Epilogue extended

Hey lovelies.. hope you all are doing well.. it's been long since I promised to share with you ppl the true incidents that I've used here in my fiction... so here I go..

1. Dowhill, the place that I said about in the fiction does really exist.. and it is regarded as one of the most scariest places in the world with its ranking amongst the first 30 in the world, and among top 10 in India.. I've never been exactly to the same place, but yeah my colleague had been there.. and she said it's really spooky... though she didn't see any unusual being, but she felt the air heavy and unusually cool...
Localities believe that a headless spirit haunt the entire area... many of them claim to have seen that headless apparition amongst the woods.  Some taxi drivers here still don't carry passengers to dowhill..

2. Victoria Boys School formerly called Dowhill school is also believed to be haunted.. alleged  sounds of children are being heard during vacations from inside the school campus.
I would like to share one incident here.. during my school days, my bio teacher used to be one of my fav.. Arup Sir (I've changed his name here) later left our school to join victor boys school as a senior bio teacher.. I lost contact with him until I joined my job...
It was then when I asked him about the alleged supernatural activities there.. to my surprise,  he avoided the topic telling to drop that and forget about supernatural things...
His words didn't match his actions..
I dunno what did he hide.. but I'm sure he did hide some facts..

3. Teesta river, I really dunno if its haunted or something uncanny of exists in its bed.. But accidents are very common on it... each and every year... deaths are evident..
This year, just before 2 weeks one innova carrying 3 tourists from Rajasthan along with the driver tripped into the river.. according to the passers by, the car vanished within minutes after it plunged into the river... such a pathetic incident.. corpse of one tourist was found three days later at place miles away from the accident spot..
The other two along with the driver and the car still missing..
NDRF jawans couldn't help in the situation much, though they tried hard..  experts from Navy along with experienced divers and improved machines have been brought from Visakhapatnam... But experts couldn't help till today...

Intense underwater currents, turbulent water  and quicksand on its banks and bed make the river all the more frightening, says geoscientists..

My mother's great grand mother said something about the river which is unbelievable.. her words are carried in the form of a story through generations.. it says, the river used to make a typical conch shell type sound every monsoons..  the sound was weird and alien type.. she herself had heard the river calling.. the sound stayed for days, even weeks.. and within days of the river call, deaths were very evident on the river... specially death of young males.
People those days assumed that it's the rivers hunger for life that made it call.. and everyone used to be extra cautious,  staying at homes when the river started calling..  but of no use...
Incidents like a boy who slept peacefully at night were found missing from home next early morning.. their dead bodies were found floating on water sometimes,  sometimes no trace at all..
No one knows what made those boys get out from home at night and walk to the river!

4. Morgan House is a lodge in Kalimpong Subdivision.. as the name indicates,  it was British made... it is considered to be haunted and have been enlisted among the haunted hotels..
I dunno much about it... I've just used the name..

5. Rosy Thapa, the name is my imaginary... but the incident is true.. and of Dowhill itself. I've a habit of reading travelogues.. this incident was described by one of the traveller and was claimed to be true and his self experienced.. even the incident that Raina experienced while heading towards Downhill  are true as per that travelogue series i.e. the writer experienced that himself..
the writer used his pseudo name in the travelogue.
His experience had a lasting impact on my mind.. He was so exceptionally well in describing the incident that I felt I was living the incident...
I used his experience in my fiction..  I couldn't give him credits as I don't know what originally his name is..

6. The bite marks.. true again... experienced by  my colleague (incidentally the same one who visited dowhill few months back).
She is from a small town called Jaigaon, near Bhutan border... there, the students required to stay in Siliguri to appear for the board exams (at present Jaigaon has exam facilities).
She, along with 25/30 other students and 2 school teacher had come to Siliguri for appearing  in 10th board exams (around 2004-05). They stayed in a hostel type lodge at the outskirts of Siliguri... she said, every room there had a bunch of garlic hung at the door or any window.
Her room mate one morning found those kinda spots on her calf muscles..  she also felt restless the night before...  first time both of them didn't pay much heed.. but when the incident repeated itself with new fresh bite marks, they called for help to the owner... the owner said that those were the bite marks of some evil spirit (chudail) and he changed the bunch of garlic hung on their room.. and finally those incidents didn't reoccur..
It was on the last day on the bus while they were returning,  one of their teachers said that he experienced something same.. he had about 8 similar spots on his back!

7. The eye floating on water... this real incident was experienced by my mother... she was about 8 yrs old then..  my grandpa was an officer in the Forest Department  and  they stayed at Coochbehar (a town in north Bengal) in the forest bungalows allotted to officers..
As my mom's version, it was probably a Sunday... afternoon... my mom suddenly felt the urge to use the washroom and went inside it..  the washroom that she was in was about few meters from the main house.. there inside she suddenly  saw a pair of floating eyes on the bucket of water just in front.. the iris coloured bluish grey, similar to caucasians... at first she thought it to be a mistake.. rubbing her eyes she looked again... and same... a pair of eyes from the bucket staring towards her..  she was so frightened  that she froze at that moment... she doesn't remember how long she stayed like that.. suddenly  the sound of a helicopter landing (there was a small military helipad very close) brought her out of her reviver... she instantly washed herself using the same bucket water and ran out... she shouted  intimated grand pa, grand ma and all elders.. they checked inside to find nothing..
Everyone said that she might had mistaken.... but she was sure that she had seen those pair of eyes..

It was few days after that incident, during the fall's, a rickshaw puller witnessed something spooky.. there was a deserted auction hall (British made, where the Britishers used to call for auction of the indigo dye cultivated nearby) at some distance close (visible from each bungalow in the cluster).

As far as I heard from my mom,  someone had come to one adjacent bungalow for some work... he asked the rickshaw puller to wait as he would return again. In the mean time it started raining and to escape rains the puller went under the shade of the auction  hall..
Suddenly a loud yelling sound was heard and everyone went out to find the puller unconscious outside the auction  hall gate...
The puller was carried back, and brought to senses... he was asked what had happened...
The puller said  that to escape rains he went to the auction hall... sudden sounds from inside the hall made him curious and he went inside... there he saw a lady dancing... and a foreigner  dressed like a king  was sitting in front enjoying the dance.. suddenly the man pulled out his gun and shot the dancing  lady to death... he then pulled the body holding her hands and blood leeching from the wound made spots on the white marble floor...
Watching that he shouted.. with his sound the man turned to him.. and he saw his cruel bluish grey eyes..
The puller didn't remember anything else..

Ppl knew about my moms experience.. they called for some Pandit (man who can feel and find the existence of spirits).. after listening all the incidents and watching the entire area thoroughly,  the Pandit pointed out a place in a field nearby... the spot was digged to find a coffin carrying the skeleton of a woman in green dress and all jewelry, exactly same as described by the rickshaw puller when he said about the dancing lady !

8. The water splashes.. true incident experienced by my colleague, Shyamal Roy..  he resides in a village called Bagdogra about 25 kms from Siliguri. Due to intense greenery around and location of a sanctuary nearby, his place has problems of elephant invasion..
It was one such night when an elephant attacked.. he along with the villagers went with fire balls to drive the elephant away into the jungle..  and they successfully did that.. in this process he anyhow got separated from rest of the group..

While he was returning back home, he had to cross a small passing stream... ut could easily be passed walking. he was near to one of the bank, the opposite bank being clear in front of his eyes.. he saw a human figure sitting on the opposite bank and splashing water on his face from the stream.. he thought the man to be one from his group and called his name... the figure didn't reply and continued his work.. shyamal uncle called name again..  no answer!!
Shyamal uncle thought that his friend was trying to frighten him...
Thinking to destroy his friends plan uncle decided to focus torch which he was carrying on the figure...
Reaching the bank, uncle called for the name and simultaneously focused the torch light on the figure..
But no one was there..  only water droplets on the air, which on the very next moment dropped back again on the stream..
Startled he switched off the light.
And found the figure sitting again... splashing water...
He focused again to find no figure, just droplets of splashed water on the air...

It was then when he realised that the figure on the opposite bank was anything but not living human..

He anyhow escaped the place and returned home safely...

So... these are some of the real incidents/ myths that I've used in my fiction..
Rest all are my imagination or some movie effects!!
