(1 year later)
*Tony POV*
Today's the day. It's been a year since Steve went back under and today he comes out. For the past month Peter and I have been living in a cabin that the three of us will live in for six months. The year without Steve was hard at times but we all had each other and made it through. We are all happy to be getting our captain back though. He does so well in that role and none of us really knew how hard it was until we needed to do it. Now we can't really give him crap for all the choices he makes because they were probably the right ones. Peter, Nat, Bucky, Sam, and I are on our way to Wakanda right now. Shuri already started bringing him out of it so that hopefully by the time we get there he's almost out. We don't want him to be out before we get there though.

"What if pops is too far back that he doesn't want me anymore" peter asks

"That's not going to happen Underoos. He cares about you way too much. Plus it's not going to erase his memory. It's sort of just clearing his mind of the negativity" I say

"Yeah Bambi. When I went under and then came out I remembered Steve and our child hood. My mind was just wiped of all the mind control of hydra" Bucky says

"I guess" Peter says

"It's all going to be okay Underoos." I say

"We're here" Nat says

She lands the quinnjet and we all get off. T'Challa is there to greet us.

"Your highness. Thank you for doing this for us" I say

"You are welcome Mr. Stark. It was an honor to help the captain." T'Challa says

"You have done a lot for us" Bucky says

"Yes well I guess this is friendship" T'Challa says

"How far along is the process" Sam asks

"Shuri said it will be done in a few minutes. Let us go to the lab" T'Challa says

We all follow him to the lab and Peter grabs my hand.

"Everything is going to be okay bud" I say

"I know. I just want to be close to you" he says

I drop hands and wrap my arm around his shoulder bringing him closer to me. We get to the lab and Shuri is at a hologram tapping away.

"Hey Shuri how is it coming along" I ask

"It's almost done mr. Stark. Just five more minutes. He is out of it. The five minutes is the time that he'll wake up" Shuri says

"Okay. Thank you" I say

We wait around and talk for five minutes and then Shuri shows us where Steve is. When we get over there Steve is starting to wake up. I go over to him and Peter follows me.

"Hey steve" I whisper

"Tony" he mumbles

"Yeah Steve. You want to open your eyes" I ask

"It's bright" he says

"Brother turn the lights off" Shuri says

"Yes my princess" T'Challa says

T'Challa hits the lights and Steve opens his eyes.

"How are you" I ask

"I'm good" he says

"I missed you Mr. Stark" I say

"I missed you too Mr. Stark" he says

We share a kiss and then pull away after a few minutes.

"Hi pops" Peter says

"Hey Pete. are you okay" Steve asks

"I'm fine Pops. Stop being so selfless for once" Peter sighs

"Can't Pete. It's my job as your pops to care for you" Steve says

"Move it Starks. I want to see my Stevie" Bucky whines

Steve laughs and Bucky pushes us aside hugging Steve. Oh how I missed his laugh.

"Hi jerk" Steve says

"Punk" Bucky says

"Hey Tony and Sam has he done anything stupid" Steve asks

"Nope" we say

"They're lying" Nat says

"Thank you for the honesty Nat. Spill it Buck" Steve says

"Hey if you can become a super soldier while I'm away I can do stuff while you're away" Bucky mumbles

"You know what let's give these two love birds some alone time" I say

"He's my man Cap. You have your own" Sam yells

"Shut up Wilson" Steve says

"You ready to head home Steve or are you too busy in your bromance" Nat asks

"Shuri" Steve asks

"You are good to go captain" she says

"Thank you Shuri and T'Challa" Steve says

"Of course." T'Challa says

Steve gets off the bed and walks over to me. He grabs my hand and we say goodbye to Siri and T'Challa before heading out to the quinnjet. We get on and Nat sets the destination for home.

"So did you guys already get the house" Steve asks

"Yeah. We've been living in it forever a month. Bucky's been living with us too" I say

"Why" Steve asks

"Because he's been missing you and apparently Peter and Tony are more comforting than his own fiancé" Sam says

"Sam" Bucky yells

"Fiancé" Steve asks

"Yes?" Bucky questions

"Is this the stupid thing you did" Steve asks

"No" Bucky says

"When did you ask him Sam" Steve asks

"How do you know Sam asked" I ask

"Because I've known Bucky for many years" Steve says

"I asked him on his Birthday" Sam says

"Okay. Then what's the stupid thing you did" Steve asks

"He asked me to make him a new arm" I say

"Tony" Bucky scolds

"Sorry" I say

"Uncle Bucky was missing you and he kept saying how his stupid arm was a reminder of you going and being stupid so he had Thor rio his arm off. dad then found out and we made him a new and improved arm." Peter says

"Bambi I thought you were on my side" Bucky says

"Hey I got to invent. I liked it. You can do it again if you'd like" Peter smiles

"No. Bucky can only lose an arm so many times" Steve says

"Just don't leave me then" Bucky says

"You came up with the idea" Steve says

"And I didn't like it but knew you needed it. Two weeks into it Sam had to take my phone away to keep me from calling Shuri and having her pull you out" Bucky says

"Rhodey had to do the same to Tony" Nat says

"I made it three weeks" I say

"Lies. You barely lasted a whole day" Peter says

"You have no room to talk Underoos" I say

"Don't talk to my Pete that way" Steve says wrapping his arms around Peter

"It's okay pops. I only lasted like 10 minutes" Peter says

"Sadly that doesn't surprise me. Sorry that I left you Pete" Steve says

"It's okay pops. It was time that other people looked out for youinstead of you always looking out for us" Peter says

"However we are so glad you are back. None of us lasted long as the captain of the team. I think the longest someone lasted was three weeks and that person was Loki because he would just mind control people if they weren't listening" Nat says

"I really thought Bucky would take over" Steve says

"He last two weeks" Sam says

"Who lasted the shortest" Steve asks

"Nat and Tony tied for an hour. We didn't even let Thor lead" Bucky says

"They actually lasted an hour" Steve asks

"Hey" I pout

"Sorry. I love you" Steve says

"Love you too. Give me a kiss and I'll count us even" I say

"Well I guess we aren't even" Steve shrugs

"We're almost back" Nat says

"Where are we landing at" Steve asks

"I made a helipad near the cabin. We are landing there then the others are heading back to the tower" I say

"Do we have to" Bucky whines

"Yes." I say

"Stevie let me stay" Bucky says

"Sorry Bucks. I have no say in this. I promise you and I will spend plenty of time together" Steve says

"fine" Bucky grumbles

The quinnjet lands and we all get off. We walk through the woods some and then come to another clearing where the cabin is.

"Was this already here or did you build it" Steve asks

"What do you think" I ask

"I think you were being you and had a hologram blue print made and then sent it to Pepper to find someone to build it for you but you also had drones there to keep an eye on the process from time to time" Steve says

"Wow. Gone for a year and he still remembers how high maintenance you are" Nat says

"I am not high maintenance" I say

"Yes you are." Sam says

"Watch it dodo bird. I can break your wings and not make you new ones" I say

"Tony be nice or you're sleeping in your own room" Steve says

"Your threats are always empty pops" Peter says

"Not always Pete." Steve says

"Alright well let's stop standing outside and actually go in. You three may leave now" I say

"Alright. Steve do you want to go on morning runs still? I can come over here to run with you" Sam asks

"Sure. We can start in two days" Steve says

Bucky goes over and hugs Steve and Steve hugs him back.

"Buck you need to let go" Steve says

"No" Bucky says

"I'm okay Buck. If I get any nightmares or have trouble sleeping I'll call you. I'm going to be okay Buck. I'm not little Steve" Steve says

"To me you'll always be little Steve." Bucky mumbles

"C'mon Bucky. Tony will be here with him and so will Peter." Sam says

"Okay" Bucky sighs

Bucky let's go of Steve and he goes to Sam. Nat then goes over Steve and hugs him. They whisper some things to each other and then he kisses the top of her head. She goes over to Sam and Bucky too. We say our last goodbyes and they walk back towards the quinnjet. We then go inside.

"Alright what should we do" I ask

"I have to do homework" Peter says

"Are the three of you still being homeschooled" Steve asks

"Sort of. We're doing cyber school" Peter says

He goes upstairs and Steve and I sit in the couch.

"What was it like" I ask

"What was what like" Steve asks

"Being back under." I say

"I don't know. It was peaceful. Dark. I don't really know if I dreamt at all while I was under I just know what was going on before I went under. Last time I went under I missed a date. This time when I went under I sort of ruined our honeymoon" he says

"You didn't ruin it babe. I'm just happy that we're back together again." I say

"I'm sorry I left you alone" he says tears ready to spill

"You didn't leave me alone Steve. I had Peter and the others. You spend so much time caring about others. Especially me that it was my turn to take care of you. We all have been abandoned and have found through life one for some time. That's why we all make a great family. We give each other that sense of fulfillment, togetherness, and family that we were all missing" I say

"I love you so much Anthony Edward Stark. D*** ** you're making me cry. You know I hate crying" he says

"I love you too Steven Grant Stark. I know you hate showing emotion, but I love it. It means that I can bring out a side of you that you hide from everyone else. It shows that you love me and trust me enough to show me all of you" I say whispering to the end

"Gosh I missed you" he says

"I missed you too" I say

We both start leaning in and I close the space between us letting my lips connect with his in a sweet and passionate kiss. It lasts for quite some time until we pull apart for air.

"Can we just go to bed early? I haven't had a great night sleep since our wedding because you haven't been by my side" I say

"Of course. Let's go say goodnight to Pete first" he says

"Alright" I say

We go upstairs and I lead the way to Peter's room. I knock on the door but there isn't an answer. I open the door and he's not in there. We then go to our room and Peter's asleep in our bed.

"He's such a bed stealer" I say

"It's okay Tony. He was probably hoping to sleep near me because he missed me and needed the comfort of his pops" he says

"But I need your comfort" I whine

"I'll just sleep in the middle" he says

"Fine" I give in

We get ready for bed and then get under the covers. As soon as we lay down Peter wraps his arms around one of Steve's arms so I wrap my arms around his other arm.

"Goodnight Steven" I say

"Goodnight Anthony" he says

We share a quick kiss and then I drift off to sleep wrapped in my husbands arms once again.
