23. Journey
Keep moving they say, never stand still,
But how long does one keep wandering?
Do we keep taking step after step, until,
It is too late to realise we are lost?
Do we still stick to that routine drill
Of moving without a moment's rest?
Maybe one should learn to stop and care.
A journey of a thousand miles, it is said,
Starts with a single step,
And even if it puts you ahead,
It does not mean you never halt.
When with weariness you do tread,
The journey becomes a burden.
With desperation and dread,
You take a step after another.
Maybe one should learn to stop and care.
To keep moving is not always right,
For in the rush to reach somewhere;
You are oblivious and miss the sights,
Perpetual motion is not always desirable.
Cloudy day, sunny afternoons, and starry nights,
One should enjoy the little things of life.
Maybe one should learn to stop and care.
