18. Flight
Have you ever truly
seen how majestic a bird is
when in flight?
With wings outstretched,
feathers fluttering in the wind,
it reaches heights.
Or simply flies low
above ground, hoping, a tasty
worm to sight.
Then again it soars,
till it is just a speck against,
the clouds white.
Sometimes, it just glides,
its shadow trailing on Earth in
warm sunlight.
Oh, watching a bird
flying high and free, is indeed
a delight.
Day 18 and a Triverse
It's a fun poetic form developed by William Carlos Williams.
Here are the triversen rules:Each stanza equals one sentence. Each sentence/stanza breaks into 3 lines (each line is a separate phrase in the sentence). There is a variable foot of 2-4 beats per line. The poem as a whole should add up to 18 lines (or 6 stanzas).
~Robert Lee Brewer on Poetic Asides (www.writersdigest.com)~
I took the liberty of making the phrases rhyme. (I have a fetish for rhymes).
