Chapter 4. Revenge
Melanie P.O.V
I stared at the mirror in my room. My hair was a mess, leaves stuck out from my long, brown tangles. My eyes were puffy and red, with dark circles under them.
My clothes were stained crimson red. My hands were covered in the blood of another person.
I grinned as I heard police sirens.
24 hours earlier ~
I went to school as normal, and met with Viola at my locker. She seemed more alert than usual.
"Hey! Guess what?" She exclaimed as she jumped up and down.
"Don't feel like guessing, just spill it," I muttered.
With a pout, she said "Welll, we're having a welcoming party for Roxie, so I want you to come! It'll be at my house, as my parents are away and my house is suuuuper big! You know that anyway, just come, okay?"
She smiled at me, pleading me to come.
I guess I had no choice.. it could be a good opportunity for payback.
"Sure, why not," I said.
"Really? Hurray! I'll tell you the details later, I've gotta go invite more people. Bai!" She exclaimed as she ran off.
I sighed. She's just as enthusiastic as ever.
I grabbed my books from my locker and went to class.
"This will be a fun night," I thought to myself.
~
"Da partys at 7, come early! xoxo" was the message I got from Viola after school. I went home and opened my wardrobe.
I knew I needed to pick a really nice dress, as Troy would be there. If he walked up to me and complimented my dress.. that'd be so wonderful! Like a dream come true.
I stared at all of my dresses with that in my mind. With Troy's flushed face, with just one gaze at me.
I blushed at the thought. I looked through all of my dresses and tried them all.
I tried on a long, elagated brown dress but automatically dismissed it. It made me look ridiculous.
The second dress I tried on was a red, sleeveless dress which was too short, so I dismissed it too. I didn't want Troy to think of me as some slut or something. My heart belongs to him only... after all.
I looked through the pile of dresses and tried on so many I felt sick. They all looked hideous on me.
Until I laid my eyes on that one dress, I instantly knew it'd look incredible on me.
I tried it on without hesitation, and gasped.
It looked so beautiful. It was a dark purple dress with no sleeves and it wasn't too short. It had a big bow and it was puffy at the ends. It fit me so well. ( Im bad at describing dresses, sorry ;^;)
I smiled at the reflection of me in the mirror. I looked flawless.
I applied some makeup to my face and checked the time.
"6:30? I guess I better get going then," I mumbled as I put my pair of scissors into my bag and left the house.
~
I rang the doorbell. As I waited, I recalled how huge Viola's house was, it was literally like a mansion. She wasn't even rich, her parents never even won in a lottery, they just received the house from Viola's grandparents.
I was always jealous of Viola's house.. and her parents. They were always affectionate towards her, they'd never lay a hand on her.
My family was another case. My parents disowned me when I was thirteen because I was aggresive and seen as a 'threat to the family' so they bought me an apartment and kicked me out. My sister was against it but she had no say, and so I live alone.
My parents are such assholes. They never loved me, they never will. No matter what grades I got, what I have achieved or how much I did for them, they saw me as a demon child, only because I got into fights, threatening kids with death. I mean, was it that bad?
I sighed just at the mere thought of my parents. I hate them.
"Yo Mel! Glad you came, come in!" Exclaimed Viola, excitedly, as she opened the door.
I smiled and walked in. The stench of food haunted my nostrils.
I could definitely smell some sweet, baked goods. Like cake or muffins. I made my way into the kitchen and stared at all the food layed out on the table.
There were chocolate muffins, croissants with jam, a rainbow cake with pink icing in the middle, pizza, chips and soda. I gasped, that was a lot of food.
"You look so pretty Melanie! You should wear dresses more often," said Viola, with a smile.
"Thanks, Viola, you look pretty nice yourself," I said as I gazed at her short, green dress with a giant rose on her left breast. It looked a bit strange but I decided not to comment on it.
"I'll go and greet any new guests that come, so you better not eat all of the food!" She said as she left the kitchen.
I rolled my eyes. Id never eat that much, I can't be fat, Troy would never even look at me.
I sat down on a chair and glanced at my phone. 7:03 pm.
I sighed. "When will that blonde bitch come?" I thought impatiently.
Not long has passed before lots of people from our school have flooded the house, including where all the food was. The kitchen.
I looked around, trying to recognize Troy or even Viola, but no luck.
After a while Viola appeared with Roxanne.... and Troy was behind them. I stood up and suddenly blushed as I stared at Troy.
I wanted him to look at me, to watch his reaction. I wanted him finally notice me.
But when Viola ran up to me and left them alone, Roxanne pulled Troy close and kissed him. Right in front of me.
I clenched my fists, hard. So hard I couldn't feel them.
"Hey, Mel, is everything okay?" Asked Viola.
I snapped out of it and faked a smile at Viola. "Everything's perfectly fine."
"Ok, good, cause this party's getting started!" She exclaimed as she turned on the stereo and played some crap dance music, which everyone else seemed to enjoy.
Everyone around me started dancing and I just stood there, unable to move.
I grabbed my bag and made my way out of the kitchen. I went to Viola's bedroom as it was empty, thank god.
I sat on her bed and stared at the reflection in the mirror.
It portrayed pathetic me. He didn't even look at me.. he wouldn't acknowledge me.
I got the sudden urge to punch the mirror, but I stopped myself. It wasn't even my mirror.
I sat on the floor and hugged my knees.
"Why won't he notice me," I muttered.
Suddenly the door opened and someone came in. I looked up.
It was Roxanne.
"Oh, look who we have here, its miss stalker," she exclaimed as she smirked at me.
I glared at her.
But then I remembered the whole purpose of me coming to this party in the first place.
"I want to speak to you, do you mind coming outside with me?"
"Why should I trust you? You clearly hate me."
"No I don't, I want to be friends with you," I said.
She stared at me.
"Can't we talk here?"
"It's too loud, now come on."
I grabbed her hand and dragged her downstairs and into the garden, which was huge too.
Nobody was in sight. I dragged her further into the garden.
"Where are you taking me? I can't even hear the music anymore."
I stopped.
"Right. So I took you here to negotiate with you," I said.
"Negotiate? I thought you wanted to be friends?"
I smirked. "You really are stupid, aren't you? Why would i ever be friend with someone like you?"
"You're mental! Why did you bring me out here then?"
"I told you already, didn't I? You're here to negotiate with me."
Her eyes showed fear, and that made me feel in control.
"Now listen carefully, princess. Troy is mine. He belongs to ME, who gave you the right to kiss him? Who do you think you are? You are to leave him alone forever, if not, I'll gauge your eyes out, is that clear?"
Roxanne just stared blankly at me.
"Excuse me?" Was all she managed to say.
"I said, if you ever go near Troy again, I'll gauge your eyes out. Are you deaf or just stupid?" I said bitterly.
Roxanne just started laughing.
"What's so funny?"
"You're fucking mental! You're crazy! I knew it, you're a psychopath! You need help, you really do. Since when does Troy belong to someone? He's a living person, not an object. And you saying that you'll hurt me if I go near him is beyond stupid. I bet you wouldn't hurt a fly! Haha, go back to a mental asylum, you freak!" She screamed.
I stared at her face for a while before I grinned. I reached for my bag and took out my scissors.
I licked them, watching the horror in Roxanne's eyes.
"You're right, I am mental."
"Get away from me!" She exclaimed.
"So you won't leave him alone? I guess I'll have to dipose of you. Oh well, don't worry, ill tell your family that you love them ♡."
Roxanne suddenly let out a scream. "YOU'RE PSYCHO!"
I smirked. "Yeah, I am."
I grabbed her hair and pulled her down onto the ground and pointed my scissors at her left eye.
"If you scream again, your left eye will be gone."
Tears streamed down her cheeks as she looked into my eyes.
"Please let me go! Im begging you!"
"It's too late now," I muttered.
She punched me in the stomach and ran in the opposite direction. She jumped over the fence at the end of the garden and into the never-ending woods.
"So we're playing tag, hm?"
I ran after her as fast as I could, jumping over the fence and running into the woods. I could hear her hysterical sobs echoing through the woods.
After running for a while I decided to stop and catch my breath. I could still hear her, but it was more fun to take my time.
I walked around the forest, making as little noise as I could.
As I walked and walked, I finally spotted Roxanne. She was sitting on a log, still sobbing.
I wasn't surprised, I mean i was chasing her with scissors.
I quietly crept over to her and wrapped my arms around her. She let out a whimper as she felt me.
"Please.. let me go,"she pleaded.
I lifted up my scissors as I laughed.
"No way!"
A mortifying scream was let out by Roxanne as well as a manic laughter.
~
I killed her. And now Im sitting in my room, waiting for the police to come and arrest me.
I should probably escape, but im out of energy. I stood up and opened my wardrobe, pushed back all the clothes scattered on the floor and opened up a small hatchet. I went in through it and hid in it.
It was the perfect hiding place.
~
