Chapter Twenty Three
Unknown POV
"Is it time now master." A young teenager asks as they approach the high throne of the ship.
They had been awaiting this exact moment, a time when they could take over and rule, as they had always been meant to do.
"Almost. Be patient young one. Our time will come eventually, if we are patient."
Lydia's POV
Okay so what the actual heck was happening right now!
I just found out that my friends are power rangers and now one of them might be dying! This better be some nightmare that I just can't wake up from because I'm sick of this.
Jackson must've figured it out because he was currently unclipping Stiles's helmet and removing it from his head.
He looked terrible, kind of like he was dying, and that really scared me. I mean, this isn't our first time having to save Stiles from a near death experience, but it shouldn't be happening as much as it does to him. One of these times, we're just not going to be able to save him, and that's going to be it.
This better not be that time.
"So is there anything you can tell us about this, or are we going to have to guess?" I asked sarcastically as I looked at Liam.
He looked panicked, but he also looked like he was just worried, not so much panicked as I was thinking.
"Liam!" I snapped in front of his face in a last effort to bring his attention forward.
It worked, thankfully, but I still had to get him to say what exactly was happening so that was going to be an entirely different issue in itself.
"Alright, can you tell me what's happening to him?"
He shook his head.
"Well Liam you're going to have to try. I can't help him if I don't know what's going on with him."
"I don't know what's happening Lydia. One minute he was fine, just fighting the monsters like normal, and then the monster was draining his magic, but it might've left something behind."
So poison?
Alright. I think I can work with poison.
Who am I kidding! I may be smart, but I know nothing about alien monster magic poison!
"Guys...I think something's happening."
We looked over to where Jackson was sitting with the still unconscious Stiles to see Stiles violently seizing.
"This I can handle."
I dropped down next to them and turned him in his side. Then I started counting. Pretty sure none of us had our phones on us and these need to be timed.
Eventually he calmed down and did stop, but he still wasn't waking up.
"Is there anyone you know through your power ranger gig that could help us with this?" Jackson asked as he looked up at Liam.
Liam just shook his head.
"Not someone that would actually help him." Liam said as he looked down. I noticed his hands were balling up into fists which definitely wasn't a good sign.
So he had someone that could help but wouldn't help? Yeah that's convenient.
"Look. I don't even know who to trust right now, and Stiles said your name which I figured was a sign to call you, so I did and now you're here, but even you don't know what to, so now Stiles is doomed, I'm doomed. Everything and everyone is doomed!" He finished as he threw his hands up in the air dramatically to make his point.
He stomped away like a child and he disappeared into the rows and rows of storage crates.
Great. Why did he have to pick now to throw a temper tantrum?
"L..ya" I snapped my head around at the mention of my name to see Stiles struggling to open his eyes.
Did he just say my name?
"Stiles I'm here." It was good that he was awake and talking. Well slurring, but that's better than nothing.
Jackson could take care of him for a couple minutes while I went and talked some sense into Liam, who by the way was making a lot of noise.
My guess is that he was smashing things in the back.
Jackson seemed to understand by just one look, but it didn't look like he was going to leave Stiles's side anytime soon.
....
I found Liam punching crates to smithereens in the back, exactly where I thought he was going to be.
"What is your problem!" I screamed as I walked towards him. I had been way too nice to him, when what he needed right now was someone to tell him how ridiculous he was acting, and now not okay this was, especially in the circumstance we're in at the moment.
He paid no attention to me whatsoever and continued what he was doing to the point where I had to walk up and forcefully turn him around to face me.
"Now let's try this again. What is your problem!" He flinched at my tone, which I noticed, but didn't care about at the moment.
"Stiles is dying and you're acting like a toddler. You may be only 16, but now is not the time to act half your age. You need to grow up right now and help us with this. You're the only one of us that saw what happens, which means you're the only one who can help us figure out how to reverse it. So when you're done acting 8, which will be right now. Get your butt back over there and tell us everything you know about what happened. Do you understand me?!"
He nodded nervously and scurried off, not making eye contact with me as he did so.
I guess that worked.
The only thing I feel like I shouldn't have done there is act like a parent. I totally have in to his whole toddler act, but it got the job done, and it made him drop the whole tantrum, so I guess I'm okay with it.
Now let's save Stiles.
