*Chad POV*
I wake up the next morning and try to get out of bed but then I see the three younger kids asleep on my bed. I move Asher and Sean some. I get up and go downstairs. I get down there and Dustin is the only one up.
"Hey. You want to go out for breakfast" I ask
"You sure you're up for it" he asks
"Of course. Come on" I say
"Ok" he says
I leave a note for them then we head out to the car.
"Can I drive" Dustin asks
"Sure" I say
I toss him the keys then get in the passenger side.
"Where to" he asks
"It's up to you. You're the one driving" I say
He starts the car and drives off. After a few minutes we get to Denny's and go in. We get seated and order drinks then start talking.
"Are you coming to church with us tomorrow" Dustin asks
"Don't know. It depends on how I feel. I definitely feel better today and right now but it might change later on" I say
"My sister really does love you. She likes that her favorite band adopted her" he says
"Yeah well I just feel like a horrible father because I can't do things with her and then she gets mad and runs off and it scares me that one day when she's older she's going to get mad, run off, and never return" I say
"Chad I know my sister and she would never leave you. And if she does run off she'll probably go to the Regan's. They're like family as well" He says
"True. Now why were you up so early" I ask
"My best friend's mom died all of a sudden last night so I drove to her house and comforted her then came back and couldn't fall asleep." He says
"Oh do you like this friend" I ask
"Maybe but she doesn't like me and wouldn't" he says
"Why's that" I ask
"We've been best friend since we were 6 years old. I fell in love with her as soon as I saw her. And of course I was little and asked her to be my girlfriend but she said no. We became best friends and I never got over her but she got a boyfriend last year and they just broke up last week." He says
"Really Dust you never got over me" we hear
"Hey Hail. Yeah." I say
"I really do love you. I just thought you didn't so I was dating someone to make you jealous" the girl says
They both smile and Dustin reaches in to his backpack that he brought along.
"You're not gonna bring out that shovel you hit me with in middle school are you" she asks
"Of course not. And that's your fault for getting your head in the way of my dirt hole" he laughs
He finds what he's looking for and gives it to her. She looks at it and laughs.
"So Hayley Jennifer Ross will you take this crayon now and be my girlfriend" he asks
"Of course I will" she says
He smiles and kisses her cheek and the whole restaurant explodes in applauses.
"Now who are you here with Hayley" I ask
"By myself actually" she says
"Well why don't you join us" I say
"Um ok" she says
"Now what's the story behind the crayon and paper" I ask
"Well like I said I asked her out when I was little we always talked about our favorite color. And she always said hers was a burnt orange roseart crayon. So when ever I wanted her attention I would throw one at her and she would know it was me but then I would get in trouble for throwing something and hitting something" he says
"When we got older I started playing a long and he said his favorite color was a forest green crayola crayon so I would throw one at him. We took a trip to the crayola factory and we were just looking around. We ended up buying each other crayons. I bought him a pack of burnt orange crayons and he bought me a pack of forest green ones. We carry them around with us and whenever we see each other we toss a crayon at them. And as for the paper it's a letter he wrote to me when we were in middle school. Written in burnt orange crayon. It said you melt my heart just like your drawings with this crayon would melt a snowman. I thought it was pretty cheesy and gave it back to him" she says
"That's adorable" I say
"Come on Chad don't embarrass me" he says
"You don't need help doing that. You do it quite enough on your own" Hayley says
We talk a little more then a waitress comes and takes our order. When the food comes we start eating but with minimal conversation. We finish eating and I pay.
"Thank you Chad but I could've paid for myself" she says
"Yes but it's my treat" I say
"Well thank you" she says
"Hey hail who are you staying with" Dusty asks
"Oh crap" she says
"What" Dusty asks
"Dust I just realized that tomorrow I'm moving to New York with my Aunt" she says
"W-what" he asks
"I'm so sorry" she says
"Doesn't your cousin live around here" he asks
"Maybe I don't know I'd have to investigate. I'm so sorry I'll call you later" she says
She walks out and Dustin runs to the car. I go out to the car and get in the driver seat.
"You ok" I ask
"Yeah." He mumbles
"Ok" I say
"Can we just go home" he asks
I nod and start the car. We get home and he runs right in probably up to his room. I get out of the car and go inside.
"Chad why did Dusty run in then up to his room and slam the door" Caleb asks
"Something happened today" I said
"We'll did you talk to him" Spencer asks
"Yes but he wants to be alone and needs to be alone for a little bit." I say
"Joey and Spencer go take the kids to the park for a little bit please" Caleb says
"Ok" Joey says
They gather the three kids up then leave.
"Chad what's wrong" he asks once they leave
"Nothing" I say
"Clearly something is wrong. You're getting angry which never really happens and Dusty ran to his room and slammed the door" Caleb says
"Dusty is upset because last night his best friend's mom died. He wanted to comfort her so he drove to her house and stayed there with her while she cried till she fell asleep. Today at breakfast she was there and he ended up asking her to be his girlfriend. She said yes and she sat down and ate with us. But then she said she was moving to New York where her aunt lives. He's trying to get her to move in with her cousin who lives in Nashville but if she can't he'll have had a girlfriend for all of forty five minutes and it's his best friend" I say
"Ok. So now what's got you all grumpy" he asks
"Nothing it's just a conversation Dustin and I had that keeps going through my head" I sigh
"What was it about" he asks
"Don't worry about it. It was stupid. Now we should probably go and join them at the park. Because I don't trust them there alone" I say
Caleb nods his head and we go out to his car. We get in and he drives to the park. We get out and go over to where Joey and Spencer are wrestling each other.
"Um guys where are the kids" I ask
"On the playground" Spencer says
"Where on the playground" Caleb asks
Joey and Spencer run off and ten minutes later they return with the three kids.
"Let's go home and watch some movies" I say
"We want ice cream" Lily says
"No doughnuts" Sean says
"You are definitely Spencer's brother" Joey says
"What is that suppose to mean" Spencer asks
"You're both ridiculous" I say
I pick Lily up and start walking to my van. I set Lily in her seat and buckle her in the get in the driver seat and buckle. The others catch up and get the other two kids then Joey hops in next to me. Spencer and Caleb then go get in Caleb's car. I'm about to drive off when I get a text.
D-where are you guys
C-we're going for doughnuts. You want anything
D-no. Can I talk with you when you get home
C-of course
I put my phone down and start the van.
"Who was that" Joey asks
"Dustin. He needs to talk with me" I say
"Oh ok" Joey says
"Daddy Sean and Asher are asleep" Lilly says
"Ok. Uncle Joey will text uncle Caleb and tell him to stop and get the doughnuts and we'll go home and put them to bed" I say
We get home and go inside. Joey and I put the two boys down for a nap then he goes downstairs to Lily and I go to Dustin's room. I knock and once I hear come in I walk in. I go in and see Dustin at his desk working on something. I go over and sit on his bed.
"Whatcha working on" I ask
"Nothing" he says
He shuts his notebook and turns around and faces me.
"So what did you want to talk about" I ask
"I'm sorry for yelling at you and running away from you" he says
"It's fine. We all have our moments" I say
"So Hayley called me and said she's allowed to live with her cousin. And it also turns out that her cousin is Destiny" he says
"Oh that's cool. Why don't you invite her over to dinner so the other guys could meet her." I say
"Alright" he says
I leave the room and go downstairs. I go to the kitchen and start dinner.
"Chad don't forget the girls are joining us for dinner and Donny then Donny is sleeping here because tomorrow is his wedding" Joey yells
"Ok" I say
I finish dinner just as there's a knock on the door. I open the door and see the girls, Donny, Max, and Hayley.
"Hello there. Come in" I say
They come in and we go to the dining room.
"Guys dinners ready" I yell
After a bit I hear footsteps and everyone is sitting at the table. Seated at the table it goes me, Fallon, Lily, Max, Caleb, Kelsey, Sean, Spencer, Destiny, Joey, Asher, Jewel, Donny, Yuna, Dustin, and Hayley. I pray then we start eating.
"So bro you ready to get married tomorrow" Joey asks
"Yeah. Now who's going to be the next to propose" Donny asks
"Me" max says
"Who are you going to marry" Fallon asks
"Lily she's very pretty" he says
"Hey she's not allowed to date until she's 45" I say
"I'm not 45" Yuna says
"Fine 28" I say
"Chad babe don't you think that's a little overboard" Fallon asks
"No" I say
"Daddy is there dessert" Asher asks
"I don't know. Ask uncle Chad" Joey says
"I wasn't in charge of dessert. It's Spencer's turn" I say
"No I switched with Caleb" Spencer said
"You are all lucky I actually did make a dessert" I say
"What is it uncle chaddy" Sean asks
"What do you think it is" I ask
"Cookies" him and Asher cheer
I nod and get up from the table. I bring the cookies out. Once the boys are done Spencer and Joey take them upstairs for a bath and to put them to bed.
"Hey Fallon Max can sleep here if he wants" I say
"Then Lily has to come with us" She says
"Hey max. You want to come hang with us guys" I ask
"Yeah" he cheers
"Lily you want to come with us" Fallon asks
"Yes please" lily says
The girls leave and I take Max to bed as well. Once he's asleep I go downstairs and start cleaning up from dinner.
"Chadwick Matthew Graham. Stop doing the dishes and let someone else clean up from dinner" Caleb scolds
"Don't worry it won't take to long." I say
"Chad stop. Caleb and I will clean up from dinner" Joey says
"Come on Chad. Dustin needs help with his homework" Donny says
I sigh and give Caleb the sponge. I go out to the living room and start cleaning up in there.
"Chad just go up to bed. You're probably extremely tired and I sort of want you at the wedding tomorrow and. It fast asleep" Donny says
I nod and go up to my room. I change into pjs and get in bed. I close my eyes and drift off to sleep.
