18 - Together
Day 7, Sunday, Christmas
Sam woke to an excited Gabriel jumping up and down in excitement on their shared bed.
"Sammy it's Christmas!" Gabe yelled. Sam blinked tiredly but smiled at his boyfriend. Gabe saw that he was awake and flopped back down beside Sam, nuzzling into his neck. "Merry Christmas Samsquatch."
"Merry Christmas," Sam said, pressing a kiss to Gabe's forehead. Gabe smiled up at him, before jumping out of the bed with way too much energy for the morning.
"Come on let's go see the presents!" Gabe yelled.
"I don't think any of us actually bothered to put presents under the tree," Sam said. Gabe just pouted and grabbed Sam's arm, dragging him out of the bed. Sam yelped as he fell to the floor. "Traitor."
"You love me," Gabe said, smirking.
"You're lucky I do," Sam said, standing up and pressing a chaste kiss to Gabe's lips before walking out into the other room.
Dean and Cas were already up as usual, which just seemed to be a thing now. They were standing close together, Dean's hands on Cas's hips.
"I feel like I just walked in on something," Sam said. Gabe tried to look over his shoulder at Dean and Cas but couldn't because of height differences so then just jumped onto Sam's back, wrapping his arms around Sam's neck and his legs around Sam's waist. Sam was not expecting it and stumbled before catching his balance.
"Hello Samantha," Gabe whispered in Sam's ear, making Sam shiver. He pressed a kiss to the skin right in front of Sam's ear before jumping off of Sam and back onto the ground.
"Merry Christmas ya idjits," Gabe said to Dean and Cas.
"Merry Christmas bitches," Dean said.
"Same to you jerk," Sam replied. Cas just watched with a smile.
"So should we find Michael and Luci or just open presents without them?" Gabe asked.
"We should go find them," Cas said. "They were planning something."
"Actually," Luci said. "Our plan will go into affect when it gets dark."
"So until then just hang around and stuff," Michael said, before him and Luci disappeared again.
"I'm fine with that too," Gabe said, shrugging before he went and gracefully fell onto the couch. "Sammy love me," he said, holding his arms out to Sam. Sam smiled and joined him on the couch.
Dean and Cas looked at each other. "What do you want to do?" Dean asked Cas. Cas just shrugged.
"Anything so long as you're with me," Cas said.
"That was cheesy."
"Embrace the cheese."
Dean raised an eyebrow at that. "That sounds like you want me to go hug some actual cheese."
"Maybe I do," Cas said, smiling and trying not to laugh at the mental image.
"What's worse is I probably would if you asked me to," Dean muttered and Cas started laughing.
The group of them spent the day in the cabin, lounging around and talking, and being couply with their partner. Until finally the sun began to set.
"Okay!" Luci yelled, bursting into the cabin. "Everyone come with us."
"You're not going to murder us are you?" Dean asked.
"He wouldn't, you're his ships," Michael said, peering over Luci's shoulder at them.
"Is that supposed to be comforting?" Gabe asked and Michael just shrugged.
And so Michael and Luci led them over to the main hall, which there was a large tree right next to. An evergreen tree.
Luci bounded over to something at the bottom of the tree and pressed a button, and suddenly the tree lit up with Christmas lights. The entire thing, covered in lights...
The four were staring at it with wide eyes.
"That's amazing," Sam said quietly.
"Almost as beautiful as you," Gabe said, nudging Sam. Sam smiled.
"This is..." Cas said, trailing off.
"Yeah," Dean agreed. Michael and Luci high fived in the background.
With the sun now almost gone, the only light was coming from the Christmas tree. Luci walked over to somewhere and started a small fire in a spot he had set up for that. The four gathered around it for warmth as they looked at the tree.
"Merry Christmas guys," Michael said, smiling.
"I'd ask how you did that, but I don't think any answer you give will make sense," Dean said.
"Hey he's finally starting to get it," Luci said. "Now, presents."
So, everyone passed out presents to each other. From Michael and Luci to everyone else was the tree and getting to go back to the camp free of charge apparently.
Sam had gotten a new set of paints from Gabriel that he'd been complaining about wanting, and a few textbooks from Dean and Cas. Gabe had gotten candy from Dean and Cas and a songbook from Sam because I just remembered he's a musician...
(Huh he's a musician in my next fic too, I think I have a thing for musician Gabe xD )
Dean had gotten mechanic stuff from Sam and Gabe, and a little angel ornament from Cas who blushed darkly as he gave it to Dean. And Cas had gotten a psychology textbook from Sam and Gabe and a key from Dean.
Cas looked between the key and Dean and Dean smiled sheepishly.
"I didn't really know what to get and you pretty much live in my apartment anyway," he said, and Cas just pulled him into a tight hug.
"Thank you Dean," Cas said. Dean just smiled and hugged Cas tighter.
After this they all moved inside the hall, but through the window they could still see the Christmas tree. And Michael went and got his guitar, just like he had on their last night of the summer...
"You know what," Michael said. "Gabriel, you play something." He passed the guitar to Gabe.
"Oh well okay then," Gabe said, strumming a few random chords before settling on a song. It was a Christmas carol, and he started humming along softly to it. The others eventually joined in, except Sam because Sam can't really sing.
Gabe played a few more Christmas carols before moving on to other songs. Dean and Cas curled up on one of the beanbags that Luci brought in that they had used on movie nights. Michael and Luci did the same, and Sam sat and watched Gabe with raft attention.
Gabe started playing an unfamiliar tune. It sounded almost...nostalgic. And immediately made all of them think of summer. Gabe hummed along quietly, before he finished the song and noticed everyone was staring at him.
"What was that song?" Sam asked.
"I uh...wrote it," Gabe said slowly. "It's about the summer..."
"I could tell," Sam said, smiling. He moved suddenly to pull Gabriel into a kiss, ignoring the guitar between them. He pulled away and Gabe smiled, and then continued to play songs quietly.
Meanwhile Cas was falling asleep on Dean.
"Hey Dean," Cas said sleepily. "You know I love you right?"
Dean was silent for a few moments.
"Dean?" Cas said, sitting up to look at Dean who was staring at him with wide eyes.
"You've never said that," Dean said quietly.
"It's true though," Cas said. "I...I loved you then. I love you now." Dean pulled him suddenly into a deep kiss.
When he pulled away he was smiling. "I love you too Cas," he said. "I love you so so much." Cas smiled and kissed Dean again.
And so Christmas night continued. They stayed up late until no one could keep their eyes open any longer.
It was their last night at the camp. But unlike last time, they were leaving together.
