Q&A
So I have gotten quite a bit of questions from you guys! I love the idea of doing a Q&A and so that is what I am doing. There are questions about writing, about the characters, even personal questions which I will answer below. :) If you see your question comment next to it! :) Also I answered most of these at the Block Party but thought you'd want to see it here as well. I will start with writing tips/advice then go into personal questions at the end.
Thank you @Xox_magicheart_xox for the great cover above for the Q&A! Looks like a magazine cover! I absolutely love it! <3
The song on the side fits this perfectly! Introducing Me by Nick Jonas- Camp Rock
Anyways enjoy!
1. Will you make a sequel? (Most asked Question)
Honestly I don't know. I haven't thought much about a sequel. I do like the idea but if it was to be a sequel it would not be of Jenna and Liam. It would probably be a Blake and Lennon story, Or one of Jenna's half siblings. I haven't fully decided if I will do one for now I am going to write my other sequel (Silent Love). Maybe in the future. I have so many ideas for books that I want to try and write before writing a sequel.
2. When did Liam start to like Jenna and what was it about her that made him like/love her.
Well I think Liam started to like her when they had the paint fight in Chapter 13. I think that is when he started to see her different. I mean when he heard that her mother left her, he did start to look at her different but the paint war really made the impact for him. Then slowly he started to fall. I think what made him like/love her was how she talked back to him, how she never let being abandoned affect her. Jenna at times was feisty making Liam like her for standing up for herself and not putting up with his crap sometimes.
3. What made Liam change his attitude into a bit of a cold one?
Well I guess I never really fully answered this during the story. For someone like Liam trusting people is hard. Most of the girls he dated only wanted him for his wealth, Carmen included. He didn't let people into his life easily, and with Jenna he didn't want to put his guard down. And why when they would only be in a fake relationship for a year. To him being unattached was better then developing feelings for someone who would quite possible leave and hurt him in the end.
4. How do you plan the chapters? and before starting a story what do u really have in mind ? do u have it all sorted out or do u make up as you go.
Honestly I make it up as I go. There isn't really a thing I do to prepare for chapters. I do have an end result I want to happen or a specific scene, and I work my way towards that. Like the chapter when they confess their love for each other. I thought of that part at the very beginning of the story so I made sure that I would have that somewhere and work towards it. Although some authors make a graph or something that they map out their story from start to finish. I just find that I work better just sitting down and writing whatever comes to mind.
5. Is there a specific playlist you like to listen to when you write? Or a certain mood you have to be in when you write?
When I write I don't really listen to most that often. If I do it is softly in the background because I tend to find myself writing the lyrics to the song when I don't mean to. But to get into a mood for a chapter listening to a really sad song, or love song does let. When I have to write a sad scene, like the accident chapter, I made sure I wrote that late at night. That is when my mood becomes sour, all that self-loathing loves to come out at night. But it does kind of matter what mood you are in when you write. If you are happy you are more likely to write a more lively chapter instead of a sad one.
6. How do you picture these characters in each of your books? Do you base off your characters from the people who surround yo in your life, or just make them up?
There are some people in my stories that do take after people I know. Take Layla for instance, Something Inside, she is based off of me. My hair color, my likes/dislikes, etc. I do a mix of characters that I know and made up ones. There are just times where you can't figure out someone for your book so you just go to google and type in 'hot guys' and go from there. However it is slightly easier to write a character after someone you don't know at all. You don't have to worry about getting a characteristic wrong, or have to know their personality so well. If it is a made up one you can just write that person whoever you feel.
7. Which character do you like the most? Is Liam your definition of a perfect guy?
From this story I would say...Lennon. She kind of has that sarcastic, don't mess with me vibe. I think she can be a badass at times but can make a great friend. Her character is one of my favorites. My other is Devon, although he doesn't come in until later. He seems like he would make the perfect guy best friend. And with Liam...I would say yes he is. He has the looks (Oh does he have the looks!), once you get to know him he has a great personality, he would do anything for you, has a great job, loves his family (If he doesn't love his mom then you don't need him). Plus at first he was kind of like the 'badboy' and who wouldn't love a bad boy they could change ;)
8. What inspires you to write and who would you say have been your biggest inspiration?
What inspires me is fans honestly. Whenever I read a sweet comment about how much they love my book, or a message that someone has sent that said my book helped them in some way. That really encourages me to write more and more. I also love to write because it is like my escape from life and I feel like I am inside the book. (Lame I know) My biggest inspiration would be either Nicholas Sparks or Anna Todd (@imaginator1D). I love Nicholas Sparks books and I know they are cliche love stories but I would love to be able to write like that one day. And Anna Todd because she became this huge author from this site! She writes so beautifully. I'd just love to be her honestly :)
9. How do you stick with a story when you start losing interest to continue writing?
This happens to me a lot. Actually I think this happens to every author. You start a book and suddenly you can't find any motivation to keep going. Sometimes I just open a blank document and just write for 3 minutes straight. Not caring about grammar or anything, just thinking about my story. When the three minutes are up I look at what I wrote and if anything sounds interesting I work off of it. Another thing to do is ask people. Ask your fans, ask your best friend or mom for ideas. Most can be stupid but even just a simple idea can turn into a huge one and make the story even better. Just keep trying and if nothing really comes into mind then you can always scratch the idea and start fresh. I have done that plenty of times to.
10. What inspired you to start writing? Was there a specific thing that motivated you?
There wasn't really anything that inspired me to write. One day of my freshman year in high school a few of my friends in spanish class were like "Hey! Lets all write a story and share it with one another!" (Well maybe not to those exact words). So I did and immediately I got hooked. I starting writing in a notebook and everyday I had it with my in class writing something down. Of course it was absolutely terrible and I even still have it. Then I think it was my Sophomore year a friend of mine mention Wattpad. The moment I got on I became addicted. I started writing immediately and from then on I have been on here practically everyday reading something or writing. There is just something so...captivating about writing a story and getting so into it that you become one of the characters you wrote. And having awesome people commenting and messaging you after reading a chapter you posted just makes you feel great! It makes you want to keep writing. Don't be afraid to try! You don't know where it may lead!
11. How do you come up with names for your characters, in any book? And do the names ever come from real-life inspirations?
Honestly naming a character is pretty hard. You wouldn't think it is. I have gone to friends or my mom asking what a good name for a character would be so many times. Or I have even searched up 'popular boy/girl names' and found the ones I like. In the sequel I am doing for my other book 'Something Inside' called 'Silent Love', the main character is named Carter. That name is what I want to name my own daughter one day :)
12. Will you be writing a book with a strong female lead?
I actually have a story in mind that I want to do with a strong female lead. I am thinking that will be my next book after Silent Love, or what I will write when summer comes.
13. Actually I want to know who is your favourite author???
I honestly couldn't tell you! I have so many! Especially on here. There are some incredible writers I have found through Wattpad. But if I had to say one of my favorites would be Nicholas Sparks, and Cassandra Clare. Two of the greatest authors!
14. I want to write a story but don't know how to start.
When it comes to writing anything goes. What I advise first is to pick a genre that you love to read personally. If you like, lets say romance, than write in romance. Writing the same genre that you love helps the ideas come easier and you know what readers will like. That is the first step next you want to make sure that you have slightly edited the chapter(s) before posting them. As long as there isn't anything major wrong in the chapter it is okay, but people don't like big mistakes. (I have learned this and am now doing big edits before posting). Also don't worry if no one reads you stuff at first. It doesn't happen over night it takes time to get readers and followers. If I hadn't been patient I wouldn't have as many as I do right now. It takes time. And lastly, don't be afraid to get rid of a story if you don't like it. There is nothing wrong if you do that and start over. Everyone does that and sometimes better things come out of it.
15. How do you manage writing and school and does school work hinder your writing?
With school and wanting to write I find it sometimes pretty difficult to do both. Being in my second year of college I don't have as much free time as I would like. And when I do have free time I want to sleep or eat. Because of that I sometimes end up writing really late at night when I'm not suppose to. What sometimes helps is having an 'update day'. A day where you always update and it gives you until that day to write what you can and post it. I haven't done that to much but I have found that to make things slightly easier for me. I know I need to write a chapter by every Sunday and try to make time everyday to write a little. I know what days I have classes on helps me as well. But remember that school is much more important than writing. If you do not have time to write and know you have tons of homework don't just say 'oh I will only write for a minute' because we all know you won't. School comes first for me. If I had a midterm and work on top of that I don't update that week. Also having pre-written chapters does help, so on days where you can't update you can always quickly post a pre-written chapter and get back to what you were doing.
16. Did you know that you're a good writer?
I didn't and I still don't. What I mean is I still can't believe all of you have read my stories and have made this big. I never thought I would get this many reads, votes, comments, and followers! It is incredible and it really makes me glad that I stumbled upon this place. I'm glad I didn't stop writing when I wrote my first book and got no reads or votes. Without you guys I wouldn't be writing and creating these stories for all of you to love!
17. How old are you?
I am 19 years old. My birthday is August 19, 1996 :)
18. What's your favorite color? Are you dating anyone? What is your dream guy like?
Favorite color is Blue. I'm always wearing something blue. I am not dating anyone sadly; I'm forever alone. My dream guy is sweet, kind, has a great smile, athletic, don't care about hair color or eye color, doesn't mind staying home and watching tv, loves animals (kind of a must), doesn't care that I look like crap.
19. Where are you from? The US, UK... ?
The U.S.
20. What inspired you to write 'A Year Agreement'?
Well I had just finished a marathon of millionaire stories and felt inspired. At the time I was writing Something Inside so I kind of just made another story like that one. I realize it is kind of like it but I feel like this story is slightly better in a way.
21. What is your asparation in life?
I would love to be a published author. Go around doing book signing and meeting you all! Maybe getting a book into a movie or tv show. That is a pretty big dream but aside from that I am studying to be an English Teacher :) I can write on the side which is nice.
22. What's your favorite song?
Hmm that is so hard! I have so many favorites and am such a music person. Right now I am addicted to JoJo's new song "Save My Soul" as well as Zayn Malik's "Pillowtalk".
23. Who is your favorite actor or actress
I just love Jennifer Lawerance, Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, Channing Tatum. There are so many.
24. What is your favorite movie?

25. Favorite Disney Film?
I have to say I love them all! Tangled, Big Hero 6, Finding Nemo (So excited for Finding Dory), Frozen, Mulan, Beauty and the Beast (Been told I am just like Belle).
26. Favorite Singer /Band?
We all know I love 5 Seconds Of Summer, Taylor Swift, Matchbox Twenty, Ed Sheeran, One Republic, Fall Out Boy, All Time Low, Marianas Trench, Demi Lovato, Justin Timberlake, and much much more.
27. Favorite Hobby?
