These Shadow Games were more then just a pastime - they became part of a ceremonial ritual that predicted the future and foresaw one's destiny.

However, with so much magic and monsters in the world, it wasn't long before the powerful Shadow Games spun out of control and brought the Egyptian civilization to the edge of destruction. Fortunately, their brave Pharaoh stepped in and averted disaster with the help of the seven magical artifacts known as the Millennium Items.

Now, in present times, the Shadow Games have been revived in the form of the modern trading card game - Duel Monsters. But, lucky for us, these monsters are just images on cards. They're not real...
