(1 year later)
*Steve POV*
I've been out for a year now and we're still at the cabin. At the six month mark I was doing okay and Tony was afraid that the tower would ruin it so Peter and I agreed to just staying here at the cabin. We go and visit the others all the time and Bucky comes and sleeps here often. He and Sam got married a few months ago and I was so happy for him and Sam. They both went through a lot and deserved happiness. Happiness they find in each other. We haven't had many missions in the past year which I've been completely okay with but I'm sort of starting to miss it. Or maybe I'm missing something else. I don't know I guess my life sort of feels empty right now.

"Stevie" Tony says waving a hand in front of my face

"Yeah" I ask

"You okay" he asks

"I am. Sorry I sort of zoned out" I say

"You've been doing that a lot lately. What's going on in that head of yours" he asks

"I don't know. It's sort of in a daze." I say

"Yeah? Tell me more" he says

"I don't know how to explain it Tony. I'm here physically, emotionally, but not all mentally. I keep drifting off and thinking about how my life feels empty and incomplete. I mean I have you and Peter and I love you guys. I also have the others and I care about them deeply as well. I don't know what really is going on" I say

"Maybe you should talk with a therapist or something" he says

"I don't know Tony. I really don't want to. I don't think any of them will be able to understand what I'm going through. You all at least get me so I'm a bit more comfortable and okay talking to you guys" I say

"Well, if it ever comes to mind what is missing from your life please tell me" he requests

"Of course" I say

"Dad, Pops, are we going to the tower today" Peter yells

"Did you do your school work for today" I ask

"Yeah. I did it yesterday cause I didn't want to do any today" he says

"Are you wanting to go to the tower or go on a date with MJ" Tony asks

"I might've called Ned last night and told him I could hang out with him some today and then I also scheduled a date with MJ for tonight." Peter says

"Alright. Pack an overnight bag then. Well spend the night at the tower. You know what, let's just spend the whole weekend at the tower. It is Friday after all" I say

"Really? Thanks pops" Peter smiles

He runs off to his room and Tony just looks at me.

"What" I ask

"You're such a softy" he says

"No way. You're softer than I am" I say

"Yeah right" he says

"We could ask the others" I say

"We don't have to" he says

"That's what I thought" I smirk

"Go pack a bag" he says shoving me

"Uh you need to pack a bag to Stark" I say

"You aren't going to pack for me Capsicle" he asks

"Aren't you capable of packing your own" I ask

"But it makes more sense to just take one bag" he says

"Fine" I sigh

"Thanks sweetie. Love you" he says

"Love you too" I say

I grab a bag and pack some stuff for me and then go to Tony's dresser and grab some clothes for him.

"Do you want a suit" I ask

"I have mark 40 something at the tower" he says

"Not an iron man suit. A normal suit" I say

"Uh no. As long as you packed me something that is other than a T-shirt and junk jeans" he says

"Okay" I say

I finish putting some things in the bag and then set it by our bedroom door. I then go and sit back down on the bed next to Tony.

"Did we ever tell the others we're coming over today" I ask

"Probably not but who cares. Underoos you ready to go" Tony asks

"Yeah. Can you guys dropping me off at Neds before going to the tower" Peter asks

"Sure. Now let's go" I say

I grab our bags and we head out to the car. I put both bags in the trunk and then get in the passenger seat. Tony starts the car and heads towards the city. We go to Neds first and Peter gets out.

"Bye Pops and Dad. I'll let you know when I'm on my way home from hanging with MJ" Peter says

"Bye Pete. Be careful" I say

"Call us if you need anything Underoos" Tony says

Peter nods as he runs towards the door to Neds building. Once he's inside Tony drives off. As we're driving I look out the window and watch things pass by. A lot of things pass by but the stuff that catches my eyes are the families. They all look happy. They all look like their lives are complete.

"That's it" I mumble

"What is" Tony asks

"I know what I'm missing. What we're missing" I say

"What" he asks

"Another kid" I say

We stop at a red light and Tony looks at me. He has a look on his face but I don't know what it is. The light turns green and Tony starts driving again. We get to the tower and Tony turns the car off. However, neither of us get out. We just sit here in a semi-awkward silence.

"You want another kid" he asks

"Yeah. At least I think so. I kept looking outside the window in the car and all the families looked happy and complete. I think for all of us to be complete we need another kid. Pete's going to be going to college eventually" I say

"Wow. I mean you make some great points. Well everything besides the college thing. I don't think he'll go to college. He and I have been talking and he's going to work at the company and eventually take over for me" he says

"So is it a yes to another kid" I ask

"Yes. It's a yes. However let's talk to Peter about it and get his thoughts before we make anymore decisions" he says

"Okay" I smile

Tony leans in and I lean in as well. We quickly close the gap and kiss. However it only lasts a little bit because we are interrupted by a tap at the window. We pull apart and see Rhodey and Bucky outside the car.

"Can we go back to the cabin" Tony groans

"No. Now let's go" I say

Tony starts mumbling under his breath and I playfully glare at him. He sends me a small smile and I shake my head at him. I get out of the car and Bucky hugs me right away. I hug him back. Once we release from the hug I grab the two bags. I close the trunk and see that Tony is hugging Rhodey.

"Where's Bambi" Bucky asks

"He's with Ned and then going on a date with MJ" I say

"Pancake ditched us for them" Rhodey asks

"Don't worry Rhodes we're here for the weekend" Tony says

"Uh Uh. Not happening." Rhodey says

"Why not" Tony asks

"Well, I can deal with Steve and Pancake for a weekend but I'm done with putting up with you. I e put up with you enough" Rhodey says

"I hate you James" Tony says

"You have to stop saying James because we are both James" Bucky says

"Well, I think it works cause we're always having to yell at both of you" I say

"What have I done" Bucky asks

"You know what you've done" I say

"How is it that we both end up with best friends named James" Tony asks

"Fate" I shrug

"We should probably go inside" Rhodey says

"Who all is here" Tony asks

"Everyone but Thor. He went back to Asgard for something" Rhodey says

"Loki stayed" I ask

"Yeah. He likes it better here than in Asgard" Rhodey says

"Steve, Sam wants to talk with you" Bucky says

"Alright" I say

We go inside and get on the elevator.

"Welcome back to the tower Starks" FRIDAY says

"Thank you dear" Tony says

"Don't you have FRIDAY at your cabin too" Bucky asks

"Yeah. However they're two separate AIs. The one at the cabin is like FRIDAY 2.0" Tony says

"I don't see why we need an AI at the cabin" I say

"It's really for while I'm in the lab there." Tony says

"Okay" I say

We get to the main floor and step off the elevator. We go to the living room where everyone is sitting and watching tv.

"Took you all long enough to get in here" Nat says

"We were busy" Tony says

"Doing what" Clint asks

"Talking." I say

"Yeah okay. Talking" Clint says

"Clinton Francis Barton we were talking and that's it." I say

"Yo Steve let's go to the training room" Sam says

"Yeah ok" I say

We head to the elevator and Nat follows us. We all get on and it goes to the training floor. Once it stops we step off and go sit on a bench in there.

"Nat why did you come with" Sam asks

"Because" Nat says

"Nat I'm okay. I don't need my emotional support human" I joke

"But what if I need mine" she asks

"I thought Bucky was your emotional support human" Sam says

"No. He's just the jerk" I say

"And you're a punk" Bucky says walking in

"Buck I told you I wanted to talk to Steve alone" Sam says

"I know. I came to get Nat." Bucky says

"Steve" Nat whines

"Go Nat. I'll come find you when Sam and I are done talking" I say

"Fine. I'll be in what was your room"
She says

"Okay" I say

She and Bucky leave and Sam and I face each other.

"How is it going" Sam asks

"Woah, hold on. Is this a therapy session because if it is I'm going to stop you right now. You know I don't like those just sprung upon me" I say

"Yeah and I tell you that if they aren't sprung upon you then I don't get real answers" he says

"Fine whatever. Ask away" I say

"Have you had any nightmares" he asks

"A few" I say

"Does Tony know" he asks

"No. I usually wake up before it gets so bad that I wake him up" I say

"How many have you had" he asks

"Twenty" I say

"That's good. What are they about" he asks

"Once it was about Peggy. Most of the time it's about Bucky and then sometimes it's about Tony and Pete" I say

"Are the Bucky ones about him falling off the train" he asks

"Every once in a while. Mostly they're about him get captured by hydra again, brain washed, and I can't get him back this time" I say

"What about the Tony and Peter one" he asks

"Do we really have to do this Sam? I'm fine. Tony already asks me everyday how I am" I say

"And clearly you don't tell him the truth because he doesn't know about the nightmares and I'm sure you've had more than twenty. Going under helped with your self esteem and some of your past but you'll always remember things that are near and dear to you" he says

"How do you know" I ask

" Because Bucky has nightmares about you and me and he also went under for a while to clear away his memory of the past" he says

"Oh. I'm okay Sam. Really. If I have another nightmare I'll tell Tony and talk to him about it. I promise. Can I go and see what Nat needed now" I ask

"Yeah. It's great to have you here cap. We'll definitely have to go for our run tomorrow" he says

"Of course" I say

We bro hug and then we take the elevator to the main floor. I go to my old room while Sam joins the others in the living room. I get to the room and knock on the door. I hear Nat grant me entrance so I go in. I open the door and she's sitting on the bed so I go and sit next to her.

"What's going on Nat" I ask

"IthinkImightbeprgnant" she quickly says

"What was that" I ask

"I... um... I think I might be pregnant" she says

"What do you mean you think" I ask

"Well the past couple of mornings I've been feeling sick and I was just passing it off as a bug of some sort but then I didn't get my period when I was supposed to" she says

"Why are you talking to me about this and not Wanda or Clint or even Bruce" I ask

"Well Wanda and I are close but not close enough that I would share this with her. Clint would go to the extreme about it and Bruce would maybe freak out so I only want to tell him if I'm positive. You're like my older brother and that gay best friend in movies that girls confide in" she says

"Okay. Well, why don't we contact dr. Helen Cho and see if she'll take you in. She can do an ultra sound and see if you're pregnant or not" I say

"Yeah okay. Call her" she says

I nod and make the call. Dr. Cho said she could see us right away so we go out to the others and tell them we're going out to lunch with each other as our excuse. We go to Nat's car and get in. I start it up and drive to dr. Cho's office. We go in and once we say our name they take us back right away. A nurse comes in and does some stuff and then leaves. Shortly after Dr. cho walks in. She does some stuff and then moves on to the ultra sound. I see Nat get nervous so I grab her hand.

"Congratulations Miss Romanoff you are eight weeks pregnant" Dr. cho says

I thank the doctor and she walks out. I grab a chair and sit down in front of Nat.

"Are you okay" I ask

"What am I going to do Steve? I don't know how to raise a kid. Plus Banner is going to freak out. Hulk is going to freak out oh gosh." She rambled

"Nat you need to calm down. Take deep breaths in and let them out. You can't stress about this. It's not good for the baby. Everything will be okay. Bruce has a soft side. He might be afraid of the hulk because of how angry the hulk gets but the hulk also has a soft side. If the hulk didn't it wouldn't be able to turn back to banner" I say calmly

"You're right. Everything is going to be okay. Will you be there when I tell him" she asks

"Of course. Why don't we go and tell all of them right now" I say

"Yeah okay. See you are my emotional support human" she smirks

"There's the Nat we love so much" I smile

I miss the top of her head and then we head to the car. We get in and I drive back to the tower. We go inside and everyone is still in the living room.

"FRIDAY pause the tv" I say

The tv pauses and everyone looks at me and Nat. I look at Nat and she's nervous again. I put a hand on her shoulder and give her a reassuring smile.

"Everything okay Nat" Bruce asks

"Yeah. Actually everything is great" Nat smiles

"Then why do you look so shaken up" Clint asks

"Well, I haven't been feeling well and Steve and I just went to a doctors appointment and found out that I'm pregnant. Bruce and I are have a baby" Nat says

Everyone congratulates her and Bruce. She and I then look at Bruce and he's looking at the floor.

"Bruce, it is going to be okay. Your enemy is your ally in this. The softer side will show" I say

"I'm gonna be a dad" Bruce mumbles

A smile spreads on his face and he walks over. He hugs Nat and then they share a kiss. We then go and sit with everyone else. Clint unpauses the tv and everyone turns their attention back to it. Around 7 the elevator doors open and Peter walks in.

"Bambi! You're here! How dare you ditch me for your friends" Bucky cheers

"Sorry Uncle Bucky but I made promises to them last week." Peter says

"I forgive you" Bucky says

"Hey Baby spider" Nat says

"Yeah momma spider" Peter asks

"I'm going to be a real momma spider" Nat says

"You're pregnant? What? This is great! I won't be the youngest anymore" Peter smiles

"We'll still make fun of you Petey" Clint says

"And I can destroy your vent nests uncle Clint" Peter glares

"You wouldn't dare" Clint says

"Try me" Peter says

"Woah okay let's not do that. What should we do for dinner" I ask

"Ooh I could go for some of your cooking Steve" Wanda says

"Okay. What should I make" I ask

"Well we don't have much food in the fridge so whatever you can find" Rhodey says

I nod and head to the kitchen. As I'm working I hear footsteps so I turn around and see Tony and Peter.

"You two are so similar. I still don't understand how you two are not biologically related" I say

"We are not similar" they say

"Yes you are" Loki shouts

"No one asked you" they shout back

"You two are a handful and don't even argue it cause we all know it's true" I say

"You love us pops." Peter smiles

"I do Pete but you two are still a handful" I say

"Should we talk about you know" Tony asks

"The others are listening." I say

"We can ditch them all" Peter says

"Let's eat dinner first. It's almost ready" I say

"You three are being secretive. Spill it" Rhodey says

"What" Tony asks

"What was going on" Sam asks

"Vision stop spying on everyone. It's their business not yours" Tony says

"Sorry sir but it's an old habit" vision says

"Well get a new habit or I will place you in the cage" Tony says

"Anthony Edward Stark" I scold

"Sorry" Tony mumbles

"Whatever. Dinner is ready" I say

We all sit down at the table and start eating.

"When was the last time we had a family dinner" Wanda asks

"Too long. However it isn't complete" Rhodey says

"Yeah. My brother is not here" Loki says

"Think again my dear brother" Thor booms walking in from the balcony

"Uncle Thor! You're back! How's Asgard? Dad Pops can I please go see it" Peter asks

"Hello man of spiders. I am back. Asgard is doing well. The people are happy" Thor says

"Maybe we can go in a month or so" Tony says

"Thanks Dad. You're the best" Peter says

"We'll go only if Cap over there is okay with it. He is the boss after all" Tony says

"Ugh" Peter groans

I just laugh and the topic of conversation gets changed. We finish up dinner and while Wanda and Vision do the dishes Tony, Peter, and I go down to the lab.

"So what did you want to talk about" Peter asks

"Well, I know you're excited about Nat and Bruce having a baby, but what would you think about us adopting a baby as well" Tony asks

"Really? Wait how old? What gender? When?" Peter asks

"Slow down there Pete. So you're okay with it" I ask

"Of course. I've always dreamed of having a sibling." Peter smiles

"That's great to hear Underoos. We're wanted to adopt as soon as possible and we want someone who's very young." Tony says

"This is so cool. Ooh dad can I go on patrol" Peter asks

"I don't care but ask Capsicle" Tony says

"Can I pops? I'll be back by 1 and I won't handle anything that is bigger than me" Peter says

"Go ahead but be back by 12:30" I say

"Okay. Thank you." Peter says

He runs up the stairs and Tony and I just laugh. I lean into Tony and he wraps his arms around me.

"We should start looking" I say

"We have time Steve" he says

"But the sooner we start looking the sooner we can have one" I pout

"How about we wait a bit and then start looking next week" he says

"Fine" I give in

We head to the main floor and to our room. we get ready for bed and then get under the covers.

"What time is it" I ask

"It is 11:45" FRIDAY says

Tony goes to say something but his phone rings. He sees that it's Peter so puts it in speaker.

T-I got you on speaker Underoos
P-okay. I got a situation dad
S-please tell me you didn't get stabbed again
P-I didn't get stabbed again
T-what's the problem
P-I was swinging around Central Park when Karen registered something. I went and found a box. In the box was a baby
S-where are you now
P-I'm still at the park
T-we'll be there soon

We hang up and get dressed into some casual clothes and then head to the garage. We get in a car and head off. Looks like we might get a kid a lot sooner than we expected"Tony says

"We don't know what's going on" I say

"It's probably abandoned" Tony says

We arrive to the park and get out of the car. We head over to Peter and prepare ourselves for whatever we're going to have to deal with.
