«Chapter Eighteen»

"So their friend is still in the hospital." A cloaked figure said as a murderous grin formed on their face. "Perfect."

Lily's POV

"Guys, I think someone's following us!" I whispered, panicked.

"No one's there. You've said the same thing fifteen times in ten minutes and every time we've checked no one has been behind us." Ivy whispered back, annoyed.

"Fine. I'll stop being so paranoid." I said and stared ahead of me.

I heard footsteps behind me, but when I turned around no one was there.

"Hi, we're here to see Sigherra Evile?" Ein said at the check in counter.

"She's in room 403." The lady said and we went to the elevator.

"Room 403. That's floor four, room three." Travis said.

Once the elevator closed, calm music started to play.

"Well, this is definitely a break from everything we've been going through." Sasha said with a small smile.

"Maybe Cameron decided to move on to some other place? Maybe he's decided to leave us alone? Shouldn't he have attacked by now if he was planning something?" Zane asked.

"Let's just stay positive!" Ivy said enthusiastically. "Geez, now I'm starting to sound like Nana." She joked.

"My name's Ivy, I used to have a crush on Groth!" Nana joked, but everything went silent.

Too silent.

Even the music was gone.

"Did anyone else notice that?" I asked and they nodded.

"The music stopped." Aaron muttered, looking around.

"The elevator stopped too!" Sasha said, panicked.

She started to breathe quickly while her eyes darted around the enclosed space.

"Sasha, breathe." Zenix said in a low voice before whispering something to her.

"Right. Stay calm. Stay positive. Block out everything except your voice." Sasha said as an answer to something he had said.

After a few minutes, Sasha was back to normal and looked a bit embarrassed. "Sorry, guys. I'm just a bit claustrophobic." She whispered, her cheeks pink from embarrassment.

"This isn't the Sasha I know." Ivy joked and that lightened the mood.

Things went quiet again when there was a soft creak and the elevator lights went out.

"Guys, I think-" I was saying but screamed when the elevator started going down quickly.

"We're gonna die!" Nana wailed, holding on to Zane.

"Shut up!" Sky yelled and everyone went quiet as the elevator sped down. "We are NOT going to die! It's just a malfunction. We'll be fine!"

But I could see that she was scared. Even in the darkness I could see her trembling as she stood close to Ein.

???'s POV

"If that doesn't kill them, I know what will." I chuckled as I shut off the power in the hospital and made sure the elevator would malfunction and fall.

I made my way to Sigherra's hospital room calmly, acting as though I were a visiting relative.

My phone started to ring so I took it out of my pocket and answered it.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Tell me you didn't do anything to her! Tell me she's still alive!" Zach practically yelled, fear in his voice.

"Oh, Aphmau? Sylvanna? I killed them." I said calmly.

"No. NO. NO!" He shouted. "This can't be happening! They can't be dead!"

"Oh, stop with the boo-hooing. You abandoned them anyway. I never thought you'd play innocent." I said.

"At least I cared about my family! But you killed them!" Zach said in a dangerously low voice.

"And?" I asked, losing interest.

"You never gave me a chance to tell Sylvanna I was sorry for abandoning her all those years ago. She died with hatred in her heart!" Zach said and I yawned, hanging up.

"Such a cry baby. I was doing them a favour." I snickered as I entered Sigherra's hospital room.

There was wires hooked up to her, including a tube that was putting blood into her so she would stay alive.

I took a bag out of my jacket and looked at it. "Not yet. I have to wait until I know for sure the rest of them are dead."

I put a small amount of the liquid in the bag into the tube that was putting blood in her and walked out of the room, smiling as the poison entered through the blood.

Sky's POV

"Guys, maybe we can get out through the top of the elevator." I said and Ein took out his phone, shining light on the ceiling.

"How? There's no way out." Zenix said

"There's always one ceiling tile that's loose in case the elevator breaks down so that the people can get out. We'll have to be extremely careful, though." I said and Sasha started pushing on the ceiling tiles until one of them moved.

"Aaron, since you're taller than the rest of us, push the tile onto the top of the elevator then climb up so you can help us up." I said and he nodded.

Aaron did as I said and helped Ivy up first since she was in a wheelchair, then everyone else.

"Someone's going to have to carry Ivy since she can't walk." Lily pointed out once everyone was in top of the elevator.

"I'll do it." Aaron said, hoisting Ivy into his back as she wrapped her arms around his neck so she wouldn't fall.

"There's a ladder over there," I said. "We just have to climb to the top and there should be a way out."

We started climbing the ladder with Aaron going first and me going last.

"What's that sound?" Sasha asked.

"It's just the other elevators." Ein replied.

Luckily, there was a way out at the top so we didn't climb up here for nothing.

"This was all Cameron's doing, I know it!" Ivy said.

"Let's just hurry to see Sigherra." I said and the others nodded in agreement.

We eventually got to her room, only to see doctors surrounding her with panicked faces.

"Her vital signs are dropping!" A nurse said.

"We need to stabilize her immediately!" A doctor replied, hurrying to do everything they could to help her.

"Excuse me, doctors. What's going on?" Aaron asked as he set Ivy down outside the room.

"We don't know what's happening, kid. One minute she's fine, the next thing we know, her vital signs are dropping.

"Oh, there you guys are! I thought you'd left without me!" A familiar voice said and I spun around, looking directly at none other than Cameron Murder.

"Cameron." I hissed.

"I'm sorry, do I know you?" He asked.

I was suddenly quiet. I can't tell him it's me, the person he used to work with. If I did, who knows what would happen.

"Um.. my name is Sky. I'm Ein's cousin." I said.

"Oh! I heard that his twin sister died. It's a shame, really." He said.

"Only because you killed her." I said and he pretended to be shocked.

"Me? Why would you think that I would do such a thing?" He asked, but I knew that he was only acting this way because there were doctors around.

"Hey, kid. You look a lot like Cameron Murder. Are you related to him? If you are, I feel bad for you. That guy is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of students at Phoenix Drop High." A doctor said.

"Actually, I am him." Cameron chuckled as he stopped pretending to be an innocent person.

"You are such an idiot. Why feign innocence when you're going to tell everyone who you are anyway?" I asked with a scoff and he looked surprised.

"You're starting to sound like my old partner." He said.

"Lo- erm.. Sky. We should get security." Ein said and Ivy looked at me curiously from where she sat.

"I knew it! You're Lola!" Ivy whispered. "You look a lot like her, you act a lot like her, you fought Cameron with a knife and lost. Lola fought Cameron with a knife and lost, but she died. And there's also the fact that Ein doesn't have a cousin named Sky."

"Um... shouldn't you be more focused on the fact that we're with a murderer?" I asked.

"Oh, right. I forgot he was here." She laughed a little bit, but shut up when Cameron pulled out a pistol and pointed it at the doctor.

"Do you want to know why your friend over there is dying?" Cameron asked. "It's because of poison running through her blood. Wanna know something cool? It has no cure."

So that means...

She's going to die...

A/N: Sorry for the short, horrible chapter. As stated in the previous chapter, it's been hard to come up with ideas for chapters as of lately.
