Assurance of Salvation (Introduction)

Satan tries to:
• Get you to doubt your salvation
• Cause you to wonder if you are really a Christian
• Tell you that because you don't feel any different than before (nothing supernatural happened), nothing really
happened.

Why does Satan do this?
So that then you might sin, might slip back into your old ways.
Satan is quick to sow the seeds of doubt by telling you Christians don't sin.
Don't let your self feel defeated! Don't give up, keep following the Christian Life.

Ephesian 4:31-32 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

The assurance of salvation prevents a crisis of confidence. Kinda like children – parent relationships, husband – wife relationships. God doesn't give up on us and we don't give up on him just because things get tough (we sin).

The purpose of this study is to teach you that by accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour, you are saved now and forever.

And you can know it for certain!

THIS IS AN IMPORTANT CONCEPT.

Without it, we tend tell feel defeated (since we all tend to sin), give up and just slip back into your old ways.
