(The next day)
*Bucky POV*
I wake up in the morning with Sam's arms wrapped around me. I carefully get out from them without waking him up and leave the room. I go to a living room area and T'Challa is there.

"Hey did you see Steve, Tony, or Peter last night after cutting the cake" I ask

"No I did not" he says

"Okay. I couldn't really find Steve last night but I also couldn't focus on it because Sam was distracting me. Maybe I'll go check with the teens and see if Peter is with them" I say

"Good luck." T'Challa says

"Why" I ask

"You never know what they'll be doing. You hope it's sleeping but it probably isn't" T'Challa says

I nod my head and walk off. I go to where the teens should be sleeping but they aren't there. I walk to Shuri's lab and only Ned is there.

"Ned where's MJ and Shuri" I ask

"They went looking for Peter" he says

"Where did they go looking" I ask

"Not sure sir. They left last night before bed and haven't come back. They told me to wait here in case Peter shows up." Ned says

"Okay. Call MJ please" I say

"Yes sir" Ned says

Ned pulls out his phone and does some stuff.

M-what do you want Ned
B-I needed to talk to you
M-mr. Barnes what can I do for you
B-where are you and Shuri at
M-we're looking around outside for Peter. We haven't found him yet
B-when was the last time you saw him
M-he was heading to his parents room last night before they cut the cake
B-okay. Come back here. I'm going to check and see if Tony and Steve are here. If not I think I know how to find Peter
M-okay. Let's go Shuri!
Ned hangs up the phone and I go to Steve and Tony's room. I knock and there's no answer. I knock once more and when there's no answer I open the door. I look around and they are gone along with their bags. I close the door and then go back to Shuri's lab. MJ and her arrive just as I do.

"Okay Steve and Tony also aren't here." I say

"I know where they are" Ned says

"How long have you known" MJ asks

"Since last night" Ned says

"Why didn't you tell us" Shuri says

"Every time I went to say something you two would shut me up. So I figured you didn't want to know" Ned says

"My question is why didn't you tell one of us that Peter was missing" I say

"Wait so Ned where is he? How did you find him" MJ asks

"I tracked his phone duh. He is in New York along with Mr. Stark and Captain America. I tracked their phones as well when mr. Barnes walked away" Ned says

"Are they okay" I ask

"Yeah. They're at the tower" Ned shrugs

"Oh I am going to kill all three of them" I say

"You can have Peter after I'm done with him" MJ says

"Did you all find them" T'Challa asks walking in

"Brother no open toe shoes in the lab" Shuri says

"Do I ever listen to you" he asks

"Most of the time when it comes to your safety" she says

"We found them. They went back to New York" I say

"Who went to New York" Natasha asks

"Tony, Steve, and Peter" I say

"Why" she asks

"We don't know. They left last night. I only know they're there because Ned tracked them" I say

"They're moving" Ned says

"Where too" Nat asks

"Not sure. It seems as if they are walking though" Ned says

"Bucky where are you" I hear Sam yell

"In here Sam. Stop yelling" I call out

Sam walks in and comes over to me. He wraps his arms around me and rests his head on my shoulder.

"What are you all doing in here? And if it's a party that I wasn't invited to you are in trouble" Sam says

"It wasn't a party. We have been looking for the lovebirds and Peter." I say

"Aren't they here" Sam asks

"No. They went to New York last night." I say

"Why did a Quinnjet just arrive empty" Okoye asks coming in the lab

"That would be because the three who left sent it back to take us home when we are ready to leave" Nat says

"Where the heck is Anthony. I need to go over some business stuff with him" pepper says

"He's gone" Sam says

"What" happy asks

"He's not gone gone. He went back to New York with Steve and Peter. Gosh how many times are we going to have to explain this" Sam says

"Apparently a lot. Especially since not everyone is in here yet. Ned have they stopped yet" I ask

"Yeah. They're at a cemetery" Ned says

"They must have gone to see Aunt Mays grave" Pepper says

"What about Aunt May? And has anyone seen Tony, Steve, or pancake" Rhodey asks

"We haven't physically seen them but we know where they are" Ned says

"Oh my gosh there are so many people in my lab. Brother is breakfast ready" Shuri asks

"I'm sure it is" T'Challa says

"Great. Let's eat and talk" Shuri says

We all walk out of the lab and go to the dining hall. We get there and everyone who wasn't in the lab is at the table.

"Where's my mini Stark" Loki asks

"Brother he is not yours to have. He belongs to man of iron and the captain" Thor says

"I know. But he is still mine" Loki says

"They're in New York" MJ says

"Then let's go" Loki says

"No. Sit down. We are staying here and eating breakfast and then we can leave. They are visiting Aunt May's grave. We need to let them do that alone" pepper says

"Man of spiders and Captain have seemed upset. Shouldn't Captain be happy because him and man of iron got married" Thor says

"Bug has been missing his aunt a lot lately. Captain has been dealing with nightmares and missing the 40s" Wanda says

"I don't think he's missing the 40s. The only things he really loved from the 40s were me and Peggy. I'm here and Peggy is resting peacefully." I say

"Bucky you have also been having nightmares" Wanda says

"Buck" Sam looks at me concerned

"I'm fine Sam" I say

"Hopefully Peter getting some time with them alone at the cemetery will be good for him and then Steve and Tony's mini staycation alone will be good for the two of them" Rhodey says

"Yeah. They all need it. And when Tony and Steve are gone we will keep Baby Spider occupied" Nat says

"Yeah. You'll have to cause he's not allowed to see us" MJ says

"Why" Sam asks

"He got grounded. No seeing me or MJ while his dads are away and no video games either. Nor patrol I think" Ned says

"What did he do" Vision asks

"I think it is because of what all the kids were doing" Loki says

"Shuri" T'Challa glares

"What? Peter said something about wanting to experiment on Loki and Thor and how they were up for it. I asked what type of experiment and then got that tingly feeling anytime I get to be in my lab. Next thing I know we're poking and prodding" Shuri says

"Shuri no lab for two weeks unless it is to save my life. I will have it in lockdown and guarded by two people until the time is up" T'Challa says

"That is not fair brother" Shuri says

"It actually is. If Peter is grounded so are you. Mother would agree with me" T'Challa says

"Ned have they moved at all" pepper asks

"They are now at a Thai restaurant Miss Potts" Ned says

"Thank you Ned. Well King T'Challa thank you for having us but we must be going. Everyone go pack up and then meet on the quinnjet in ten minutes" pepper says

We leave the table and I head to my room. I put my stuff in my bag and then look for T'Challa. I find him in Shuri's lab talking to two guards.

"I want to thank you for letting us stay here" I say

"Of course Bucky Barnes" T'Challa says

"I also want to say sorry for your father" I say

"It is not your fault. I should be the one apologizing. You were set up" T'Challa says

"Yeah. Well I better get to the quinnjet before they leave without me" I say

"Would they do that" T'Challa asks

"Well Steve, Peter, and Tony left without us" I say

"You make a good point" he says

We shake hands and then I go to the quinnjet. I get on there and I'm actually the first one. A few minutes later and the rest start to show up. Once everyone is on Clint and Nat go to the front and start us home. I go to the back and lay down on one of the couches. Not too long after Sam comes back and sits by my feet.

"You okay there super soldier" he asks

"Yeah. Why wouldn't I" I ask

"You seem off Bucky. More than usual" he says

"I'm okay Sam. Really" I say

"What about your nightmares" he asks

"When I'm with you they're nonexistent" I say

"What are they about usually" he asks

"Me as the winter soldier. Under hydras control. Usually killing Steve or hurting him badly. Sometimes it's me as winter soldier and Steve before the serum and I'm killing him. Those are the worse ones" I say

"I'm sorry" Sam says

"It's okay. I usually just ask Friday if Steve is okay when I wake up from those nightmares to reassure myself that it really was only a nightmare. It's another reason why I'm so overprotective of Steve. I knew him when he was small and needed someone to look out for him. I feel as if it is still my job" I say

"Yeah but who looks out for you" he asks

"Steve looks out for me. Always has and always will. I also have you now. I have your back and you have mind" I say

He goes to say something but my phone rings. I look at the caller ID and see that it's Steve. Sam gets up and walks away.

B-hello
S-hi Buck
B-what's wrong Steve
S-why do you think somethings wrong
B-that's really the only reason why you ever call me
S-are you all on your way back
B-yeah. What time is it there
S-early morning
B-more specific
S-3am
B-how long have you been awake for
S-a few hours
B-are Tony and Bambi still asleep
S-yeah. Buck I don't know if I can go on this honeymoon.
B-why not Steve
S-bad things happen to the people I care about when I can't be there to protect them
B-Steve you guys won't be that far. If anything happens Tony can use his suit to fly you both back
S-I don't know Buck
B-your nightmares are back 10x worse aren't they
S-I barely sleep Buck. I really can't do this anymore
B-Steve, we're going to be back in an hour. When we get back I'm going to talk to Tony and then you and I are going to talk some. Then you are going to go on your honeymoon with Tony and have a good time
S-okay
B-go eat something punk
S-alright jerk

I hang up and out my phone in my pocket. I then go and sit with everyone else.

"Bucky, who do you think would win, Sam or Rhodey" Clint asks

"Win what" I ask

"Anything" Sam says

"It depends on what it is" I say

"I tried to tell them that" MJ says

"I think neither of them would win" Ned says

"Why" Rhodey asks

"Well actually, Sam might be more competitive so he would probably win most things." Ned says

"Whatever" Rhodey says

"Look alive losers we're here" Nat calls out

"Be quiet when you all go in. Tony and Peter are still asleep. MJ and Ned do you need us to take you home" I ask

"We can take the subway" MJ says

"Clint and Sam will take you two home" I say

"Okay" MJ says

The quinnjet lands and we get off. We go inside and everyone goes their separate ways. I go to what was Steve's room and knock on the door. A second later he opens the door. I go in and close the door behind me.

"How did you know I was gonna be in here" he asks

"I know you Steve. You might not be an open book to the others but to me you are." I say

"Sorry we left without telling you all" he says

"It's okay. Ned tracked you guys. He's pretty good with all the technology stuff of these days" I say

"He's a teenager Buck. Of course he is" Steve says

"Why don't you ever come and talk to me or Sam about your nightmares" I ask

"I'm supposed to be the leader" he says

"That's a bunch of crap" I say

"Buck I'm supposed to lead everyone. How am I supposed to lead everyone if other people are having to deal with my problems" he says

"How are you going to lead if you are half asleep because nightmares are keeping you up" I say

"I've slept enough" he says

"70 years frozen in ice is not the sleep you need" I say

"Bucky, Tony wants to go on this trip so bad and I want to be able to do it but I can't. I can't convince myself it's going to be okay" he says

"Are Tony and Peter in your guys' room" I ask

"Last time I checked." He says

"FRIDAY where is Tony" I ask

"Mr. Stark is in his lab" she says

"I'm going to go and talk with Tony. Go for a run or something and try to clear your mind" I say

"Okay" he says

"Everything will be alright Steve" I say

"Okay" he says

I walk out of the room and go to the elevator. I take it down to the lab and press on my code and the doors open.

"Stark" I say

"Barnes, what can I do for you" Tony asks

"We need to talk" I say

"About what" he asks

"Steve" I say

Tony stops what he's doing and looks at me. He sits down on a stool and I go sit on the other one.

"Is he okay" Tony asks

"Not really. He's struggling a lot Tony. More than usual. Normally I can talk him down off the ledge but it's not working to well. I think the nightmares are getting stronger. He's not wanting to go on your guys honeymoon anymore because he's worried something will happen to me. He loves you and Peter, but I am the only thing he has left from the forties and without me nearby he feels alone. He lost me so many times and he's scared to lose me again. He's not getting enough sleep and it's not healthy for anyone let alone a super soldier" I say

Tony sighs and runs his hand over his face.

"I've been noticing the same thing. I'm getting really worried about him too. We finally got Peter off the ledge of feeling alone and reminded him that we are his family now and not a single one of us will abandon him. Steve is going to be harder to convince because of everything he's seen and gone through for so many years" Tony says

"I really hate to say this but he sort of needs to reset his mind." I say

"What are you suggesting" Tony asks

"Put him under the ice again. I really don't want to do it but I think he needs it. He'd hate me for it but it would be for his own good. He wants to get away from everything anyways. We would only do it for a few year or two" I say

"I don't like it but I think it's the best solution to it all. Where is he right now" Tony asks

"Out for a run I believe" I say

"FRIDAY is Peter still asleep" Tony asks

"Yes he is boss. Captains Rogers is in the training room" She says

"FRIDAY please call all of the Avengers down toy lab besides Steve and Peter. Make sure they do not know a meeting is happening" Tony says

"Of course sir" she says

Ten minutes go by and everyone is down in the lab. Pepper and Happy are also down here.

"What are you two doing here" Tony asks

"We were talking with Rhodey when FRIDAY said something about meeting in the lab. I wanted to make sure you were okay" Pepper says

"I'm fine. You two can go" Tony says

They leave and the others just look at us.

"What's going on? Where's cap" Nat asks

"He's in the training room. This meeting is about him" I say

"Is this about how off he has been" Vision asks

"Yeah. We have an idea to help him but it's not ideal and we want your thoughts" I say

"What is it" Bruce asks

"Capsicle has been struggling a lot with nightmares, sleeping, and being healthy mentally. There's been so many times where he's just wanted to end it all and be six feet under" Tony says

"I think the best way to help him right now is to put him back under the ice for a year or two. It will clear his mind and we can do some things here to help him more when he comes back to" I say

"Isn't the ice one of his nightmares" Sam asks

"It is" I sigh

"He wouldn't want to go back under" Wanda says

"What other option do we have" I ask

"Therapy" Nat says

"He barely talks to Bucky and Sam and they're his closest friends and can relate to him" Tony says

"I think it's a good idea, but who would fill in the spot of Captain while he is under" Rhodey asks

"Probably Sam or I" I say

"It would be Bucky." Tony says

"Clint do you have anything to add" I ask

"Honestly, I think you put him under for a year. After the year him, Tony, and Peter should live away from the city and chaos for six months or so to readjust a bit to life without everyone around. After the six months we assess where he is mentally and take steps from there." Clint says

"I think it's a very reasonable and very good idea" I say

"Okay, so Bucky and I will go and talk to Steve and Peter about this and then we will find a way to get this to happen" Tony says

"We could do it at Wakanda. That's where Steve had me go under for a bit before I was transferred to SHIELD." I say

"Okay. That's what we'll do. Nat or Bruce could you reach out to them" Tony asks

"Yeah. Sam you should go with Tony and Bucky to talk with Steve. Loki and Thor be there for Peter. I know you two are his favorites besides Tony, Steve, and Bucky" Bruce says

"Of course" Loki says

We all go our separate ways to talk to who we need to.
