Riqi-Tio
The sun hadn't even come up yet. It was early in the morning, Alphinaud was still asleep in one of the new beds we made. I knelt down and looked into his sleeping face. He was so peaceful and cute. I blushed and lightly kissed his cheek. Papalymo climbed onto my shoulder and I saddled up Alisaie. I wanted to go out and train with our new raptor, but I didn't want to wake Alphi. I quickly scribbled on an old recipe, making a note that read "out training". I stuck it to the smithy bench in hopes Alphinaud would see it. Then I jumped on Alisaie's saddle and we rode off. Just like with Krile, we started out basic. First we worked on health, then stamina. I put her through a few exercises that would boost how much she weight could carry. As we trained, Alisaie began to run faster and jump farther. She killed dodos with more ease as well. I rode her around for a while, boosting her strength some more. That's when we heard the cries of distress. I halted the raptor and my ears perked up. It sounded like.... a person? The noises stopped momentarily, then sounded again. "The sound is coming from that way! Can you get us there, Alisaie?" I asked. The raptor snorted and took off. As we were getting closer to the source of the noise, I could hear ravager growls as well. "Is someone being attacked?" I wondered outloud. Alisaie nervously stamped the ground. She couldn't find out where the sound was coming from now. It seemed to echo all around us. It sounded like someone was screaming for help. Papalymo barked and jumped off my shoulder, running to a large rock. "Woah! Where are you going?" I asked him. He barked again. Alisaie and I began to follow him. He jumped behind a large rock and we followed suit. I gasped upon the scene. A small child was being surrounded by a pack of ravagers. By the looks of it, she wasn't injured. Yet. She screamed as a ravager jumped towards her. "Leave her alone!" I yelled and charged Alisaie directly into the alpha of the pack. I jumped off the raptor's saddle and let her deal with the ravager so I could fight off a different one. It was fairly easy to kill. "Huh, I'm getting better at surviving this place after all!" I cheered. The third and final ravager jumped at me, knocking me to the floor. Alisaie darted over and head butted it off of me. "Nice job!" I told her as she killed it. The alpha was dead too. Alisaie gave me a raptor's chirp as I turned to the child. "Are you alright?" I asked her. She looked up at me. I saw it now, she was a miqo'te! "I think so... hey, you're the Warrior of Darkness!" She suddenly exclaimed. "Yup, that's me! Are you from Eorzea?" I said back. "No, I'm from the First. My parents and I were on vacation in the Raktika Greatwoods when we kind of... fell into a pit. But the pit lead into an entirely new world, this place." She explained. "You said your parents are here too?" I asked. The child sniffed. "N-not anymore. My mom fell over a cliff here. I don't know where it lead, except that it went down to a glowing pink place. My dad told me to stay put. He said he would bring my mom back. I waited for a few days, eating berries off the bushes nearby. Neither of them came back." She said, wiping her eyes. "Oh... I'm so sorry. What's your name?" I asked. "Riqi-Tio. Thank you for saving me." She replied. "This is a dangerous world. Me and my friend fell down here a few weeks ago. How about I take you to our base? You'll be safe from ravagers there." I offered. Riqi-Tio nodded. "O-ok." I helped her onto Alisaie's saddle and Papalymo climbed back onto my shoulder. Then we sped off towards our little safe zone. I leaped off the raptor's back and threw open the behemoth gates as soon as she came to a halt. "Hey Alphi! Are you awake?" I called out. "Yeah, I saw your note. Were you able to level... um, Alisaie?" He asked, preoccupied by a recipe at the smithy bench. "Yup! But that's not the best part! I came back with a new friend!" I told him. "Wha- Jackie! Are you taming more creatures? You know we don't need anymo-" Alphinaud came around the corner and stopped mid-sentence as he saw the miqo'te child. "How- what?" "Alphi, this is Riqi-Tio. I saved her from ravagers. Do you think she can stay with us until we find a way back to the surface?" I asked. "Y-yes of course. I didn't know others besides us fell down here." He said. "Wait, isn't this the kid we met in the Crystarium? The one who wanted to become a healer?" Alphinaud questioned. "Yeah! That's me! I was wondering how I recognized you two!" She giggled. "Well, it's good to see you again, Riqi-Tio. Although, I would have preferred to meet up under different circumstances." Alphinaud said. Riqi-Tio's stomach growled. "You said you've only eaten berries for the last few days? Geez, you're gonna get sick. Here, we have a few pieces of cooked fish. I'll throw some meat in the fireplace." I handed her a plate of smoked colecanth. "Thank you!" She exclaimed as she chowed down, barley even stopping for a breath.
