Chapter 24 Armen
First period went well. We did some easy "all about me activities." I don't know what I'm going to once I have to start teaching lessons. I don't know where Mr. Marin left off with the class. I know what to teach, but I don't know what they know. Either way, this teaching job was going to be a fun experience. Luckily I'm just a sub. I won't be here permanently. I hope there aren't any trouble makers.
Second period started as normal. It was going so well. Until some kids decided they needed to be obnoxious. They decided they needed to pick on one of the girls.
"Leave her alone," I told the boys as a warning.
"Whatever," one of them said. He left her alone until I got to my desk.
"I told you to leave her alone," I said again.
"Whatever." He stopped for a minute then continued.
"Leave her alone."
"Why should I? Maybe she likes it."
"Are you enjoying it?" She shook her head no. "What do you have to say?"
"I don't care. I'll just leave her alone."
"No you won't. I told you repeatedly, but you didn't."
"So."
"So get your sorry little butt to the principal's office."
"What?!"
"You heard me, now go."
He slowly got up and left the room. Everybody looked at me. "Get back to work," I said.
I went to my desk and had a mental breakdown. I was done with this. I just wanted to go back in time. I wished Collin had never become Herobrine. We wouldn't be in this mess. We could be at our old home, eating sandwiches, and blocking up the creepy basement.
Once second period finally ended, I had my planning period. I could finally have a moment to myself. I had immediately gotten on to the computer. It was on my desk and nobody would see. Nobody would know what I was going to look up.
I pulled up Google and typed "process of adoption". I looked at the results. One that popped out to me was adopt.org. I pulled it up and read through. It showed me the ten steps that need to be completed. It basically summarized that I needed to find an agency, have a home study, and adopt my child. This would be easy to do. Mia is step one of getting the group back together.
I went back to Google and looked up some adoption agencies in the area. One that interested me was Ruby Shire Adoption Agency. They had been helping people adopt kids for 50 years. They had their phone number on the website. I closed the door to my room and gave them a call.
"Hello, Ruby Shire Adoption Agency," the woman on the other side said. "My name is Cristina, how may I help you?"
"My name is Armen McGauphlin. And I am interested in adopting a child," I said.
"Okay. We need to set up a home study to see if your home is suitable for a child."
"Okay, when could that be done?"
"We have any day this week from 9:00 to 11:00 in the morning."
"Is Saturday an option?"
"Yes, does that work best for you?"
"Yes."
"Okay, please send an email telling us you address and phone number so we can contact you. There will be an agent at your house on Saturday at 9. We hope we can help you get the child you want!"
"Okay."
"Goodbye."
"Bye, take care."
She hung up. There was no turning back. I was going to get these kids. The world was turning in my favor.
