*Spencer POV*
I wake up in the morning to someone poking me. I sit up and see that it's Sean. He's sting on my chest poking my face.
"Hey what are you doing" I ask
"I'm hungry" he says
"Ok let's go downstairs and see what there is" I say
I pick him up and go downstairs. I get down there to see everyone else awake and Chad asleep on the couch.
"What time is it" I ask
"Um around 8. I woke up at 3:30 to Asher crying. Chad woke up at 5 not feeling well and Caleb woke up at 6 because Lilly wanted to play. I made breakfast. Chad ate felt sick threw it up and fell back asleep. Others are and now chillin." Joey says
"Ok thanks for catching me up. Is there more breakfast" I ask
"Yeah. Scrambled eggs and bacon on the stove. We leave for church in thirty minutes." Joey says
I go to the kitchen and set Seam down at the table. I get is food and start eating. Once we finish I take Sean upstairs and change him and put on different clothes. I get changed then go downstairs.
"You guys ready" Caleb asks
"Yeah. what about Chad" I ask
"We're gonna let him sleep." Caleb says
"Ok" I say
"Lilly let's go. I asked you to turn off the tv" Joey says
"No I'm not going without daddy"
She says
She turns the tv off then runs upstairs.
"I got it" Caleb says
*Lilly POV*
I go upstairs and hide under my bed. I hear footsteps coming up the stairs and my door opening.
"Lilly sweetheart where are you" uncle Caleb asks
"Go away uncle Caleb" I say
"But I thought I was your favorite" he says
"Daddy's my favorite" I say
"Ok then why don't you talk with your second favorite" he says
"No" I say
I wait a little bit the uncle Caleb appears under the bed.
"You know I'm to old to do this kiddo" he says
"You're not old" I mumble
"Now what's the matter" he asks
"I don't like daddy being sick. He's suppose to have fun with me and be healthy. I want to be with him" I say
"We'll be gone fire two hours then we'll come back" he says
"I want to be here with daddy" I cry
"Come on please come with us. Fallon will want to see you." He says
"Who's going to take care of daddy? I should stay here to do that" I say
"How about you go to church and I stay here to take care of him" he says
"Ok. I love you uncle Caleb" I say
"I love you too kiddo now lets go downstairs so you guys can leave" he says
"Ok" I say
We get out from under the bed and he picks me up. We go downstairs and uncle Joey looks at me.
"You okay darling" he asks
"Yeh" I say
"I'm going to stay here at Lilly's wishes to take care of Chad if he wakes up" Uncle caleb says
"Ok" uncle Spencer says
"Now say hi to Kelsey for me" uncle Caleb says
"Ok" I say
I grab uncle Joey's hand and we go to the van. I get in the back in my seat and buckle up. Once uncle Joey and Spencer are in uncle Joey drives off. We get to church and as soon as I get out I run to Fallon and the other girls.
"Hey Lilly" Fallon says picking me up
"Hi Fallon. Kelsey uncle Caleb says hi" I say
"Where is he at" she asks
"At home to take care of daddy if he wakes up." I say
"How's Chad doing" Yuna asks
"He's hanging in there but some days are tougher then others. He had radiation a couple days ago and he goes for more chemo tomorrow" Uncle Spencer says
"How are you guys dealing with it" Destiny asks
"Well Joe is really effected bye it because his friend died of cancer. I'm okay but it's still hard. Then Caleb has known Chad the longest so it's definitely hard on him but I can tell he's trying to stay strong for us all" Uncle Spencer says
"We better get inside guys" Fallon says
We go inside and we're greeted by pastor Tom.
"Hey guys and ladies. How's Chad doing today Joey" pastor Tom asks
"He has been sleeping a lot. The treatments are kicking his butt but he's fighting through it. We've been having to force him to eat more than one meal a day and everyday. Other than that ok and we just found out Spencer has a brother so that's Sean his brother who Spencer's holding" uncle Joey says
"Well I'll continue to pray and congrats Spencer on being connected with your brother" pastor tom says
We thank him then go to our usual seats. The church service starts with us singing. An hour or two passes and we're almost done.
"Now as you all know Chad Graham, a member of this church, has been diagnosed with cancer. He has been going through radiation and Chemo. Also trying to keep up with the band and his daughter. He's getting very weak from it and hasn't been to church in awhile. His band mates and friends come to church every Sunday still and go home to tell him what the service was about. Why don't we have his friends and band area come up here and we'll pray for them as a congregation" pastor Tom says
I hold my arms out to uncle Joey as he stands up. He passes Asher over to Jewel and picks me up. We go up front and gather together in a cluster with the pastor.
"Dear Lord,
We thank you for this day and this opportunity to gather together and worship you. We ask for your healing hand upon Chad Graham and his friends and family as they are all going through this hard time. We praise you that his cancer was small and treatable. We just ask you to continue to help him. We pray for Lilly as this must be hard on her. Seeing her father struggle just to sit up or get out of bed. We pray for his bandmates and friends as they have to watch him go through the pain and are trying to help as much as they can. Amen" pastor tom says
We echo his Amen and group hug. I bury my head into Uncle Joey's neck crying softly. He rubs circles on my back in attempt to calm me down. We return to our seats and sit down. After another song church is over. The others get up and leave but uncle Joey stays there with me.
"What's wrong baby girl" he asks
"I don't like daddy being sick" I say
"I know. I don't like it either but we have to be strong for him. We have to be there for him and hope that he gets better" he says
"I don't think I can do that" I say
"And whys that" he asks
"Because daddy's a super hero he's not suppose to get hurt or sick. He saved me. I was getting hurt by those big kids and he came over and brought me over to you guys then adopted me. All of you are super heroes" I say
"Thanks cupcake but do you think you could be strong for your cousins? They look up to you" he says
"Ok I can do that" I say
"Good pinky swear" he asks
"Pinky swear" I say
We hook pinkies and shake them then unhook them. We get up and go outside. We find the others and go over to them.
"Joe I got a text from Caleb" Spencer says
"What did it say" he asks
Uncle Spencer looks at uncle Joey then me then back to uncle Joey.
"You know what is girls want to take the kids shopping. Is that alright" Kelsey asks
"Sure. Go ahead" Uncle Spencer says
Yuna takes me from uncle Joey's arms and Destiny takes Sean. We then go to the girls van.
*Joey POV*
The girls walk off with the kids and Spencer and I walk to the van. We get in and I start the van.
"So what did he text you" I ask
"Chad was taken to the hospital. He woke up again and sat up. He was walking towards the steps when he passed out. He became conscious but Caleb called 911 just to be sure" Spencer says
"Ok" I say
We get to the hospital and go in. We find Caleb sitting in the waiting room so we go over and sit with him.
"How's Chad" I ask
"Don't know yet. Where are the kids" he says
"The ladies took them shopping. Kelsey offered" Spencer says
"Chad Graham" a doctor says
We get up and go over.
"Chad is just fine. He's just very weak from the cancer and the treatment. We took a look and saw that the radiation didn't help so we're taking him off radiation but keeping him on chemo. Tomorrow after he gets chemo we're going to keep him over night just to watch it and stuff" the doctor says
"Ok thank you. Are we able to go see him" Spencer asks
"Yes third door on the right" the doctor says
The other two start walking but I stay put.
"You coming Joe" Spencer asks
"You two go. I'm gonna stay here" I say
Caleb whispers something to Spencer then sits next to me.
"What's wrong Joe" Caleb asks
"I can't do this anymore" I say
"Can't do what" he asks
"Be strong. Chad is a big brother to me. He has been there for all my troubles. His cancer is just like Jenae's. It started out small and treatable. Then treatments started to stop working then it grew and caused her to die. I can't live through this. Chad is the one battling it yet I'm here breaking down. I'm not even able to care for Asher on my own. Either you or Chad are helping me" I cry
"That's because we car about you Joe. And Chad doesn't mind if you break down crying in front of him. He wants to talk with you and see you. You're his little brother even if not blood related. Now let's go see how Chad is doing then head home once he's able to" Caleb says
I wipe my tears away and stand up. Caleb stands up too and we go to Chad's room. We get in there and Chad looks at me.
"Um Spencer Caleb can I talk with Joey alone" Chad asks
"Yeah" Spencer says
They walk out and I sit down on the chair by the bed.
"You okay Chad" I ask
"I'm fine. I was just dehydrated and other stuff" he says
"Ok" I say
"Joey I'm not going to give up fighting. I don't plan on leaving you guys anytime soon. I know you three are trying to be strong for me and the kids but you need to break down at some point. You can't hold it all in" Chad says
"I've been breaking down Chad I'm broken. There's no way to fix me. My best friend is gone. I'm raising a child. I've self harmed and I've tried to kill myself. I don't know what to do anymore" I cry
"Joey I will always be there for you. The other two will always be there for you. The ladies will be there for you. We want to help you. You just have to come to us. Everything will be all right" Chad says
"How can you say that when you don't know for sure" I say
"Joseph snap out of it. God is with us. God will help us" Chad says
"I can't do this anymore. I can't. I just can't" I cry
"Joey let me pray right now" Chad says
I nod and Chad starts praying.
"Dear Lord thank you for all that you've done for us so far. You've blessed us with friends and families. You have shown us miracles. You allowed Jenae and mama Kane tell Spencer and Joey both things before they passed away to be with you. You gave us all great news when the cancer I was diagnosed with was small and treatable. You were able to keep Joey safe. Please help the guys to know they don't have to be strong. That they can break down. That they can go to me or the ladies or each other if they need to talk. Help Joey to know that everything that happens is all part of your plan. Protect us and watch over us. In your sons name I pray Amen" Chad prays I open my eyes and look up.
"Thank you Chad" I say
"No problem Joe" he says
Caleb and Spencer soon come back in with a nurse.
"Ok you're able to leave. You're coming back tomorrow for chemo." The nurse says
"Thank you" Chad says
He gets out of bed and we walk out to the van and get in.
"Should we tell the ladies to bring the kids home" I ask
"Kelsey told me that the kids are sleeping over there" Caleb says
"Ok"Chad says
We get home and we all sit in the living room.
"What are we doing for dinner" Spencer asks
"I'll make som-" Chad starts
"No Chad. We'll order pizza" Caleb says
"Ok ok you win." Chad says
Caleb orders the pizza and Spencer turns on the avengers. After ten minutes the pizza gets here. I pray and we start eating we watch a few more movies and then we all head upstairs to bed.
*Chad POV*
I'm laying in bed unable to sleep when I start to hear crying. I get up and walk to Joey's room. I look in and see he's asleep. I go to Spencer's room and hear him talking. Probably snapchat. I go to Caleb's room and go in.
"Caleb you ok" I ask
"Yeah Chad I'm fine go to sleep" he says
"Caleb what's wrong" I ask
"I'm good everything is okay" he says
I go over to his bed and sit on the edge.
"Have you done this every night since I've been diagnosed with cancer" I ask
"Yeah" he mumbles
"Why didn't you come to me" I ask
"I don't know" he says
"I really want to help you guys and be there but I can't do it if yo don't come to me. So what's the matter" I ask
"I've just known you for awhile. Since the beginning of yellow cavalier. I just never thought of this happening. Especially to you" he says
"Everything happens for a reason Caleb. This is all part of Gods plan" I say
"I know. Have you told Alan yet" he asks
"Yeah I told him the day after I found out. We've hung out a few times." I say
"Ok. Goodnight" he says
"Night" I say
I leave his room and go back to my own. I lay down and shortly after I drift off to sleep.
