*Spencer POV*
Joey's eyes close just as the paramedics come in. They tend to him as a police man comes over to me and destiny.
"What happened" the cop asks
"My girlfriend was kidnapped by the dead men and I came to help her. I was then taken hostage. I guess my friend here followed me and he fought off and killed these men in self defense but then the guy in charge shot him in the shoulder before he got shot." I say
"Ok. Well you guys also need to go to the hospital just to get checked out" the cop says
We go over to the paramedics and they lead us to an ambulance. They soon come out with Joey and put him on a different one. The ambulances take off. We get to the hospital and a paramedic leads Destiny and I to a room.
"You ok" I ask Destiny
"Yeah. Did you call the guys yet" she asks
"No did you call the girls" I ask
"I'm gonna do it once we're checked and free to wait in the waiting room" she says
A few minutes later and a nurse shows up along with a nurse.
The doctor does a concussion test and other stuff.
"Ok you guys are good except for bruises and cuts. The nurse will treat the cuts then you Destiny are good to go. Spencer some cuts are really deep and need stitches then you can go." The doctor says
"Thank you" we say
The nurse deals with our cuts and we go out to the waiting room. Destiny and I walk up to the front desk.
"Can you tell us a anything about Joseph Stamper" I ask
"Not yet. He's still in surgery" the lady says
We thank her then go sit down.
I pull my phone out and call Caleb.
C-what do you need Spencer
S-Caleb bring the kids, Chad, and Donald to the hospital quick
C-why
S-Joey's been hurt
The line goes dead and I put my phone away. I look towards Destiny and she's still on the phone. She hangs up and looks at me. I see tears in her eyes.
"What's wrong" I ask
"This is all my fault" she says
"No it's not. It's mine. They told me not to keep searching and to get some sleep but I didn't listen. I guess Joe knew I wouldn't so he followed to make sure I didn't get hurt." I say
The guys and girls run in and come over to us.
"What happened to you two" Chad asks
"We got a little beat up by the guys before Joey saved us" Destiny says
"How is he" Jewel asks
"We don't know yet. He's still in surgery" I say
Jewel starts crying and Donald does to. We group hug them and we all start crying besides Asher and Sean.
"Should we let Alan know" I ask
"Yeah. I'll go call him" Chad says
"No. Let me do it" I say
I walk off and go outside to call Alan.
*Jewel POV*
"So what exactly happened" I ask Destiny
"To Joey or the whole story" Destiny asks
"The whole story" I say
"Ok so I was getting done with work and going to my car when I got a call. I didn't recognize the number so I didn't answer it. A black vehicle showed up next to me and men hopped out. The grabbed me and put me in it. I quickly texted Yuna and Spencer help before they took my phone. We went to a hotel first and got a room. Placed my phone there then checked out. They then drove to an abandoned hotel and chained me to a wall. Spencer showed up and got taken hostage and tied up as well Joey showed up and killed the first three. Shot two of them then threw a knife at the third. The boss turned around and they both shot. Joey killed him and then Joey got shot in the shoulder. I'm really sorry jewel and Donald" she says crying
"It's not your fault Des." I say
A few minutes later Spencer comes back in.
"Alan said he'd try to get here as soon as possible" Spencer says
He goes to a corner of the room and sits down.
"What's wrong with him" Donald asks
"He thinks it's his fault your brother got hurt" destiny says
The boys go over to him and sit down.
"You okay" I ask Destiny
"Yeah. I'm just worried about Joey." She says
"Hey Joey's a fighter. He'll be alright" Kelsey says
"Yeah. All the buys are fighters. They never give up" Fallon says
*Chad POV*
We go over to Spencer and gather around him.
"You okay bro" I ask
"It's all my fault. I should've never gone out to look for her. If I didn't Joey would still be here" Spencer cries
"Spence you went to save your girlfriend. There's nothing wrong with it. If you didn't go she could've been hurt worse then Joey. Maybe dead. Joey chose to follow you. His goal was to save you both. I don't think he even thought about him getting shot. I know my brother and I know that when he wakes up the first question he will ask is if you two are ok" Donald says
"Come on bro we all know Joey. He's strong he'll be ok" Caleb says
"Where are the kids" Spencer asks
"I told Dustin to take them down to the cafeteria." I say
"Joseph Stamper" we hear
Destiny and Spencer rush over.
"How is he" Spencer asks
"He's gonna be fine. The bullet got taken out and it missed the bone which is a good thing. But he is asking to see his brother and girlfriend and a destiny and Spencer. You guys can go see him just two at a time." The doctor says
"Des and spence you two go first" Jewel says
"You sure" destiny asks
"Yeah" Donald says
They walk off following the doctor.
*Joey POV*
They finish with my surgery and I'm now waiting to see family. There's a knock on the door frame then Spencer and Destiny walk in.
"Are you two okay" I ask
"Yeah Joe we're fine. Thank you for saving us" Destiny says
"No problem and Spence before you say it. No this is not your fault. I decided to go all men in black. Yeah I got hurt but it's whatever" I say
"Wow Joe. Really men in black. You trying to be will smith" Destiny asks
"Come on Des you know no one can be Will Smith. Except himself" I say
"Ok We're gonna let Donald and Jewel come in now" Spencer says
"Ok" I say
They leave and shortly after my brother and girlfriend come in.
"Joey" jewel yells and runs over to me
She hugs me then backs up a bit.
"You're like a little kid on Christmas seeing presents" I laugh
"Well you are a great present and it's almost Christmas" she says
"When's Christmas" I ask
"Uh in three days" Donny says
"Hey bro" I say
"Hey. How are you feeling" he asks
"Sore and a head ache from the blood lost but oh well. How many times did Spencer and Destiny blame themselves" I ask
"Many times. And if Destiny said it Spencer would stop her and say it's her fault" Jewel says
"And let me guess Donny you told him that it was my choice and the only thing going through my head was saving them and I didn't really think about getting hurt" I say
"Yeah" he says
"Well you're right. I didn't care if I was hurt or not. I just wanted to save them." I say
"Yeah yeah. Mr. Will Smith in disguise. Who do you wanna see next" Donald asks
"Want to and its Caleb and Kelsey's turn" Caleb says
Walking in
My brother and girlfriend leave.
"Hey Cabey" I say
"I'll let it slide this time but only because you're hurt" he says
"Hey Kels" I say
"Hey" she says
"Oh Joe Spencer called Alan and he said he'll be here as soon as possible" Caleb tells me
"Okay. Wow when was the last time we saw him" I ask
"Oh before we adopted Lilly" Caleb says
"Yeah." I say
I move a little and since grabbing my shoulder.
"You ok" Kelsey asks
"Yeah. I just can't move comfortably" I say
"Ok. Well who do you want to see next" Caleb asks
"Uh Chad and Fallon I guess" I say
They leave and Chad and Fallon walk in.
"Hey lil bro" Chad says
"Hey big bro" I say
"How ya doin" Fallon asks
"Ok. I can't move at all in this bed or my shoulder hurts" I say
"Weren't they suppose to fix it not make it hurt" Chad asks
"I don't know. They said they did but it still hurts a whole lot" I say
Fallon leaves the room then comes back with a nurse and Doctor.
"Hi mr. Stamper what seems to be the problem" the doctor asks
"My shoulder still hurts and almost as much as when I got shot if not more" I say
He goes to touch my shoulder but I hit his hand away.
"Are you kidding me you are not going to touch my shoulder if it already hurts" I say
"Joe" Chad laughs
"What" I ask
"You need to let the doctor touch it so he can see what's wrong" he says
"But I want to see Asher and if he touches it I might need to go for more surgery" I say
"Fallon will go get Asher and bring him to me" Chad says
Fallon goes out and meets Chad at the door. Chad brings him over to me and sets him on my lap.
"Dada" he squeals
"Hey buddy are you being good" I ask
"No. Uncle Spencer gave me ice cream." He says
"Oh really" I ask
"Yeah" he says
"Ok Asher we need to leave because your dad needs to be somewhere" Chad says
Chad takes Asher and walks out.
"You need more surgery. We aren't sure what's wrong so we need to do tests." The doctor says
*Chad POV*
I grab Asher and go out to the hall. A while later the doctor comes out and over to me.
"We aren't sure what's wrong so we need to run some tests. We'll let you know what we find out" she says
"Ok thank you" I say
I go back in the waiting room and give Asher back to Dustin. I walk to where everyone else is and they look at me.
"They need to run more tests. They aren't sure what's wrong" I say
Jewel and destiny start crying and Spencer and Donald walk away.
"I got Spence you get Donny" I tell Caleb
He agrees and we go look for them. I go outside and see Spencer sitting under a tree.
"This isn't your fault" I say
I sit down next to him and he looks at me.
"I know. It's just why do I feel so bad still even if it's not my fault" he asks
"Because you're still thinking it isn't. All you can think about is Joey and is he going to be okay. You, Donald, Destiny, and Jewel need to leave and go do something. You and Destiny should get some sleep you've been up for 24 hours." I say
"Ok" he says
"Go to my car. The others will meet you there" I say
He walks off and I go inside.
"Donald, Jewel, Destiny come with me" I say
"No I can't leave my brother" Donald says
"Come on Donald. He'll be alright. Caleb and the others will stay here. You three need to come with me though" I say
They sigh but follow me. We go out to my car and we all get in. I drive to my house and we go inside.
"Destiny and Spencer up to bed" I say
They go upstairs and I face the other two.
"Ok so you two can watch tv down here but try and get some sleep. No calling anyone to pick you guys up. No cars are here. And someone will get you once we know more about Joe" I say
Donald and Jewel go to the couches and I leave. I drive back to the hospital and sit with the others. A few hours later the doctor shows up. I get up and walk over to her.
"Ok so we saw many things. First the bullet apparently hit the bone a little bit and when he moved his shoulder he broke it. And then apparently he also hurt his knee he didn't feel it because his shoulder was in more pain. Also there was a little internal bleeding. We got everything fixed up. His shoulder is ok. He just can't move it for three weeks and he needs to have a knee brace for a while and he'll be in a wheel chair. We aren't going to let him leave till his shoulder is completely healed." She says
"Ok thank you. Am I able to go see him" I ask
"Yes. And Chad don't forget you have chemo today" she says
"Yes I know doctor" I say
I go to Joey's room and see him trying to sleep.
"What's the matter bro" I ask
"I can't sleep comfortably and I want to leave" he says
"I know and I'm sorry but you can't until your shoulder heals and even after that you'll still be in a knee brace for a really long time in a wheelchair." I say
"Chad you need to get your chemo done" Caleb says walking in
"Ugh ok. Sit here with him and talk with him. I'll be back Joe" I say
"alright" Caleb says
I leave the room and follow dr. Lawrence to a room. We go in and she has me change into the hospital gown then I lay in the bed. She starts giving me the treatment and two hours later I'm done. Automatically I run to the bathroom and throw up.
"Chad you ok" she asks
"I'm fine" I say
I wash my hands and face and rinse my mouth out. I go back over to her and sit on the bed.
"Ok Chad I'm just gonna do a check up now and stuff" she says
I nod and she starts.
"You need to go for a scan. We need to check the cancer out" she says
"Ok" I say
We get down there and do the scans and stuff. We go back to the room and I sit on the bed. The doctor walks out then comes back an hour later.
"Chad the cancer shrank a little last time we checked but then it grew a little. Your body just rejected the chemo. We're going to try again in two weeks but we want to keep you here until we do the chemo again" she says
"No no no I can't. I have to celebrate Christmas with my friends and daughter. And my godson. I have to be there for everyone" I say
"Chad stop calm down. I'm sorry but you need to. We need to make sure the cancer rapidly grows or the chemo rejection doesn't hurt you" she says
"O-okay" I say
"Will it make you feel a little less worried if we put you in the same room as your friend since I'm the doctor for you both" she asks
"Yes please" I say
"Ok"she says
Two people come in and I lay down on the bed. They start pushing the bed to Joey's room. They get it in there and get it situated. They leave and Caleb comes over to me.
"What's wrong" Caleb asks
The cancer grew a bit and my body rejected the chemo. I have to stay here until my next chemo treatment which is in two weeks. That means me and Joey are both missing Christmas. I can't believe Joey and I are missing the first Christmas' with our children" I say
"Hey Chad it will be alright. They'll be fine" Caleb says
"Yeah. We just a can't tell Joey about the cancer growing. He'll get scared" I say
"Ok well Joe finally fell asleep. Not sure how long he'll sleep. Alan is in the waiting room. I told the ladies to go home and they all did but Fallon. She wanted to wait for you." He says
"Ok. Well you should go home and get some sleep. Take the kids with you. But park your car somewhere else. Not at the house because Donald, Spencer, Jewel, and Destiny are not aloud to come here." I say
"Ok do you want my to send Fallon in" he asks
"Yes please" I say
He leaves Fallon walks in shortly after.
"Hey Chad you ok" she asks
"Yeah. The chemo was rejected and my cancer grew a bit. I have to stay until my next chemo treatment in two weeks. Joey and I are going to miss Christmas" I whisper
"Why are you whispering" Fallon asks
"Because Joey can't know about the cancer growing" I whisper
"Ok well do you want me to stay over night" she asks
"No you can leave" I say
"Mm" I hear mumbling
I look at the bed next to me and see Joey waking.
"Hey Joe. You ok" I ask
"Yeah. Why are you here" he asks
"They want to keep me here until my next chemo treatment and I asked to be in the room with you" I say
"Oh" he says
Fallon get up and starts heading for the door.
"Can you send Alan in" I ask
She nods and walks out.
"Alan's here" Joey asks
"Yeah. He came to see how you're doing" I say a couple minutes later there's a knock and Alan walks in.
"Hey Joe" Alan says
"Hey Al" Joey smiles weakly
"Hey Chad. What's wrong with you" Alan asks
I grab my phone and send him a text.
C-the cancer grew and chemo was rejected. Can't tell Joe because he'll get scared and angry
A-you need to tell him he deserves to know
I look over at one of the youngest members of the band and see him fiddling with his phone. I sigh and put my phone down.
"Joey I need to tell you something" I say
Alan goes and sits on the edge of Joey's bed.
"Ok" he hesitates
"When I had my chemo today my body instantly rejected it. They also found that it grew a little bit after it shrank some" I say
He looks down and I see tears run down his cheeks.
"You ok little bro" I ask
"I-it's just l-like Jenae. Y-you told m-me it w-wouldn't be." He stutters
"Joey I know you're scared and worried but you need to be strong. You need to be there for the kids and the other guys. I need you to be there for me. To help me through my really bad days. I need to know you're there for me like I'm there for you" I say
"O-ok I th-think I c-can do th-that for y-you" he stutters
Alan hugs him as he starts crying I lay back in bed as I let out a huge sigh.
"Joseph you have to calm down or you're going to make yourself sick" Alan soothes
"O-ok. H-how are y-your girls" Joey asks
"They're okay. They miss you guys. They always ask when they can see you four and meet the other kids" Alan says
"Yeah we'll have to get them together at some point" I say
"Well I'm gonna head out. You two better get some rest. If not you'll be seeing me, Donald, Spencer, and Caleb but not in the best way" he threatens
"but daddy I not tired" Joey whines
"Me neither" I say
"Awe my baby boys do you need me to tuck you boys in" Alan asks
We both nod.
Alan gets up and tuck Joey in then tucks me in.
"Bye guys" he laughs
"Bye Alan" I laugh
"Bye al" Joey laughs
Alan leaves and closes the door behind him.
"I really want to know what they would do to us" Joey says
"Same. But I'm tired maybe tomorrow night" I say
"But I want to watch tangled" Joey complains
"Fine" I say
We get the tv in and search through it. I find Disney movies and select the channel. Before we know it it's the next day.
"Joe we didn't sleep at all" I say
"Oops well they never need to know" he says
"What time were they coming over at" I ask
"Around 10" he says
"It's 9:30 they always get here early" I say
"Oh shoot" he says
I turn the tv off and we pretend to sleep. We hear a knock but don't say anything the door opens and we hear footsteps. I start to stir. I rub my eyes and sit up slowly. I look to my side seeing Joey do the same thing.
"Oh sorry did we wake you guys" Spencer asks
"Yeah but it's fine" I yawn
"Well the doctor said you guys can wear your own clothes while you're here so we brought you each a bag of clothes" Caleb says
"Alright ladies stay here me and the guys will be back" Alan says
The guys leave and Joey and I look at each other.
Oops.

I know what I said at the beginning that Alan wouldn't be added but I just felt like he was needed in it. Sorry. But wow this was a long chapter. Joey hurt. Chad's cancer. Spencer and Destiny blaming themselves. Now what are the guys doing?
