{Christmas Day}

*Jamie POV*
So let's see here Lilly hasn't let me leave her side since she's been sick and she's still sick so I had to take off work the last two days. Danny goes and talks to Caleb about today and everything else has been pretty normal.
"Lilly sweetheart you've got to wake up. It's Christmas morning" I say
"No my tummy hurts" she says
"Really badly" I ask
Before she can answer she starts throwing up. I take her to the toilet so she can throw up in it. Once she finishes I flush the toilet and hold her as she cries.
"Danny" I yell
I hear footsteps and Danny comes in. He comes over to us. He tries to take Lilly from me but she just clings.
"Come on Lilly you got to go to Danny so I can shower and change. He'll give you a warm bath and change you into some nice warm,clean clothes" I say
"O-ok" she hiccups
Danny takes her and I go to my old room. I walk into my bathroom and take a shower then change. I go to Erin's old room, where Lilly has been sleeping, and go in. "Jaime" she says
She comes over to me and I pick her up.
"Hey Lilly what do you want for breakfast" I ask
"Nothing" she mumbles
"You have to eat something or you'll get more sick" I say
"How about I make you a very special fruit smoothie" Danny asks
"Ok" Lilly mumbles
We go downstairs and Danny goes to the kitchen while I go to the dining room where everyone else is.
"How is she" Linda asks
"She's still not feeling good. Danny is making her a fruit smoothie" I say
"Ok" she says
Here you go Lilly" Danny says
Lilly takes the cup and I sit down with her in my lap.
"Jamie you want me Roger you something to eat" Danny asks
"Uh peanut butter toast" I say
"Ok kid" Danny says
"Why does Danny call you kid if your brothers" Lilly whispers
"Because I'm his little brother and that's his nickname for me" I say
"Dad can we open presents" Sean asks
"Go ask pops" Linda says
Jack and Sean run off and we all continue eating.
"What time do you leave for work" I ask
"I have to leave right now actually I just wanted to make sure Lilly was ok. If something happens that you can't handle Erin will help you" Linda says
Linda leaves and we all go to the den for presents.
"Lilly are you done your smoothie" I ask
After I don't get a reply I look down and see she's asleep. Nicky takes her cup to the kitchen then returns.
"Ok boys you may open presents" pops says
*Chad POV*
Joey and I wake up and have breakfast. A few minutes after we're done Linda walks in.
"Hey Linda merry Christmas" I say
"Merry Christmas boys. How are you guys doing" she asks
"Ok. My leg is stiff. But my shoulder is doing great" Joey says
"That's the pain killers Joe and your leg will be stiff since you aren't able to bend it at all" Linda says
"I'm okay. I've been feeling sick but other then that I'm okay" I say
"Ok well dinner is at 4 so I'll get you two when it's time" Linda says
We thank her and she walks out.
"Should we call home and wish them merry Christmas" I ask
"Yeah" Joey says
I grab my phone and call Caleb then put it on speaker.
Ca-hey Chad everything ok
Ch-yeah we just wanted to wish you all merry Christmas and sorry we can't spend it with you all
As-dada
J-yeah bud I'm here
As-I love you daddy
J-love you too
Sp-how are you guys doing
Ch-good
Se-uncle Joey
J-what Sean
Se-Bubby won't give me food
J-Spencer why won't you give your brother food
Sp-no he wants cookies. I'm not giving him cookies at 1 in the afternoon
Ch-how's Lilly
Ca-ok. She's been sleeping over at Frank's with Jamie
Ch-ok tell her Merry Christmas for me please
Ca-will do. Bye guys
J-bye
I hang up and out my phone down. I look over and see Joey close his eyes.
"You okay" I ask
"Yeah. I just got a shoot of pain in my leg" he says
"Do you want more pain medicine if your allowed" I ask
"No. I'm good" he says
I turn the tv on and flip through channels till I decide on full house. Around 4 o'clock Linda walks in with a few more nurses and two wheel chairs.
"Ok you guys are joining my family for Christmas dinner they are already waiting in a private room for us" Linda says
"No Linda we can't that's your time with your family" Joey says
"He's right" I say
"I'm not taking no for an answer. If I have to I'll get Frank and Henry down here to force you to join us" she says
"Ok fine" I say
The nurses help us into the wheelchairs then push us down the hall following Linda. We get to a room and Linda opens it. Inside is all the guys, kids, girlfriends, and the Reagan family.
"Merry Christmas" they all say
"Merry Christmas" Joey and I say
"Daddy" Lilly smiles
"Hey Lilly bug how are you" I ask
"Ok. I'm still icky though" she says
"What do you mean" I ask
"She's been sick the last couple of days. Her fever is gone finally but she still has a small cold. Jaime and Danny have been taking care of her" Linda says
"Thanks guys" I say
"Well shall we eat this delicious dinner that everyone worked on" Henry asks
"Of course" Fallon says
Caleb and Spencer push us over to the table and sit down.
"Chad would you like to say the blessing" Frank asks
"Sure" I say
"Dear Heavenly Father thank you for sending your son to save us from all our wrong doings and taking our place. Thank you for keeping Joey safe even if he did get hurt. He is able to be sitting at this table with us. Thank you for being with us all. Thank you for the Reagan family and for how much they have helped our family. Thank you for Alan, Caleb, and Spencer. Thank you for how much they have supported me through my chemo. I thank you for all our children. In your name I pray amen" I pray
Everyone else echoes amen and we start eating.
"Come on Lilly please eat" I beg
"No daddy I'm not hungry" she says
"So Joey how are you feeling" Frank asks
"Ok. I have the days where it hurts and I complain to Chad or Linda but I get over it" Joey says
"How's work going in the Reagan household." Caleb asks
"Difficult as always. I mean PC is a hard job" Frank says
"Oh boo hoo Francis" Henry says
"I don't know my job has been quite easy especially two of my patients except when their friends cause trouble" Linda says
"She's talking about you Richard Alan Powell" I scold
"Hey you didn't listen to me" Alan says
"Ok boys no arguing. You're just as bad as Danny and Jamie" Erin says
"No that's Chad and Joey" Spencer says
"No it isn't" Joey says
"Sorry babe but it is" Jewel says
"That's harsh" I say
"Toughen up" Fallon says
"How's the cancer Chadwick" Henry asks
"Ok. I have hard days and easy days but it helps to have Joey there and his support everyday 24/7" I say
"That's good." Henry says
"Daddy when do you and uncle Joey get to come home" Lilly asks
"I don't know sweetie. Maybe if you ask Linda she'll give you an answer." I say
"Linda when can Daddy and Uncle Joey come home" Lilly asks
"Well Lilly uncle Joey can come home the day after New Years. And your Daddy can come home two days after uncle Joey" Linda says
"Ok" Lilly says
"Uncle Joey are you ok" AJ asks
"Yeah darling. I'm fine. My legs just sore" he says
"Do you want a kiss to make it feel better" Presley asks
"Sure princess Presley" Joey says
All four little girls get up and kid Joeys cheek.
"Well thank you girls" Joey says
"Awe that was cute" Nicky says
"That was yucky" Asher say
"Aww come on baby boy. Will you give me a kiss" Joey asks
"No daddy" Asher laughs
"I'll give you a kiss baby" Jewel says
"Yo no PDA at the table" Danny says
"Come on Danny it's young love." Linda says
"If I remember correctly you and Linda were this way" Jamie says
"Oh yeah I remember that. We all had a bet on how long you could go without kissing Linda and Joe won" Erin says
"Wait wait wait what did each of you guess" I ask
"I said an hour" Erin says
"I said 25 minutes" Henry says
"I said 15 minutes" Frank says
"I said 8" Jamie says
"Joe said 5.5" Erin says
"Wow" I say
"Wait didn't we do something like that to Alan" Caleb asks
"Oh I have to hear this story" Jamie says
"What? And I never knew about this" Alan asks
"Yeah. We bet $25 I think" Joey says
"Well what happened" Dusty asks
"Ok ok so Alan and Brycie were dating and as they started getting closer we decided to bet on when he would propose." Caleb says
"I said 1 month" Joey says
"I said a week" I say
"I said 1 and a half weeks" Caleb says
"Who won" Danny asks
"Me" I say
"Chad you cheated" Alan says
"What how did he cheat" Caleb asks
"Well since he's my best friend I was talking to him and told him when I was planning on proposing to Brycie" Alan says
"Chadwick Matthew Graham" Joey scolds
"I'm sorry I'm sorry don't hurt me" I say
"Come on Chad we wouldn't hurt you" Spencer says
"We can't. You're bigger and stronger than us" Joey says
"Not anymore" I mumble
I look up and see that Caleb heard me.
"You know what I think it's time for dessert" Kelsey says
"Yeah. Me want ice cream" Sean says
"Bub there is no ice cream. We have pie, cake, and cookies" Spencer tells his brother
"We want ice cweam" Asher says
"Ooh dad can we have ice cream" Jack asks
"Woah ok hold on. Lucky for you kids eddy just asked if she could come join us for dessert and asked if she could bring anything so I asked her to bring ice cream" Jamie says
"Well isn't that sweet. Now what about Baez. Did you invite her Danny" Frank asks
"Yes. She said she was busy." Danny says
"Ok" Henry said
"Didn't you guys just have a case and she shoot someone" Linda asks
"Yeah. It was only her second shooting that she actually killed someone" Danny says
"Danny go and call her she's probably freaked out and guilty" Erin says
"Come on sis really" Danny whines
"Uncle Danny no whining or you'll go in timeout" Asher says
"He's not your uncle buddy" Joey says
"Yes he is. He's our uncle" Sean says
"It's alright Joey they can call us aunt, uncle, grandpa, pops if they want" Frank says
"Alright Linda I'll go call her" Danny says
"Thank you" Linda says
Danny gets up and walks towards the door just as there is a knock.
"Hey Eddie go ahead and sit down. I have to go call Baez" Danny says
Eddie comes into view and sits down next to Jaimie.
"Uncle Jaimie when are you Eddie gonna date" Lilly asks
"Lillian" I scold
"I don't know miss Lillian. We're not really allowed to. Rules of the NYPD. Maybe if you talk to the boss we can" Jaimie says
"Grandpa why can't they date" Lilly asks
"Yeah gramps why can't they" Niki asks
"Well kids you see the there was a cop while pops was commissioner.  He was in love with this girl and  they were both cops. She ended up getting killed in the line of duty and he was planning on proposing that night. Well he was upset and blamed himself for not being able to protect her and committed suicide. Therefore pops made that rule so no more incidents like that happened." Frank says
"I don't think that's fair" Jack says
"And whys that" Erin asks
"Because if people love each other, like Uncle Jaimie and Eddie, they should be able to date. Because maybe it would end great" Jack says
"You know what Jack I think that's a great point. Maybe I should talk with all the sergeants and see if we can change that rule" Frank says
"Well actually dad I already sent a text to Garrett and Sid and they agreed with Jack and they're changing it right now" Erin says
"Look at that Jack you made a difference in someone's life" Linda says
At that moment Danny walks in with Baez behind him. They both sit down.
"So what did I miss" Danny asks
"Nothing" we all say
"Can we have ice cream now" Asher whines
"Ok ok we can. Then you have to go with Uncle Caleb and Uncle Spencer for a nap. Same with Lilly and Sean" Joey says
"Daddy do I have to take a nap" Lilly whines
"Sorry Lilly bug but you do. You haven't been feeling well so I want you to at least rest." I say
"Can I go with Uncle Jaimie and cuddle with him" Lilly asks
"I think he should spend time with his family. Ok. But I'm sure Uncle Caleb will" I say
"Ok" Lilly mumbles
"Hey Dustin you ok" Eddie asks
"Yeah yeah I'm fine" Dustin says
"Well how about we eat dessert because Joey and Chad need to get back to their room." Linda says
"Yeah" the little ones cheer
"Ugh" Joey and I groan
"Oh grow up boys" Fallon says
"Yeah come on Joe. You get out next week and once you get out I'll take you out on a date" Jewel says
"No the man is suppose to take the lady on the date not the other way around" Joey whines
"Joseph you won't be able to drive. Let alone walk. Just let her do it" Kelsey says
"But" Joey starts
"Nope it's final. Jewel is taking Joey out on a date next week" Erin says
"Fine" Joey grumbles
"Ok we better head out" Spencer says
"Ok. Well I'm gonna wheel Joey and Chad to the room. Dustin come with me." Caleb says
"Ok" Dustin says
"Alright everyone we should leave so Linda can get back to work" Frank says
Everyone get up and leaves but Caleb, Dustin, Linda, and obviously Joey.
"Let's go take you back to the room joe"  Lind says
"Ok. I'm getting a little tired anyways" he says
They go away and Caleb and Dustin sit down.
"Ok Dustin what's wrong" Caleb asks
"It's hurt that I felt misplaced. Everyone had someone to be with. You were all close and I was just there not really knowing anyone. I barely know you all" he says
"Dustin. I believe this also has something to do with your parents" I say
"The last time I saw them or my sister was our last Christmas as a family. So Christmas has always been a sad time for me." Dustin says
"Hey you now have to see it as a happy thing. You got a new family near Christmas you were reunited with your sister near Christmas." I say
"You're right guys thanks" Dustin says
"You're welcome now go head to the van. I'm gonna take Chad to his room then I'll be out" Caleb says
Dustin gets up and leaves and Caleb stays seated.
"Chad we would never ever try to hurt you. You're our best friend" Caleb says
"I know and I'm sorry I said that. I don't know why" I say tears threatening to spill
"You said it because you're getting weaker. You realize that you can't do everything and people are wanting to help you but you want to do things in your own. But you can't. You need to let us help you. We want to help you" he says
"But Caleb I feel so useless. I feel like I'm the worse dad in the world. We adopted Lilly so she could have a good life. A father around her to take care of her. Instead she has three uncles taking care of her and a dad who is sometimes around" I say
"Chad to her you're a superhero. We sent her to preschool with Presley because she wanted to go. One day she came home with a drawing. And in the back the teacher wrote what it was. It was a picture of her and daddy playing princess. She loves you Chad. She looks up to you. You're giving her a great life." He says
"Thanks Caleb" I mumble holding in the tears
"Chad I know you're hiding your tears trying not to cry but you don't need to be strong" Caleb says
"Yes I do. I have to be strong for all of you. If I don't cry the little ones don't cry and Joey won't worry about me" I say
"To Joey you're a big brother. If your hurt or sick he wants to be there for you like you're there for him. And right now I bet he's feeling a little down because he has no clue what's going on and he's worried about you. So let's get you back to the room so you can get some sleep" Caleb says
"Ok" I say
He gets up and pushes me back to the room. We get in there and Joey's already asleep. Caleb helps me stand up and get in bed.
"Night Chad. Merry christmas" he says
"Night Caleb. Merry Christmas" I say
He turns off the light and I drift off to sleep.
