloons.

Abhimanyu  closed the door silently while Akshara  was adoring the decoration  and he came and stood behind her.

As if sensing Abhimanyu  Akshara came back to reality when she felt him standing behind her and before she could move her breathing stopped when he spoke. 

Abhimanyu : happy birthday Akshu  he whispered in her ears making her jump with the close proximity.

Akshara  turned to look at him and held her breath when he tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

Abhimanyu : come and sit here he said taking her near the coffee table and made her sit down on the small stool

As he was about to move away she stopped him holding his wrist

Akshara : Now where are you going?

Abhimanyu : I'm here wait a minute he said smiling and removed her hold from his wrist

Akshara  watched as Abhimanyu  moved near the kitchen area and opened the fridge taking something out but as he turned towards her she was surprised to see a small cake that he was holding.

Abhimanyu  placed the cake in front of her with few candles, he told her to blow and make a wish.

Akshara  nodded and looked at Abhimanyu  before closing her eyes and made a wish to always keep him and her family always  happy and then blew the candle and cut the cake as Abhimanyu  sang her a birthday song.

She took a piece and fed Abhimanyu  and then when he fed her she frowned as she  tasted the cake.

Akshara : This cake doesnt look like it's from  the bakery did manjari ma make it ?

Abhimanyu : Nope he said smiling as he wiped the corner of her lips as some cream was there.

Akshara :then?

Abhimanyu :I made it

Akshara  eyes widened

Akshara : You made it??? She said turning towards him completely as he was sitting besides her on his knees.

Abhimanyu :haan I made it...i told you na all the arrangements that have been done here is done by me only means the cake is made from scratch by me too.

Akshara : Really? Means you took all the efforts to even make me a cake ?

Abhimanyu : haan I can do that much for you right.

Akshara  smiled, she moved forward and hugged Abhimanyu.

Akshara : I'm touched Abhimanyu  honestly. I know this is not the first time that you have done something for my birthday but this is the first time you have ever gone this far too do everything all by yourself, even baking cake which you clearly could have ordered

Abhimanyu :Oye chatterbox this is not the time to get senti.

Akshara : Well if you do such things I cant help it. Sometimes  from a crazy person you become so nice that none of us  can't help It she said breaking the hug

Abhimanyu : Crazy person haan. He said tickiling her to which she laughed and fell over him as he continued to tickle her making her roll on her back beside him

Akshara :ok sorry sorry stop now she said still laughing

Abhimanyu :much better he said trying to catch up with his breath and threw a balloon on her

Akshara : Abhimanyuuuuu she said throwing some balloon on him but shrieked when she popped a balloon. For a sec both were silent when they both burst out laughing laying beside each other.

After a while Abhimanyu  got up and walked over to the music player, he started a romantic song making Akshara  look at him as she sat up

Abhimanyu : May I have a dance with the birthday girl. He said in a low voice

Akshara  chuckled and nodded and got up with the help of Abhimanyu 

Abhimanyu  slid his hand on her waist slowly making Akshara  stiffen and as he pulled her closer her lips parted slowly.

Abhimanyu : What happened? He asked in a low voice with a small smile playing on his face

Akshara : um nothing. She said looking down for a sec and then looked back up to act normal but even she knew she couldnt be normal by having this man close to her like this.

Abhimanyu  and Akshara  moved slowly to the beat while they felt the wind touching their skin

Akshara  looked at Abhimanyu while Abhimanyu's gaze lingered on Akshara  making her confused and happy at the same time with his stare. She wanted to have hopes but at the same time she didn't want to.

Abhimanyu  then twirled Akshara  around few times when his both hands landed on her waist and her one hand on his shoulder and the other on his chest

Due to twirling Akshara  around couple of times few strands of hair was covering her face which Abhimanyu  found as a disturbance.
Akshara  watched as his hand moved towards her face and moved few strands from her face with his fingers slightly brushing against her cheeks, making her close her eyes for few secs and then open them again.

Abhimanyu : You comfortable?

Akshara : haan. she said barely able to speak properly

Abhimanyu  stroked her cheeks with his thumb and moved to place a kiss on her forehead. if it was the first time Akshara  would have found it weird but this hasn't been the first time Abhimanyu  has placed a kiss on her forehead or cheeks  as it has always been common and normal in their friendship. She wanted to take Abhimanyu's behaviour in a different way but was scared remembering his last behaviour when they had a lip lock...knowing her feelings for him have changed so all his actions will have a different effect on her.

Akshara  moved her hand on his lower back and moved to rest her head on his chest.while Abhimanyu  moved his hand on her back as both continued to move slowly to the music

Abhimanyu : How was this surpise? He asked with a smile feeling happy to have her in his arms.

Akshara  smiled as she stayed in the same position listening to his heartbeat

Akshara : Something I hadn't expected ...one of the best surprise that anyone can plan

Abhimanyu : well I know I'm the best and since you are with the best person you deserve all the good things coming your way

Akshara : awwww since I'm sweet you are learning to talk sweetly...this is what happens when you stay with someone who is the Bestest . She said cheekily

Abhimanyu :is that so?

Akshara : yessss...by the way where is my gift she said looking at him with her hands still around his lower back as she stopped moving

Abhimanyu :I knew it that you would want a gift in the end...I had thought this surpise will make me get away from giving you a gift but sadly I was wrong.

Akshara : well I want my gift at any cost so chalo where is my gift.

Abhimanyu  smiled and pointed towards the bed where there was about 3 gifts for Akshara 

Akshara  excitingly moved towards the bed and sat down while Abhimanyu  followed and sat beside her watching her excitingly open the gifts one by one

As Akshara  opened the first gift she saw there was an apple watch

Akshara : Abhiiiii you know I actually wanted AN Apple watch. Thank you so much.

Abhimanyu :The advantage of been a Doctor he said pulling his shirt collar up where as Akshara  rolled her eyes.

She then opened the next gift up which had a 'A' shaped initials on the necklace with crystal around the letter.

Akshara  : This is beautiful

Abhimanyu :can I make you wear it?

Akshara : yes...

Akshara  gave Abhimanyu  the necklace and turned around so that Abhimanyu  can hook the clip from the back...once done Akshara  looked at the necklace that  now was around her neck

Abhimanyu :Last gift is waiting for your attention madam come on .

Akshara  smiled and picked the last gift up

Abhimanyu :carefully ok

Akshara  frowned with a smile and unwrapped the gift

As she removed the wrapping paper her lips parted slowly seen the photo frame that was made out of  glass with a message written "for life" below the picture...Akshara  stared at the picture that was of hers and Abhimanyu's together which was taken before they were going to start college.

Abhimanyu : This picture has always been our favourite though. I did find it a little weird adding this pic because that Akshara  in the picture and now this Akshara  in front of me is like two set of people one who was a tomboy and now one who has grown into a beautiful person.

Akshara  smiled as Abhimanyu  said that...her cheeks slightly turned red when he called her beautiful.

Akshara : No matter how I am but this picture will always be precious and forget me mr look at you with this crazy cap of yours this baggy trousers and top and now look at you...I must say you have turned into a handsome young man she said looking at the frame and then at Abhimanyu.

Abhimanyu : correction I have always been handsome that is why all girls wanted to date me.

Akshara  : whatever, don't get so high.

Abhimanyu :well a fact is a fact deal with it

Akshara : This is a free world it's my choice if I want to take this as a fact or not.

Abhimanyu : Correct it is a free world so I'll consider it as a fact

Akshara : well anyways...thank you for the gifts Abhimanyu  they all are lovely

Abhimanyu :I'm glad you loved it...so do you want to go back home now he said picking the cake up and placed it in a cake container

Akshara :can we stay here for tonight please?only if you are comfortable and ok with it.

Abhimanyu  who was closing the container was surprised when Akshara  said that.

Abhimanyu  : you want to stay over?

Akshara : yh only if you are ok with it. She said shrugging her shoulders

Abhimanyu :I have no issues Akshu,  but you havent got any clothes to change in.

Akshara  placed the frame down and walked over to Abhimanyu 

Akshara : have you got clothes over here?

Abhimanyu : well I do have my spare clothes here.

Akshara  didnt answer and moved to open Abhimanyu 's wardrobe and searched

Once she found what she was looking for she turned to Abhimanyu  who saw a teeshirt and jogging bottoms in her hand

Akshara :dont forget I once was a tomboy who would even wear your clothes she said smirking and walked to the washroom while Abhimanyu  smiled widely

Abhimanyu :Akshara  in my clothes again...this time the feeling is different he said pushing his hair back

He sat on the couch recalling all their happy moments till now. 

Abhimanyu  :I'll cherish this moment too and the time we will spend tonight and every other night. Thought I'll tell you my feelings once qe reach home but looks like this condo will get to witness it. He said with a huge smile.

Precrap: Abhimanyu  caressed Akshara  hand

Abhimanyu : life was so strange Akshu  here I thought I only loved you as a friend but it took me so long to realise that I had always loved you more than a friend and still love you...I'm sorry for giving you pain always but I love you chatterbox I love you more than anything he said with tears in his eyes
