Chapter 35: The Wedding

Mitch's P.O.V.

"Do you, Scott Richard Hoying, take Mitch to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

The blonde smiled down at me, rubbing his thumbs over my knuckles.

"I do," he said, staring into my eyes.

"And do you, Mitchell Michael Coby Grassi, take Scott to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

I swallowed away the lump in my throat. "I do."

The wedding officiate smiled warmly at us, closing his book. "Then by the power invested in me by the state of Texas, I know pronounce you connected in blissful marriage for the rest of your lives. You may now kiss the groom."

Scott took me into his arms, dipping me back gently and placing his lips on mine. I heard clapping an cheering around us, but it all seemed small compared to the fireworks that were going off right now.

When he finally pulled away, I beamed up at him, my hands on his tuxedoed chest.

"I love you with all of my heart," I whispered against his cheek.

"I love you too. I couldn't imagine my life with anyone else but you."

"Not even Channing Tatum? I mean, he's gorgeous."

He chuckled and lifted me back up, placing a hand around my waist. "He doesn't even compare to you my love."

"Scott!" Shouted an excited voice from the crowd. I craned my neck to see the source, smiling when I saw Scott's mother coming towards us, pulling his father along with her.

"Mom! Dad!" He shouted in reply, rushing forward to meet them. I hung back for a second, then took a few cautious steps forward.

"It's so good to see you!" Scott exclaimed as he hugged each of them.

"It's good to see you too sweetie! This suit fits you nicely," she complimented, running her hands over the front. Her motherly hands adjusted the little things as she looked Scott over.

"Mom..." Scott whined, embarrassed. He pulled me closer to his side.

"Mitchell!" She pulled me in for a hug. I grinned at her easy acceptance. She had been this way towards me since Scott and I were in middle school.

"Good to see you too Mrs. Hoying," I said as she released me.

"Mom! Be careful!" Scott scolded quietly, trying be discreet, but Scott had always been terrible at whispering.

"It's alright," I assure her, lifting up my pant leg to display the shiny metal brace underneath. "I'm supported."

She gave me a sympathetic look. "I'm so sorry. I forgot all about that little incident. What ever happened to that Troye boy?"

"He's in jail for a very long time," Scott said positively. "Now if you'll excuse us, me and my husband are going to go have the first dance."

Scott's dad patted him on the back. "I'm proud of the man you've become son," he said, wrapping Scott up in a big bear hug.

"Thanks dad." Scott's voice was muffled in the older man's chest. He released Scott, then looked to me.

"Glad to have you in the family Mitch," he offered proudly, wrapping me in a hug as well.

"Thanks Mr. Hoying," I said awkwardly. He let go of me and grabbed his wife's hand.

"Call us mom and dad," Scott's mom insisted, patting my arm. "Come on Richard. Let's give the newlyweds their space."

They disappeared into the crowd of people, and as we weaved in and out of the bustling wedding-goers, I threw Scott a panicked look.

"What?" He asked, his voice full of concern. He wrapped his arm tighter around my waist. "What is it angel?"

"I..." I felt myself begin to cry. Scott pulled me to the side of the big dance floor.

His thumbs gently wiped my tears away. "What's wrong baby? Come on, talk to me Mitchie."

"I-I can't dance Scott," I sobbed.

He held me close as he stroked my hair. "Shh, it's alright baby. I'll help you."

"How?"

He smiled confidently. "Follow me." He grabbed my hand and started to lead me onto the floor. I pulled him back.

"Scott, please don't make me go out there and embarrass myself," I begged.

He kissed me on the forehead. "Do you trust me?"

I nodded. He took that as submission and pulled me into the middle of the dance floor. I felt a hundred eyes on us as Scott the music started up, but the way Scott was holding me so close made me feel like we were the only two people here.

"How am I going to-"

"Shhh," he interrupted. "Just let me lead, alright?"

I nodded, watching him dance gracefully away from me. I was confused at first, until he twirled back to me.

"Ready?" He asked softly. I gulped, but nodded. "Alright. Step on my feet."

I raised an eyebrow. "Isn't that something I'm not supposed to do?"

He chuckled softly, putting his hands on my waist. "Yes, but this is a special occasion. Just put your feet over mine."

I obliged, still wary. "Okay, now what?"

He grinned down at me. "Now, we dance."

"Scott, what-woah!"

He lifted up his feet and began dancing, taking me with him.

"Scott! This is...amazing actually."

He kissed me lightly. "I knew it would be Mitchie. Just relax and enjoy it."

"You don't have to ask me twice," I said softly, resting my head in his chest. Slowly, we rocked back and forth, the perfect of picture of true love.

Kirstie's P.O.V.

"Shouldn't we be out watching Scott and Mitch?" Avi asked from the other side of the bathroom door. "I think they're having the first dance!"

I paced the floor nervously, holding the small stick in my hands. "It only has a few more seconds to go. Just hang on!"

"Almost done?" Avi shouted a few second later.

"Fifteen more seconds!" I yelled back. "Stop yelling at me!"

"I'm sorry, it's just, this is a really big deal! I mean, just think..."

I stopped pacing. The time was up. I shakily raised the stick up to look at it, letting out a shaky breath when I saw the results. It made sense...

The way my stomach never seemed to flatten completely...

I opened the door slowly.

"Well?" Avi asked quietly.

I let a tear slide down my face. "Avi, I'm pregnant."
