Chloe looked back at marcus, he was laying on the ground but still breathing. Chloe looked back at the door, I held it open waiting for her to join me. She told me to wait there and ran back for marcus. I shouted at her to come on to leave him and escape But she said he helped us and risked his life for us, she couldn’t. She heaved him off the ground and slung his arm over her shoulder. He was stabbed with a scalpel in his abdomen. She didn’t have time to take it out now, so she left it. Together they hobbled to the exit.

     I angrily released the door and walked over to help her muttering curses under my breath. I saw the white flash of a lab coat in the corner of my eye. I let out a scream as I was grabbed by one last doctor.

        He pressed a scalpel to my throat. Her left hand moving up and down in a faint glow, I could see a scalpel in her hand. She was screaming with rage as she stabbed the doctor over and over again before the doctor could stab me. I could hear her sobs over the sound of the blade ripping into his body again and again and again. I got up and grabbed her hand midair before it could plunge into the doctor’s eye.

      I told her he’s dead and that it’s time to go and She dropped the blade. I helped her up. Her face was covered with blood and tears but she was otherwise ok...physically at least.  Marcus was miraculously still alive. Together we helped him up and hobbled to the exit. Without looking back we walked out into the sunlight, into the start of a new day.
